Cleveland Browns wide receiver Cedric Tillman caught two of his three targets for 50 yards in an 18-18 tie with the Philadelphia Eagles in preseason action on Thursday. Tillman racked up both of his catches on Cleveland's opening drive, going for 14 yards on the fourth play of the game and then popping off an impressive 36-yard catch that put the Browns in the red zone. The third-round rookie has looked good this preseason and should see some playing time immediately when the regular season opens. For now, the Browns have one final preseason contest next week against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Cedric Tillman got off to a nice start in his NFL career, catching two of his three targets for 35 yards in a 21-16 win over the New York Jets in the Hall of Fame game on Thursday. Tillman, the Browns' third-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft, made an impressive 20-yard reception on a third-and-13 where he battled to make a catch over Jets cornerback Bryce Hall late in the second quarter. The rookie is looking to carve out a role behind Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore, and Donovan Peoples-Jones over the next few weeks of training camp.

Cleveland Browns rookie wide receiver Cedric Tillman was selected in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft -- Cleveland's first pick after trading away its first and second-round draft choices. He has an uphill battle to earn playing time in 2023, but Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski is happy with his effort thus far. "Cedric's done a nice job going back to the spring," said Stefanski on Monday. "He's very diligent, works hard at it, spends a lot of time at his craft. He's up very, very early. Gets extra work with Dorian (Thompson-Robinson) I know -- because he wants to get it right. So he's a young man that's doing it the right way. And it's just gonna be a matter of banking as many reps as possible." Tillman will likely begin the season backing up Donovan Peoples-Jones, but an impressive training camp could leave the Browns no choice but to work him onto the field. He's a dynasty league stash and ultra-deep league dart throw for redraft purposes in 2023.
