Introducing Fantasy Football Draft Buddy Version 2.0

Introducing Draft Buddy 2.0 with a brand new feature – the ability to import fantasy football rankings directly on the cheatsheets.

Version 2.0! It took longer than expected, but this update announces the release of Draft Buddy 2.0 with a brand new feature! This is a very exciting development.

The new feature allows users to import fantasy football rankings directly on the cheatsheets in Draft Buddy rather than run through the Compile Cheatsheets process, calculating fantasy points based on projections and your league scoring system. Importing rankings removes some of the customization to your fantasy league, but it is completely optional. On the plus side there are three sets of rankings to choose from – FF Today, DraftBuddy.com and Dynasty League Football!

That is right, now you have can dynasty specific rankings to use for your dynasty and keeper leagues, from the guys who live and breathe dynasty over at DLF! These rankings are premium content for DLF members so we should be very thankful to have these available in Draft Buddy. I also added dynasty ADP from DLF as an option on Draft Buddy’s adp tab.

The FF Today rankings are from Mike Krueger and Antonio D’Arcangelis (IDP), the same guys who do the FF Today projections already included in Draft Buddy. This allows you to utilize some of the ranking adjustments they make that are tough to fully appreciate from a pure projections-based cheatsheet. Plus, Mike K. created overall redraft rankings for the first time to import into Draft Buddy.

The DraftBuddy.com rankings are redraft rankings from yours truly, to give you another option and opinion from the FF Today projections and rankings. Hey, I’ve been doing this fantasy football thing for quite a while and I am pretty good at it, so… why not share some of my own thinking of players I feel are over and undervalued for the upcoming season?

Hopefully it is pretty straight forward how to use this new feature. Simply go to the cheatsheets on any of the offense, idp and overall tabs, or the equivalent “with notes” tabs, select the rankings you want to import, and click the Import button. You should receive the first notification box, above, indicating what you are about to do, and that you can go back at any time. The second notification box, below, when the process is complete.

There are a bunch of things going on in the background when you import, including recreating the proper  formatting for the cheatsheets (man, that was no small task), and adding the ADP for each player from whichever ADP data you are currently using for your adp tab in Draft Buddy.

Thanks to Dynasty League Football and FF Today for their contributions to Draft Buddy, and we hope you fantasy football fanatics out there like it and continue to spread the good word about Draft Buddy. As always, if you have any questions or comments please let me know.

  • J.J. Watt Signing Two-Year Deal With Cardinals Show More

Free-agent defensive end J.J. Watt announced on Twitter on Monday that he has chosen the Arizona Cardinals as his next team. The Cardinals are giving the star pass-rusher a two-year deal worth $31 million, according to an informed source. The deal includes $23 million guaranteed. The 31-year-old is a five-time Pro Bowler and five-time first-team All-Pro, but he's been hurt by injuries in three of the last five seasons. Watt managed to play in 16 games in his final season in Houston in 2020, recording 52 tackles (14 for loss), 17 QB hits, one interception for a touchdown, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and five sacks. Paired up with Chandler Jones on Arizona's defensive line, the Cardinals Defense will be much more feared with the addition of Watt.

  • Patrick Mahomes Should Be Ready For Training Camp Show More

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (toe) underwent surgery to fix his turf-toe injury on Feb. 10. With a three-month recovery period expected, the Chiefs think that Mahomes will be ready for training camp this summer, and he could be good to go by mandatory minicamp, according to general manager Brett Veach. The 25-year-old was slowed a bit by the toe injury in the postseason, but it's not expected to affect him moving forward after surgery. Mahomes is an elite player at his position and is a perennial Pro Bowler and MVP candidate after making back-to-back trips to the Super Bowl. He had 4,740 passing yards, 38 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 2020 while also adding 62 carries for 308 yards and two TDs on the ground. Mahomes will once again be in consideration as the first fantasy signal-caller off the board in 2021.

  • Washington Expected To Part Ways With Alex Smith Show More

The Washington Football Team is expected to part ways with quarterback Alex Smith in the coming days, according to informed sources. Smith had a gruesome leg injury in 2018 and needed 17 surgeries to fix and later save his leg from amputation. He missed all of the 2019 season before becoming the league's 2020 Comeback Player of the Year, going 5-1 as a starter and helping the team win the NFC East division. However, the new regime never believed that Smith could make a comeback and were set to go in a different direction under center. The 36-year-old played decent football in his return, but it remains to be seen if another organization will give Smith a chance to compete for a starting job. A reunion with Matt Nagy in Chicago, Smith's former offensive coordinator in Kansas City, could be coming.

  • Texans Release Duke Johnson Show More

The Houston Texans released running back Duke Johnson on Friday, according to a source. Johnson was set to have a salary cap hit of more than $5 million, so the team will move on instead. After playing in all 16 games in his first season with Houston in 2019 while carrying the ball 83 times for 410 yards and two touchdowns -- he also caught 44 passes for 410 yards and three more scores -- Johnson played in only 11 games in 2020 and had 77 carries for 235 yards and a TD while adding 28 catches for 249 yards and another score. The 27-year-old spent four years in Cleveland before a trade sent him to Houston in 2019. The Texans could also decide to cut David Johnson after acquiring him from the Cardinals in the swap that included All-Pro wideout DeAndre Hopkins when former head coach Bill O'Brien was still calling the shots.

  • Russell Wilson Hasn't Demanded A Trade Show More

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has not demanded a trade, according to his agent, Mark Rodgers. Wilson wants to stay in Seattle and has a no-trade clause, but if a trade were considered, the only teams he would play for would be the Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, Las Vegas Raiders or Chicago Bears. Another reason a trade is unlikely: Wilson has a pre-June 1 dead salary cap number of $39 million ($7 million in savings). He also carries a post-June 1 dead cap number of $13 million in 2021 ($19 million saved) and $26 million dead cap number in 2022. The 32-year-old has made the Pro Bowl in seven of his nine seasons in the NFL and was on pace to be the MVP in 2020 before Seattle's offense crumbled in the second half. Wilson is ultimately expected to remain with the Seahawks and mend his relationship with them, but it's not out of the realm of possibility that he's traded. He's likely to remain a top-tier QB1 no matter where he's playing in 2021.

Buddy Take There are enough reports floating around that Wilson very likely is disgruntled with his current situation, but end of the day, it seems very unlikely he'll be playing in another uniform next season.
