  • Matt Ryan Likely To Struggle Versus Broncos

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Matt Ryan is coming off his strongest game of the season in Week 4. He has thrown for over 350 passing yards in two of the first four games. He'll likely be asked to pass the ball often this week with star running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) sidelined. At first glance, Ryan should have increased passing numbers this week because Taylor is out. Although, it's worth noting that the Denver Broncos do have a strong defense. They will know the Colts will need to lean on the passing game, which could lead to problems for Indy. Ryan will be a low-end QB1 at best for this upcoming Thursday night matchup.

  • Russell Wilson Good To Go For Thursday Night

Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson (shoulder) put in three limited practices this week and was removed from the final injury report on Wednesday, so he will suit up on Thursday night against the Indianapolis Colts. Wilson threw for only 237 yards on a season-low 25 pass attempts in the Week 4 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, but he threw two touchdowns and ran another in. The Colts defense is allowing just over 200 passing yards per game through four weeks, so Wilson will be a borderline QB1 at home for the Week 5 matchup, the first without lead running back Javonte Williams (knee), who suffered a season-ending torn ACL and LCL last weekend.

  • Nyheim Hines Jumps On The Flex Radar

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines will be the featured back for the upcoming matchup against the Denver Broncos on Thursday. Star back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) is sidelined, so Hines will be asked to step up here. The expectation is that Phillip Lindsay and possibly Deon Jackson would see carries behind Hines. However, Hines remains the most attractive fantasy option out of the bunch. He already had some PPR value because of his pass-catching ability. Now, he could actually sneak his way into flex value in most formats for this week.

  • Colts Add Phillip Lindsay To Active Roster

The Indianapolis Colts elevated running back Phillip Lindsay from their practice squad to the active roster for Thursday night's game against his former team, the Denver Broncos, according to a source. With Jonathan Taylor (ankle) ruled out for Week 5, Lindsay will make his Colts debut and could have a role alongside pass-catching back Nyheim Hines and Deon Jackson. The former undrafted running back had 1,000 yards in each of his first two seasons with Denver but then quickly fell out of favor and was released. He had 88 carries for 249 yards and a touchdown in 14 games with the Texans and Dolphins in 2021. Lindsay could factor in on early downs against Denver on Thursday, but he's not a recommended option in starting fantasy lineups in his first game with Indy.

  • Melvin Gordon III Off The Final Injury Report

Denver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon III (neck) was limited on Monday and Tuesday before putting in a full practice on Wednesday. He was removed from the final injury report this week and will play on Thursday night in Week 5 against the Indianapolis Colts. Gordon has fumbled four times in four games so far this year, but he'll head into Thursday night's game as the clear lead back for Denver after Javonte Williams (knee) suffered a season-ending torn ACL and LCL on Sunday. Mike Boone and recent addition Latavius Murray could also be involved, but the 29-year-old should lead the backfield in touches against a Colts defense that is allowing only 89.5 rushing yards per game so far. With the expanded role, Gordon enters this week with clear RB2 upside.

  • Mike Boone Moves Up Depth Chart Entering Week 5

Denver Broncos running back Mike Boone will have a larger role in Week 5 against the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday night and for the rest of the season after lead back Javonte Williams (knee) suffered a season-ending torn ACL in the Week 4 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. Melvin Gordon III is fully expected to lead Denver's backfield going forward, and the team also signed veteran Latavius Murray off the Saints practice squad this week. Boone rushed for 20 yards on three carries against the Raiders, but he also struggled in pass protection. The 27-year-old might be worth a waiver-wire pickup for RB depth in deeper leagues, but he'll be an RB4/flex, at best, on Thursday night behind Gordon. If Gordon continues to have fumbling issues -- he's fumbled five times in the team's last five games -- Boone's role could grow.

  • Latavius Murray Inactive Thursday Night

Denver Broncos running back Latavius Murray will not suit up with his new team on Thursday night against the Colts. After playing in London with the Saints in Week 4, the turnaround was too quick for the veteran to learn the new offensive system in time to play in Week 5. Without Murray, Melvin Gordon III and Mike Boone will be relied on to carry the load, with Gordon serving as the lead back in the Denver offense. Gordon has RB2 appeal in this matchup, while Boone is more of a risky FLEX option.

  • Michael Pittman Jr. A Low-End WR2 Versus Broncos

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. is likely to be the focal point of this offense heading into their Week 5 matchup against the Denver Broncos. Star running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) has already been ruled out for this contest. That being said, Pittman is likely going to get plenty of targets with the Colts unlikely to be able to run the ball successfully. However, the Broncos secondary has been solid this season and they will know Pittman is the Colts favorite receiver. It could be tough for Pittman to get open without Taylor making waves on the ground. Fantasy managers should consider Pittman a low-end WR2 for this game.

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce is coming off a decent three-catch performance in Week 4. He could see an increased workload with featured back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) on the sideline. That being said, the Colts will likely need to lean on the passing game more against the Denver Broncos on Thursday night. All of the pressure will be on Michael Pittman Jr. because he'll be the Colts best offensive player. That being said, Pierce could have a chance to make some big plays with little focus on him. The Broncos secondary is fairly strong, but Pierce still makes for a possible low-end flex option in PPR formats.

  • Courtland Sutton Remains A Strong WR2 In Week 5

Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton leads the team in catches (24), targets (35) and receiving yards (343) through the first four weeks of the 2022 season as quarterback Russell Wilson's go-to option in the passing game. That should continue on Thursday night in a Week 4 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. Sutton caught five of his seven targets in Sunday's loss to the Las Vegas Raiders and found the end zone for the first time this season. He's averaging 14.3 yards per catch and 85.8 yards per game so far. The Colts defense has been pretty stingy against opposing wideouts so far in 2022 -- they've allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points per game in half-point PPR scoring -- but Sutton remains a strong WR2 for fantasy managers as the top passing target in Denver's offense.

  • Jerry Jeudy Is A WR3 For Thursday Night

Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy caught his second touchdown pass of the season in the Week 4 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. It was a nice bounce-back performance after going for just three catches on nine targets for 28 yards in Weeks 2 and 3. He currently ranks third on the team in catches (11), third in targets (21) and second in yards (183), but he should be a little more involved moving forward with running back Javonte Williams (knee) done for the year. The 23-year-old should be a decent WR3/flex for fantasy managers despite a tough matchup on paper against an Indianapolis Colts defense that is giving up the fourth-fewest fantasy points per game in half-point PPR leagues to opposing wideouts.
