  • Panthers Rookie QB To See Plenty Of Reps

Carolina Panthers head coach Frank Reich said that their rookie quarterback that will be drafted with the first overall pick is "going to get a lot of reps" to give him a chance to start right away in 2023. This shouldn't come as a huge surprise, as the Panthers gave away the farm to put themselves in position to take the QB they like the most in this year's draft class at No. 1 overall. Carolina also signed veteran signal-caller Andy Dalton in free agency, but they'd prefer if their rookie quarterback earned the starting gig in training camp this summer. The Panthers have also added running back Miles Sanders, receiver Adam Thielen and tight end Hayden Hurst in free agency, which should take some pressure off whichever rookie signal-caller they take in next month's draft.

  • Andy Dalton Heading To Carolina

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, free-agent quarterback Andy Dalton agreed to a two-year, $10 million contract ($8 million guaranteed) with Carolina. The veteran signal-caller played 14 games for the Saints last season, starting all of them, and threw for 2,871 yards, 18 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. It's more than likely Dalton's best days are behind him. However, although he won't be a consistent fantasy contributor on a rebuilding Panthers team, he'll provide valuable guidance to whoever Carolina drafts in April, assuming a quarterback. Managers should expect Dalton to be the starter come Week 1, but he may find himself on the bench if he struggles at any point during the 2023-24 campaign.

  • Saints Emerging As Potential Derek Carr Suitor?

The Raiders have yet to grant Derek Carr permission to speak to other teams about a trade, but one potential suitor may be emerging. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler writes that a Carr-Saints pairing “was buzzing a bit” this week during the Senior Bowl. • Andy Dalton Game-Manages In Week 18 Loss

New Orleans Saints quarterback Andy Dalton had a lackluster performance on a day where the Saints lost in a 10-7 defensive battle. Dalton went 15-for-25 for 171 yards and a touchdown in the loss and carried the ball once for a two yard gain. It was likely the last start for Dalton as the Saints' chosen starting quarterback as New Orleans gears up for an offseason where they will likely see personnel changes. Dalton's contract with the Saints was only a 1-year deal, so he will be on the free agent market to sign as a backup quarterback to start 2023.

  • Stay Away From Andy Dalton In Week 17

New Orleans Saints quarterback Andy Dalton will lead the team on the road in Philadelphia in a must-win game to keep playoff hopes alive. Dalton and the Saints are coming off of two straight wins, but winning in Philly against the top team in the league is a tall task. The veteran signal caller went 8-for-15 for just 92 yards and an interception in the win last Saturday, but should see passing attempts increase with better weather conditions. Do not consider Dalton in any format on fantasy championship weekend, as the Eagles have allowed the least passing yards in the league this season.

  • Andy Dalton Attempts 15 Passes In Win

New Orleans Saints quarterback Andy Dalton had a weak fantasy outing on Saturday but helped the Saints deliver their second straight win and remain in the playoff hunt. Dalton only attempted 15 passes in the harsh winter conditions, completing eight of them for 92 yards and an interception. Dalton also fumbled twice but recovered both fumbles himself. The game manager will have another brutal matchup as the Saints go on the road against the NFC-leading Philadelphia Eagles in Week 17. He can be released to waivers in all formats, even in superflex or 2QB dynasty leagues as he likely will not be a starting quarterback in 2023 to start the season.
