The Cincinnati Bengals are signing quarterback Reid Sinnett to their practice squad on Friday, according to a source. If Joe Burrow (calf) can't play on Monday night against the Los Angeles Rams, Sinnett would be the backup to Jake Browning. The Bengals lost quarterback Will Grier on Friday when the New England Patriots signed him to their active 53-man roster off of Cincy's practice squad, so Sinnett will essentially replace Grier as extra QB depth. The 26-year-old Sinnett was with the Bengals in training camp this summer, so he has at least a little knowledge of their system.

He also completed all six of his passing attempts, and, unlike Trevor Siemian, he threw a touchdown, finding Andrei Iosivas with a seven-yard throw near the end of the first quarter. The 27-year-old entered training camp as the presumed No. 3 signal-caller on the depth chart. Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Jake Browning got the start in Friday's preseason opener against the Green Bay Packers, suggesting he's ahead of Trevor Siemian for the backup job to Joe Burrow (calf). Browning played the entire first half, going 10-for-17 for 95 yards and an interception in the eventual 36-19 loss. He was also sacked one time. Siemian played the entire second half and went 15-for-28 for 121 yards and an interception.
