Dalton Kincaid Still Not A Top-12 Play For Week 4

Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid's usage fell victim to Week 3's 37-3 destruction of the Washington Commanders, catching both of targets for a meager three yards. The highlight of the 23-year-old's three-game profile shows the fifth-most slot snaps (62) at his position. Besides that, there hasn't been much special to see out of Kincaid yet across his first three career contests. But the 2023 first-round pick will try to break out in a Week 4 meeting with the Miami Dolphins that should supply plenty of scoring opportunities. Miami has given up the eighth-highest fantasy points per game (14.37) to his position, but Kincaid is still more TE2 than TE1 unless Buffalo opts to phase out Dawson Knox, who has four red-zone targets to Kincaid's two, from the passing game a bit.

Dalton Kincaid Disappears Amid Week 3 Blowout

Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid caught both of his targets for three yards in Week 3's 37-3 dismantling of the Washington Commanders. The 23-year-old didn't do much on Sunday, manufacturing all his "production" in the first two quarters before Buffalo pulled away in the second half. It was a step back for Kincaid after putting forth ascending catch, target, and receiving totals in both of his first two games. Though, the rookie was hardly needed in a contest where Washington wasn't at all up to the task. The Bills should continue heavily deploying two-TE sets without a No. 3 wide receiver emerging through the opening weeks, even if it means Kincaid is splitting chances with veteran Dawson Knox. Buffalo might utilize the 2023 first-rounder as more of a receiving threat in Week 3's clash of the titans with the sizzling Miami Dolphins.

Dalton Kincaid Aims For More Volume On Sunday

Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid saw his role expand just a bit in Week 2's trouncing of the Las Vegas Raiders. After catching five out of six balls for 43 yards last Sunday, the 23-year-old is now up to nine receptions on 10 targets for 69 yards over the first two games of his career. Dawson Knox, on the other hand, has generated nine targets for a less impressive six receptions and 35 yards, but he did manage a short touchdown catch in his last time out. On tap for the duo in Week 3 are the Washington Commanders, who have restricted Zach Ertz and Adam Trautman to 21 scoreless yards on 11 combined targets across two games. Kincaid loses a bit of appeal as a fringe TE1/2 after Knox returned to a full practice on Friday, but the first-round rookie should be stashed wherever possible. It will be hard to grade Kincaid as a confident fantasy starter until he pulls away in the even opportunity split with Knox.

Dalton Kincaid Supplies Five Catches In Easy Win

Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid corralled 5-of-6 targets for 43 yards in Sunday's 38-10 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. The 23-year-old built on his Week 1 debut in this one, but watched as Dawson Knox found the end zone in the second quarter. Kincaid still out-produced him 43-10 in yardage, so fantasy managers can hang their hats on that moving ahead. The 2023 first-rounder's value should only rise with each passing week, but he remains just out of arm's reach in terms of TE1 evaluation until he receives a more noticeable majority of the tight-end targets in Buffalo's two-TE heavy sets.

Dalton Kincaid - Week 2 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid delivered a respectable NFL debut with four catches for 26 yards in Week 1 against the New York Jets. The 23-year-old encouragingly tallied the third-most snaps in the slot (28) and routes run (38) of all Week 1 TEs. Though Dawson Knox also received 25 slot snaps and 36 routes, it's rather promising to see the first-year Kincaid already in an equally-divvied up timeshare with the 2022 Pro Bowler. Fantasy managers should expect the two TEs to split work until one or the other pulls away in the battle for playing time, since they played an identical portion of snaps in the season opener. Last year's Las Vegas Raiders defense ranked 23rd in fantasy points per game (12.19) to TEs, but Kincaid is a low-ceiling TE2 in Week 2 unless he expands on his measly 1.5% air yards share from Week 1. The 2023 first-rounder still represents one of the position's stronger luxury stashes for the rest of the season.

Dalton Kincaid Offers Modest Returns In Debut

Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid brought in each of his four targets for 29 yards in Monday's 22-16 defeat to the New York Jets. The 23-year-old evenly split targets with Dawson Knox, who also received four looks in this one. Kincaid didn't get much going on a night where quarterback Josh Allen struggled to connect with anybody not named Stefon Diggs, but it was encouraging to see Kincaid play a meaningful allotment of snaps in his professional debut. At 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds, the 2023 first-round pick should continue to pose mismatches out of the slot in Buffalo's pass-first attack. Kincaid will look for more room to roam in a more forgiving Week 2 matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders in Orchard Park.

