Luke Musgrave Won't Return On Thursday Night

Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers rookie tight end Luke Musgrave (concussion) will not return on Thursday night against the Detroit Lions after being evaluated for a concussion. Before injuring his head in the second quarter, Musgrave caught his only target for one yard. It's a tough break for any fantasy managers that started the 23-year-old in Week 4. With Musgrave now out the rest of the way Thursday night, rookie Tucker Kraft, who has two catches for five yards, should have a bigger role as the Packers look to make a major comeback. The good news for Musgrave is that he'll have extra time recover from his head injury before the team's next game in Week 5 on Monday night against the Las Vegas Raiders on Oct. 9.

Luke Musgrave Being Evaluated For Concussion

Green Bay Packers rookie tight end Luke Musgrave (concussion) is heading to the locker room to be evaluated for a concussion. The young tight end was banged up during the first half of Thursday's Week 4 matchup versus the Detroit Lions. It's uncertain at the moment if Musgrave will be able to return to the contest. That would be a shame considering the rookie tight end was coming off his best game of his career. The Packers will likely have to ask fellow tight end Josiah Deguara to pick up the slack in the absence of Musgrave.

Luke Musgrave A Top Streaming Option In Week 4

Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave will take on the division-rival Detroit Lions on Thursday night. The rookie has played more than 85% of snaps the past two weeks and earned eight targets last week against the New Orleans Saints. The potential return of Christian Watson (hamstring) could make quarterback Jordan Love spread the ball around more. However, Musgrave has far too good of a matchup to pass up starting him over plenty of other options. The Detroit defense has allowed the third-most fantasy points per game to the tight end position and has given up 263 yards in total through three weeks. For context, the next closest team is the New York Giants, who have given up 189 yards. The Lions' defense has been much better against running backs and receivers this year than it has been in the past but at the cost of allowing tight ends to feast in the middle of the field. Musgrave is a top-tier streamer in Week 4.

Luke Musgrave Reels In Six Receptions Against Saints

Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave caught six of eight targets for 49 yards during the team's 18-17 win over the New Orleans Saints. After a quiet Week 2, where the rookie gained just 25 yards on two receptions, Musgrave saw more targets in Week 3 than he did through the first two games of the season. Green Bay's run game was inept without Aaron Jones (hamstring), leading to an increase in passing. This led to a solid performance for the 23-year-old in what was a stiff matchup on paper. Once Christian Watson (hamstring) and Jones return, Musgrave could struggle to generate a high target share, but he will be a streaming option in plus matchups. Fantasy managers may look his way next week against the Detroit Lions.

Luke Musgrave Not A Recommended Streaming Option Against Saints

Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave will take on the New Orleans Saints in Week 3. The 23-year-old has become a near-every-down player over the past two weeks and has seven targets on the season. However, this is not the matchup to look at streaming the rookie. New Orleans has allowed only three receptions to the tight end position through two games this year and will be a real problem for quarterback Jordan Love and the Packers offense. The only way fantasy managers will be happy with Musgrave in Week 3 is if he finds the end zone, and there is little chance of that happening. Safely leave the rookie tight end on the bench in favor of a better option this weekend.

Luke Musgrave Quiet In Week 2

Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave caught 2-of-3 targets for 25 yards during the team's 25-24 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. It was a quiet night for the rookie, but the offense never really got going in the passing game. The Packers gained just 151 yards through the air, and fellow rookie Jayden Reed absorbed 32% of the target share. Once the offense has Christian Watson (hamstring) back in the fold, the passing attack should run more smoothly and allow Musgrave to get open more often. The 23-year-old will remain a matchup-dependent streaming option for fantasy managers moving forward. Next week's matchup against the Saints is one to avoid.

Christian Watson Anticipated To Miss Another Game

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) isn't expected to play in Sunday's meeting with Atlanta. The 24-year-old is burdened by a hamstring issue and wasn't available for the regular-season opener against the Chicago Bears. He did practice somewhat during the week, so there's a chance he could be ready in Week 3 against the visiting New Orleans Saints. But for now, Romeo Doubs (hamstring) is anticipated to remain Jordan Love's primary target, meaning he's a must-start in all formats. At the same time, Luke Musgrave and Jayden Reed each warrant flex consideration in deeper fantasy setups.

