The rookie has come back to earth over the past two weeks after nabbing two touchdowns in Week 2. However, he has remained involved enough to warrant stashing him with the upcoming schedule as a break glass in case of emergency flex. Tight end Luke Musgrave (concussion) exited this game early, so it's possible that led to more targets for Reed. Next week's matchup against Las Vegas is juicy, making Reed a startable asset for fantasy managers in need.

Jayden Reed May Lose Snaps In Week 4

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed will face the division-rival Detroit Lions on Thursday night. While the rookie has played the No. 2 wide receiver role to open the season due to Christian Watson (hamstring) missing time, that run could come to an end Thursday night. Watson is listed as questionable for the game, but all signs point to the second-year receiver making his 2023 debut. This would push Reed to play primarily as a slot receiver and be often left off the field in two wide receiver sets. Averaging just over six targets per game so far, it will be interesting to see how quarterback Jordan Love distributes the ball with Watson active. Couple all of this with a tough matchup against a Detroit defense that allows the 12th-fewest fantasy points per game to receivers, and it would be better to bench Reed in Week 4 in favor of a better option.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) is being listed as questionable for Thursday night's matchup against the Detroit Lions. The second-year wideout has yet to play in 2023 as he's been dealing with a hamstring injury since late August. He's been listed as questionable the last two weeks and was unable to play so fantasy managers shouldn't have him in their lineups until they know for certain he is active. Wide receivers Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed would continue to soak up the wide receiver targets if Watson were to miss his fourth straight game on Thursday.

Jayden Reed Puts Up 63 Yards In Week 3

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed caught three of seven targets for 63 yards during the team's 18-17 win over the New Orleans Saints. After a two-touchdown performance last week, the rookie continued to show how explosive he can be, with an average of 21 yards per reception Sunday. Romeo Doubs led the way for the Packers receiver corps this week, and tight end Luke Musgrave saw eight targets as well, showing that Reed could struggle to remain consistent once Christian Watson (hamstring) and Aaron Jones (hamstring) return. With that said, the 23-year-old should continue to have a stranglehold on the slot position and will be a depth option for fantasy managers with an easier upcoming schedule. Reed will be a flex option in Week 4 against Detroit if Watson misses another week.

Jayden Reed A Risky Flex Option In Week 3

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed will face the New Orleans Saints in Week 3. The rookie had a breakout performance last week, leading the team in targets and catching two touchdowns against Atlanta. However, the potential return of Christian Watson (hamstring) could cause Reed's target share to come down a bit. The matchup against New Orleans doesn't give fantasy managers much confidence in a repeat performance, either. The Saints have allowed the sixth-fewest fantasy points per game to the wide receiver position in 2023 and have not allowed one to score through two weeks. The 23-year-old can be used as a flex option if you are desperate, but it would be best to look for a different option with a better matchup in Week 3.

Jayden Reed Posts Two Touchdowns In Losing Effort

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed caught 4-of-8 targets for 37 yards and two touchdowns during the team's 25-24 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. The rookie made the most of his increased opportunity with Christian Watson (hamstring) out for the second week in a row and was able to account for two of quarterback Jordan Love's three touchdowns thrown. Reed capped off the team's first scoring drive with a nine-yard touchdown on a touch pass that he took around the corner past multiple defenders. The 23-year-old showed off his speed on the play and then was able to find the end zone again on a 10-yard strike at the end of the third quarter. Even when Watson returns, Reed has earned starting reps and will be a solid waiver pickup heading into Week 3. He will be a potential deep league flex option next week against the New Orleans Saints.

Christian Watson Anticipated To Miss Another Game

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) isn't expected to play in Sunday's meeting with Atlanta. The 24-year-old is burdened by a hamstring issue and wasn't available for the regular-season opener against the Chicago Bears. Reed showed off some of his explosiveness on a 30-yard reception but sometimes struggled to get open. Watson's status for Week 2 is up in the air at this point. Romeo Doubs Held Out Of Practice This Week

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs (hamstring) missed practice this week with a hamstring issue but was able to get in some sprints off to the side, per beat writer Rob Demovsky. Doubs' practice status has been a concern this week as he either hasn't practiced at all or has not participated in team activities. It's encouraging to see him get some individual drills going off to the side but his status for Week 1 is still unclear. The second-year wideout told reporters that "everything's fine. I'll leave those answers up to coach, however, just taking everything day by day," when he was asked about his availability. It sounds like we won't know more until the official injury report is released later next week as head coach Matt LaFleur hasn't been very forthcoming to the media in regards to Doubs' health either. If he is unable to suit up against the Bears in Week 1 then expect rookie wideout Jayden Reed and tight end Luke Musgrave to see more looks from quarterback Jordan Love.

It is the second week in a row that the rookie has played with the first-team offense, and he came through with an impressive touchdown grab on a crossing route in tight coverage. With the ball being spread around the offense under new starting quarterback Jordon Love, it will be tough for most of Green Bay's receivers to be consistent for fantasy purposes in 2023. However, if their success continues, the first-team offense has performed above expectations so far and could support multiple fantasy-relevant assets in the passing game. Reed is a solid flier you can take with one of your last picks in fantasy drafts over the next few weeks.

Green Bay Packers rookie wide receiver Jayden Reed left Wednesday's practice early after a hard fall to the ground, but he's already back in action on Thursday. That said, there should be no concern about his status for now. Reed is likely to start in the slot right away after being selected in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft. With Jordan Love adjusting to being a starter, he could look for Reed to be his safety blanket in the shallow and intermediate parts of the field. While expectations for most rookies should be tempered, Reed could be worth a late-round dart throw in fantasy football drafts.

Jayden Reed Gets First Team Reps In Preseason Opener

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed nabbed both his targets and gained 20 yards during the team's 36-19 preseason victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. The second-round pick was on the field with the first-team offense, catching his lone target from starting quarterback Jordan Love for a 5-yard gain on the opening play of the second offensive drive. Reed was given more snaps with the second-team offense, gaining an additional 15 yards before his night came to an end. It is a great sign to see the rookie on the field with starters Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs, but he will likely be the 5th read for Love after the likes of Watson, Doubs, Aaron Jones, and rookie tight end Luke Musgrave, who tied for the team lead in targets with the starting offense Friday. We should see more of Reed this upcoming Saturday night when the Packers take on the New England Patriots.
