Nelson Cruz has finally come of age.
Nelson Cruz looks like he’s finally arrived. Cruz came to Texas in the Carlos Lee deal and was supposed to be the Rangers heir apparent to Lee as soon as he bolted in free agency. It took Cruz a few seasons to figure it out, but it looks like he finally did. Through 13 games, he has 6 HR and 15 RBi in 49 AB, all while hitting an uncharacteristically high .286 batting average.
Cruz should hit for power in 2009, but his average is unlikely to remain near .300. If for some reason he is still on your waiver wire, go get him.
