  • Nathan Peterman Starting In Week 12

Chicago Bears quarterback Nathan Peterman will start against the New York Jets on Sunday. Trevor Siemian (oblique) was expected to start in place of Justin Fields (shoulder), but he injured himself in pregame warmups and won't be able to play. As a result, the Bears are turning to Peterman, who was promoted from the practice squad on Saturday. He will serve as the Bears' only healthy quarterback but should be left on waivers in all fantasy leagues. The 28-year-old hasn't seen meaningful snaps since 2018 when he completed just 44 of 81 passes for 296 yards, one touchdown, and seven interceptions. Accordingly, the Jets' defense is a must-start in all formats this week.

  • Mike White Excels In His First Start

New York Jets quarterback Mike White was outstanding in a Week 12 win against the Chicago Bears. White, making his first start of the season in place of the benched Zach Wilson, threw for 315 yards and three touchdowns. He completed 22 of his 28 pass attempts, only took one sack, and did not commit any turnovers. It was a completely different looking offense with White under center, and there's little reason to think he won't continue to start with how poor the offense had looked before him. White should be picked up in most formats, at least as a backup option for now.

  • David Montgomery Will See Heavy Run In Week 12

Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery will be counted on to spark Chicago's offense against a very talented Jets defense in Week 12. The Bears announced on Saturday that backup quarterback Nathan Peterman has been elevated to the active roster, a move that precludes that Trevor Siemian will get the start and Justin Fields will be held out. If that is the reality for the Bears offense in Week 12, they will have to lean on Montgomery to generate offense. He should see plenty of touches but will carry only RB2/3 value against a Jets defense that has allowed only two rushing touchdowns to opposing backs since Week 2.

  • Michael Carter Has A Sprained Ankle

New York Jets running back Michael Carter suffered a sprained ankle during the Week 12 win over the Bears, according to head coach Robert Saleh. However, Saleh wasn't sure about the severity of the ailment. With Breece Hall (knee) done for the year, Carter had taken over the No. 1 spot on the depth chart. He struggled on Sunday, amassing only 21 yards off six touches while adding two catches for 15 yards. Yet, the team is certainly hoping for a positive update ahead of the Week 13 meeting against the Vikings. That said, Zonovan Knight, who had 14 carries for 69 yards and three receptions for 34 yards, may get more work if Carter can't suit up for that one. Ty Johnson, who had a touchdown in Week 12, would also likely remain involved.

  • Darnell Mooney May Be Done For The Year

Chicago Bears wide receiver Darnell Mooney (ankle) was injured during the Week 12 loss to the Jets. While the team was optimistic, there is fear that the 25-year-old could require season-ending surgery. After being unproductive for most of the entire 2022-23 campaign, he showed signs of life by accruing two touchdowns in the last three weeks heading into Sunday's matchup. However, even if Mooney can return, Justin Fields' (shoulder) current ailment may keep him off the field as well, which wouldn't do the wideout any favors. Nonetheless, he will undergo further testing on Monday, but it's not looking good. As a result, Chase Claypool, Byron Pringle, and Dante Pettis may battle for targets from whoever is under center for the rest of the year.

  • Chase Claypool Leads Bear With 51 Receiving Yards

Chicago Bears wide receiver Chase Claypool caught two passes for 51 yards in the team's 31-10 loss to the Jets in Week 12. Claypool was involved early, catching a pass for a first down and then hauling in a beautiful 31-yard jump-ball reception to set up an early field goal. Claypool would see five targets in the game, including a target in the end zone. It was a positive development to see the Bears offense give Claypool opportunities down the field but his production will be capped as long as backup Trevor Siemian is under center. Starting quarterback Justin Fields status in Week 13 will dictate the fantasy value for all Bears offensive players heading into next week.

  • Garrett Wilson Has Nice Upside In Week 12

New York Jets rookie wide receiver Garrett Wilson has solid upside and a good floor in a Week 12 matchup against the Chicago Bears. Wilson had a rough Week 11 game, but so did everyone on the Jets offense, as they only gained 103 yards as a team. In Week 12, Mike White will start at quarterback, and Wilson should see plenty of targets, as he's had a 24% target share since Week 8. He's a WR2 with upside this week.

  • Jets To Get Corey Davis Back In Week 12

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh said that wide receiver Corey Davis (knee) will be back in Week 12 against the Chicago Bears. Saleh also said it's "big" for the offense, as Davis brings an intangible to the offense that goes beyond his skills -- his leadership, the way he lines up and the way he gets everyone settled. The team values Davis greatly, and he will start in the Z receiver spot, replacing Denzel Mims. However, Saleh anticipates Mims being active on Sunday. The Jets offense needs all the help they can get after benching quarterback Zach Wilson this week in favor of Mike White. Davis hasn't played since Week 7 and will now be taking passes from a new QB while also battling for targets with Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore in a low-volume passing attack. You should be able to find more reliable flex options.

  • Elijah Moore Could Improve In Week 12

New York Jets wide receiver Elijah Moore could have his best week in a while in a Week 12 game against the Chicago Bears. Moore hasn't gained more than 17 yards since Week 4 and hasn't been better than the overall WR45 yet this season. But with a new signal caller, Mike White, taking over under center, the Jets offense should get more pass-based and Moore should benefit from that. He's not a fantasy starting option until he proves that he can do something, but he's someone to keep an eye on in case he finds what he had at the end of last season.

  • Cole Kmet Sees A Team-High Six Targets

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet caught three passes for 27 yards in the team's 31-10 loss to the Jets in Week 12. The Bears tight end would lead the team with six targets on a day when backup quarterback Trevor Siemian struggled in the passing game. Kmet's fantasy value will be tied to the health of starter Justin Fields heading into the team's matchup against the Packers in Week 13.

  • Tyler Conklin Hard To Trust In Week 12

New York Jets tight end Tyler Conklin is hard to trust in fantasy lineups in Week 12. Conklin has only seen two red zone targets since Week 2, and while other tight ends may not see quite as many total targets as Conklin, they are almost all more likely to see more red zone targets, and touchdown chasing is very much a thing with fantasy tight ends this season. The Jets opponent for Week 12, the Chicago Bears, have also been excellent at defending opposing tight ends this season, leaving Conklin as a low-end TE2 with a low floor and not much of a ceiling.
