  • Zach Wilson Won't Start Against Bears

New York Jets players were informed during a team meeting on Wednesday that quarterback Zach Wilson will not start in Week 12 against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, according to sources. Wilson is being benched despite going 5-2 on the season, with both of his losses coming to the New England Patriots. Not only is the 23-year-old being benched, but he will be a healthy scratch as the No. 3 QB behind Mike White and Joe Flacco. Wilson went 9-for-22 for just 77 yards in Sunday's loss to the Pats. Head coach Robert Saleh said the team still views Wilson as the franchise's long-term QB but that he's in need of a reset after missing the first three games of 2022 due to a knee injury. He has four touchdowns and five interceptions and is averaging just 6.8 yards per attempt in his seven starts.

  • Joe Flacco Inactive In Week 8

New York Jets quarterback Joe Flacco is a healthy scratch for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots. The veteran racked up 901 yards, five touchdowns, and three interceptions through the first three games of the season before Zach Wilson returned to the lineup. Now, it appears Flacco has lost his backup job to Mike White. He is a candidate to be traded or released ahead of Tuesday's deadline.

  • Joe Flacco Will Start In Week 3

New York Jets quarterback Joe Flacco will start in Week 3 against the Cincinnati Bengals, according to sources. Zach Wilson (knee) is progressing well, but he will not play in Week 3 under any circumstances. The Jets want Wilson to be 110 percent healthy before he returns to the field. It helps that Flacco led the Jets to an improbable comeback in Week 2 to beat the Cleveland Browns on the road. The 37-year-old has completed a league-high 63 passes on a league-high 103 attempts through the first two weeks for 616 yards, five touchdowns and only one interception. The magic is unlikely to continue against a Bengals team hungry for their first win of the season, but Flacco will still be in play as a low-end QB2 in superflex leagues with plenty of passing volume.

  • Dolphins Could Be Without Terron Armstead, Austin Jackson

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel isn't committing to left tackle Terron Armstead or right tackle Austin Jackson (ankle) playing in the Week 2 contest against the Baltimore Ravens after they both suffered injuries in the season-opening win over the New England Patriots. It's unknown what Armstead is dealing with, but he's played through multiple injuries in his career. It would be bad news for Miami's entire offense if they are without both of their starting tackles this Sunday against a tough Ravens defense. Baltimore's D held the New York Jets offense in check in Week 1, although they were also facing quarterback Joe Flacco.

  • Joe Flacco To Get The Nod Again In Week 2

The New York Jets have confirmed that they will give another start to veteran quarterback Joe Flacco. The 37-year-old went 37-of-59 for 309 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in their Week 1 loss against the Ravens. His performance appears to have been good enough to earn him at least one more opportunity, although the team seems willing to pivot to another option if he has a poor outing. The Jets will face a stout Browns defense in Week 2, meaning Flacco will likely struggle again. He is not on the radar for fantasy football this week, even in two-quarterback or superflex leagues.

  • Joe Flacco Likely To Remain Jets' Starting QB

The Jets’ season began with a loss in which the offense delivered an underwhelming performance. As the team awaits the return of Zach Wilson, the question of who should start at quarterback in Week 2 has been raised.  When speaking to the media yesterday, head coach Robert Saleh admitted that “everything is under discussion and under review” at the position (Twitter […]

  • Joe Flacco Likely To Start In Week 2

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh said it's "more than likely going to be Joe" for the Week 2 game against the Cleveland Browns, although the quarterback position is always under review. Veteran Joe Flacco completed 37 of his whopping 59 pass attempts for 307 yards, a touchdown and an interception in the Week 1 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Second-year signal-caller Zach Wilson continues to rehab from a knee injury, and he's unlikely to be ready for Week 2. The Jets could very well find themselves in negative game script against the Browns this weekend, but fantasy managers can't rely on that much volume again from the 37-year-old Flacco. He'll once again check in as a low-end, desperation QB2 in superflex leagues if he makes another start.

  • Joe Flacco Throws 59 Times In Week 1

New York Jets quarterback Joe Flacco attempted 59 passes in a Week 1 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He completed 37 of those for 309 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He was also credited with a rushing attempt, but gained 0 yards. Flacco was pressured on seemingly every single snap, which led him to throw off his back foot on most of his passes and to miss wide open receivers multiple times. Flacco threw to his running backs 19 times and made sure that the Jets will go back to Zach Wilson (knee) as soon as he's ready.

  • Duane Brown Placed On Injured Reserve

New York Jets tackle Duane Brown (shoulder) landed on injured reserve on Saturday. He had already been ruled out for Week 1, so the latest update means he'll be out for at least three more games. The veteran signed with the team during the offseason after Mekhi Becton (knee) was lost for the year, so obviously, it's a tough blow. George Fant is expected to slide back over to fill the void. Nevertheless, it's not an ideal situation for an already hobbled Jets offensive line responsible for keeping aging quarterback Joe Flacco upright against the Ravens.

  • Duane Brown Ruled Out For Week 1

New York Jets offensive tackle Duane Brown (shoulder) has been ruled out for the Week 1 regular season opener this Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens due to a shoulder injury. The Jets aren't ruling out the idea that he will ultimately have to go on Injured Reserve. Gang Green's offensive line will now be without two of their starting tackles to kick off the 2022 regular season, on top of the fact that veteran backup quarterback Joe Flacco is getting the start under center. The Ravens defense is licking their chops, and they'll be a popular streaming choice for fantasy managers in Week 1. If Brown is placed on IR, he'd be forced to miss at least the first four games of the season. George Fant is expected to start at left tackle, with Max Mitchell on the right side.

  • Joe Flacco To Start In Week 1

New York Jets quarterback Joe Flacco will start in Week 1 on Sunday against his former team, the Baltimore Ravens, according to sources. Regular starter Zach Wilson (knee) is progressing well, but he's not quite ready to return. With Wilson not available until Week 4, the Jets will roll with the 37-year-old Flacco until then. Flacco received positive reports in training camp this summer, and he'll have an upgraded receiving corps to work with, including Elijah Moore, Corey Davis, rookie Garrett Wilson and Braxton Berrios. At best, though, Flacco will be a low-end QB2 play for those desperate in superflex leagues, and his presence under center should lower the Jets receiving weapons' fantasy ceiling early on.