Luke Musgrave - Week 2 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave will travel to Atlanta to take on the Falcons this Sunday. After a solid NFL debut last week ranked as the TE10 overall, the rookie will look to give fantasy managers another fruitful performance in Week 2 against Atlanta. The Falcons just allowed Hayden Hurst to finish as the TE2 overall last week and will have to face a much better Packers receiving corps this weekend. Musgrave should see a solid target share once again. Christian Watson (hamstring) has a chance to make his 2023 debut but will likely be limited if active. A favorite target of quarterback Jordan Love this preseason, the 23-year-old should put up solid numbers in Week 2 and has an increased chance to find the end zone. Consider the rookie a solid streaming option with top-12 upside this week against Atlanta.

Luke Musgrave Tallies 50 Yards In NFL Debut

Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave caught 3-of-4 targets for 50 yards during the team's 38-20 victory over the Chicago Bears. The rookie was in for an increased workload due to the absence of Christian Watson (hamstring), and he produced a solid performance for fantasy managers who took a flier on him. Musgrave had the second-most targets on the teamSunday and should continue to see plenty of volume as the season progresses. It is unclear if Watson will make his return in Week 2. However, even if he does, the matchup against Atlanta is good enough to warrant streaming the rookie again if you are dealing with an injury to the tight end you drafted a few weeks ago.

Luke Musgrave A Viable Streamer Against Bears

Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave opens the season on the road against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. The rookie made headlines this past preseason as one of quarterback Jordan Love's favorite targets and now has the chance to shine against Chicago. While the matchup is not great on paper, Musgrave could see a high target share due to the absence of Christian Watson (hamstring) and the potential absence of Romeo Doubs (hamstring). We have already seen one rookie tight end, Sam LaPorta, get five targets in his NFL debut this past Thursday night, and Musgrave has even less competition for targets. The 23-year-old was already set up as an every-down starter to open his career but is now a viable streaming option based on projected target share. He is a viable streaming option in Week 1.

Luke Musgrave Looks Dynamic

Green Bay Packers rookie second-round tight end Luke Musgrave has dazzled throughout training camp despite sporadic drops and has showcased a combination of size, speed and pass-catching prowess that has the team running him on jet sweeps, go routes and everything in between. The Athletic's Matt Schneidman writes that the Packers haven't had a tight end this dynamic since prime Jermichael Finley, and Musgrave is already locked into the team's No. 1 role at the position. Musgrave is 6-foot-6, 253 pounds with the speed of a receiver, so he will be a matchup problem for opposing defenses and one of quarterback Jordan Love's favorite targets. The 22-year-old has plenty of upside, but fantasy managers in single-year leagues should temper expectations.

The Packers are starved for a big-play tight end, and they hope second-rounder Musgrave is the solution.
Aug 16 · ESPN Packers Jordan Love Luke MusgraveLuke Musgrave Nets Three Targets With Starting Offense

Green Bay Packers tight end caught 1-of-3 targets for eight yards during the team's 36-19 preseason victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. The stat line is far from productive. However, it is important to note that the starting offense was only on the field for the opening two drives of the game, and Musgrave tied for the team lead in targets during this time alongside wide receiver Christian Watson. Love spread the ball around pretty evenly, but the rookie tight end's positive reports out of camp carry plenty of merit after seeing his involvement during Green Bay's preseason opener. Musgrave could have a solid first year in the NFL as Love's safety blanket. We should see more of the 22-year-old against the New England Patriots next Saturday night.

Packers Believe In Luke Musgrave

Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave has been getting praise from his coaching staff early in camp. Head coach Matt LaFleur said that the rookie tight end has a lot of potential. He continued by saying that Musgrave is the fastest big guy that he has ever seen. The Packers selected Musgrave in the second round of this year's draft. The expectation is that Musgrave is going to be the primary catching tight end to begin the season. He has the size and speed to do damage at the pro level. Fantasy managers should consider Musgrave as a possible late-round option.

Luke Musgrave Likely To Open Season As Packers' TE1

The Packers’ tight end depth chart is presently topped by two rookies, Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft. Per Matt Schneidman of The Athletic (subscription required), Musgrave is likely to start the season as Green Bay’s TE1. Given that Musgrave was a second-round choice while Kraft was a third-round selection, that does not come as much […]

In an offseason that eerily resembled the seminal 2008 period, the Packers made two key decisions at quarterback. A third Hall of Fame-bound passer’s Green Bay career has now wrapped, and like the second, Aaron Rodgers relocated to the Big Apple. As they did after trading Brett Favre to the Jets 15 years ago, the […]