Dalton Kincaid May Not Be TE1 Ready For Debut

Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid is set to make his NFL debut on Monday night against the New York Jets. The 23-year-old first-rounder is in line to split snaps with 2022 Pro Bowler Dawson Knox, who attained either 65 yards or a touchdown in each of his final six games last season, including the playoffs. Of all skill positions, TEs did the most damage against New York's stout 2022 defense; the Jets yielded the fourth-most receiving yards (1063) and third-most catches (97) to the position last season. But since Kincaid figures to play quite a bit out of the slot, it's worth noting that Gang Green's D limited slot men to the seventh-fewest fantasy points per game (10.6) a season ago. All in all, it likely translates to the rookie being a risky TE2 bet in his debut, albeit with a perhaps stronger chance to pop for a big game than explosive teammate Gabe Davis. Kincaid's value figures to rise incrementally as the campaign elapses.

Bills Likely Have Big Plans For Dalton Kincaid

The Athletic's Joe Buscaglia writes that the Buffalo Bills likely have big plans for impressive rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid to begin the year and have longed for a 12-personnel look to challenge opposing defenses for a long time. Kincaid has looked like a perfect fit in Buffalo through every stage of the spring and summer practices. He also established an immediate rapport with quarterback Josh Allen and was a consistent contributor with the first-team offense in training camp. The 23-year-old's strong first offseason has put him in the mix as a top-15 fantasy tight end in an explosive offense, but there could still be a bit of a learning curve in real NFL games when the lights come on.

Offseason In Review: Buffalo Bills

The preseason favorites last season endured major injury problems and saw a frightening scene alter their playoff route. Rather than earning a first-round bye, the Bills saw the Damar Hamlin sequence lead to a postponement-turned-cancellation and a No. 2 seed. Buffalo’s poor showing as the second seed exposed some foundational cracks, and the team spent […]

Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid brought in three of four targets for 45 receiving yards in Saturday's 27-15 preseason loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 23-year-old showcased some nifty route-running skills out of the slot on multiple second-quarter chunk plays. Buffalo's No. 3 pass-catching role behind Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis is wide open, and Kincaid will be competing with Dawson Knox (finger) and multiple Bills wideouts for looks this season. Rookie tight ends tend to be inconsistent early on, but Kincaid features rare field-stretching ability at his position in a pass-heavy offense, and should only improve as the year progresses. The 2023 first-round pick is worth a gamble at the end of 10-team fantasy drafts on upside alone.

What can rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid add to Bills' offense?

The first-round pick will pair with tight end Dawson Knox to add some flexibility the the Bills' passing attack.
Aug 10 · ESPN Bills Dalton Kincaid Dawson KnoxDawson Knox, Dalton Kincaid To See The Field Together Often

Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane said on the Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday that the team will use more two-tight end sets in 2023. "We're gonna have Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox on the field at the same time," Beane said. "Kincaid is at his best when he's flexed out in that receiver role." Kincaid was taken with the 25th overall pick in this year's NFL draft and is a natural pass-catcher. The 23-year-old landed in the perfect situation in Buffalo as well, but the presence of Knox should have fantasy managers tempering expectations for Kincaid in his first NFL campaign. Kincaid has the skills to become a high-end TE1 in time, but keep in mind that Buffalo typically slow plays their rookies. At best, you should be targeting Kincaid as a TE2 with upside for more in his rookie season.

Dalton Kincaid Living Up To The Hype

Buffalo Bills rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid has looked the part throughout the offseason and so far in training camp this summer. He has remained a consistent target for quarterback Josh Allen while working with the first-team offense, and he's constantly made himself available while completing sizable gains during 11-on-11 work. The 23-year-old has a great feel for the soft spots in zone coverage and has also been tough to defend in one-on-one coverage. However, one of the main obstacles in his way for 2023 is the team's usual operating procedure with first-year players. The Bills have shown hesitation to put rookies into significant first-year roles, so Kincaid is going to have to continue to earn the team's trust.
