Fantasy Throwdown is traditional head-to-head fantasy football, reduced from a season-long game between 10-12 owners to a single week, two player battle. There is a fantasy football serpentine draft between you and your opponent. The player pool is limited to three NFL games on the upcoming week schedule, selected by the players, to allow for appropriate depth of talent for your draft. The team that scores the most fantasy points for the week, wins.

Fantasy Throwdown allows for various lineup options, including flex players, superflex (flex QB) and even individual defensive players. Plus, players can choose between standard performance and PPR scoring. There are unique strategy aspects to the game, including choosing who wants the 1st or 2nd overall pick in the draft, the game selection for the player pool, and the unique Block. Make sure to read the Fantasy Throwdown rules about the Block.

Throwdown is completely free to play right now. Create an account and play as many games each week as you like for Weeks 16 and 17 of the NFL season, plus Wild-Card Weekend and the Divisional Playoffs. People who play Throwdown love the format, and I hope you will like it too.

  • Derek Carr Likely To Stay, Marcus Mariota Likely Gone? Show More

It's looking more likely that Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr will remain with the team in 2021, while backup Marcus Mariota has been the subject of trade calls. Mariota is due $10 million in the final year of his contract and would probably get a chance to return to a starting gig under center in the NFL if he is dealt to another team. The Raiders remain committed to Carr under head coach Jon Gruden, which is why it's unlikely that Mariota will remain with the black and silver. The 27-year-old Mariota looked really good in relief of an injured Carr against the division-rival Chargers late in the season and he still can make things happen with his legs, but he'd merely be a low-end QB2 if he's traded and winds up starting for another organization in 2021.

  • Kenny Golladay A Strong Candidate For Franchise Tag Show More

Detroit Lions impending free-agent wide receiver Kenny Golladay is a prime candidate to be slapped with the franchise tag in the coming weeks if the two sides can't reach a long-term contract extension, along with Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin. Golladay played in only five games due to injury in 2020, posting 338 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 20 receptions. But he had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in the two seasons prior, including an NFL-high 11 touchdowns in his Pro Bowl season in 2019. The 27-year-old has averaged 16.8 yards per catch in his four-year career in Detroit, which is the second-highest mark in the league since he entered the league in 2017. If healthy, Golladay has WR1 upside, but he'll be taking throws from Jared Goff instead of Matthew Stafford if he remains in Detroit in 2021 and beyond.

  • Jets Not Making A Decision On Sam Darnold Yet Show More

The New York Jets plan to complete their evaluations of the top quarterbacks, including Pro Days and interviews, in the NFL draft before making any final decisions on quarterback Sam Darnold, according to sources. The Jets have received real trade interest in Darnold, but they want to get the full QB picture first. New York's offensive line was better in 2020, but the 23-year-old was still wildly mediocre and missed four games due to injury. He threw for 2,208 yards on 364 attempts (59.6 completion percentage) with just nine touchdown passes and 11 interceptions. If Darnold is to remain the team's starter under center, Gang Green needs to get him better weapons to work with if he's to see any real improvement. But at this point after three years of game tape, Darnold is an unattractive low-end QB2 in need of a change of scenery.

  • Eagles Agree To Trade Carson Wentz To Colts Show More

The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to trade quarterback Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday in exchange for a 2021 third-round pick and a conditional 2022 second-round pick that could turn into a first-rounder, according to league sources. Wentz had the worst season of his career in 2020 and was benched in favor of rookie Jalen Hurts late in the season as a result. He'll reunite with head coach Frank Reich in Indy after the two worked together in Philadelphia. Hopefully for Wentz's fantasy managers in dynasty/keeper leagues, Reich can return the former second overall pick in 2016 to prominence. However, the Colts are more of a run-first team and aren't exactly flush with receiving talent, plus T.Y. Hilton is a free agent. Wentz could benefit from the change of scenery, but he'll be a low-end QB2 in single-year leagues in 2021 with a lot to prove. Back in Philly, this trade signals the beginning of the Hurts era for the Eagles.
