  • De'Von Achane Returns To The End Zone In Week 13

    Headshot for De'Von Achane

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane posted a much better performance this time around in his return from injury. The rookie back finished with 17 carries for 73 yards and two touchdowns while catching three of his four targets for 30 yards. Achane may have taken the lead role over as he saw a combined 20 touches compared to Raheem Mostert's 12. He'll look to keep that momentum going against the Tennessee Titans in Week 14.

  • De'Von Achane To Play In Week 13

    Headshot for De'Von Achane

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said that rookie running back De'Von Achane (knee) is playing in Week 13 against the Washington Commanders. Achane returned from Injured Reserve in Week 11, but it didn't take long for him to aggravate his knee injury. The explosive 22-year-old then was held out of last Friday's win over the New York Jets. Achane will only end up being held out for one game, although fantasy managers shouldn't get too excited about his return this weekend. The Dolphins are likely to ease the rookie back into their backfield alongside lead back Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr., who saw a season-high 14 touches in Week 12. Achane's upside is undeniable, but he's likely going to be a risky boom-or-bust fantasy option in his return this Sunday.

  • De'Von Achane Limited Again Thursday

    Headshot for De'Von Achane

Miami Dolphins rookie running back De'Von Achane (knee) was limited in practice for the second straight day this week on Thursday. The Dolphins are playing it safe with Achane after he aggravated his knee in Week 11 after a stint on Injured Reserve. He was inactive for last Friday's win over the New York Jets. The 22-year-old has an opportunity to return this weekend against the Washington Commanders, but we have no way of knowing what Miami's plans are for his usage with Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. also involved in the backfield. Fantasy managers are just hoping Achane has some of the spark left he showed earlier this year when he had 455 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 37 carries in a three-week span from Weeks 3-5.

  • De'Von Achane Listed As Limited Wednesday

    Headshot for De'Von Achane

Miami Dolphins rookie running back De'Von Achane (knee) was listed as a limited practice participant on Wednesday. Achane came off Injured Reserve before the Week 11 win over the Las Vegas Raiders but aggravated his knee injury early and never returned. He was limited in practice all of last week, but the Dolphins erred on the side of caution and held him out of the Black Friday victory over the New York Jets. The explosive 22-year-old runner's injury isn't serious, so there's a strong chance he'll be active in Week 13 against the Washington Commanders. If Achane returns, we could see a three-headed committee approach for the Dolphins with Achane, Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr., who saw a season-high 14 touches against the Jets.

  • De'Von Achane's Week 13 Status To Be Determined

    Headshot for De'Von Achane

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane (knee) missed the Week 12 game against the New York Jets. The speedy rookie missed four games on Injured Reserve due to a knee injury and returned in Week 11 against the Las Vegas Raiders. However, he reaggravated the banged-up knee after just one carry in that contest. Head coach Mike McDaniel said Achane was held out of Week 12 due to wanting full confidence in his health and because of a short week. The Texas A&M product could play in Week 13 against the Washington Commanders, but we likely won't have clarity on his status until later in the week.

  • De'Von Achane Officially Inactive On Friday

    Headshot for De'Von Achane

Miami Dolphins rookie running back De'Von Achane (knee) is officially inactive for Friday's Week 12 game versus the division-rival New York Jets. Achane came into this game listed as questionable, but he was never expected to play after aggravating a knee injury in the Week 11 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. The explosive 22-year-old doesn't have a serious knee injury, but the Dolphins are playing it safe after he just returned from Injured Reserve. In his absence, Jeff Wilson Jr. should be plenty involved in a change-of-pace role behind lead back Raheem Mostert on Friday after he was the odd man out as a healthy scratch last Sunday. Darrynton Evans is likely to serve as the No. 3 with Salvon Ahmed (foot) out for the rest of the season.

  • De'Von Achane Not Expected To Play In Week 12

    Headshot for De'Von Achane

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane (knee) is not expected to suit up for Friday's Week 12 matchup against the New York Jets. The rookie back has been limited in practice all week due to a lingering knee issue. It sounds like the Dolphins plan to take the cautious approach here and sit Achane out for at least one game. His absence would mean increased snaps for Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. in the backfield. Mostert is the much better fantasy option between the two backs. Fantasy managers who have Achane rostered should prepare to be without him this week.

  • De'Von Achane Officially Questionable For Week 12

    Headshot for De'Von Achane

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane (knee) is questionable to play against the New York Jets on Friday afternoon. The rookie suffered a knee injury in the opening quarter of his first game back from IR last Sunday and was unable to return. At this point, it seems like he could be a true game-time decision in Week 12. On a positive note, he has been able to practice in a limited capacity. However, in less promising news, Miami signed Darrynton Evans to its active roster, making him the team's fourth running back and a potential candidate to be active over Achane this week. Even if active, Achane will likely have a reduced role on Friday, dropping him to the high-end RB3 tier.

  • De'Von Achane Will Practice Wednesday

    Headshot for De'Von Achane

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters that rookie running back De'Von Achane (knee) will practice on Wednesday and how much (if at all) he'll play this Friday against the New York Jets will be determined during that practice. Achane was listed as limited on Tuesday's estimated injury report after the team held a walkthrough. The 22-year-old rookie aggravated a knee injury in the Week 11 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday after just returning from Injured Reserve. Achane avoided any serious damage in his knee, but the Dolphins are going to play it smart with the explosive runner, which will make him a volatile fantasy option in Week 12 if he's active. Raheem Mostert remains the lead back and Jeff Wilson Jr. figures to see an expanded role on Friday after being a healthy scratch in Week 11. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler was told it would at least be a mild surprise if Achane played on Friday.

  • De'Von Achane Won't Need Surgery, Listed As "Day-To-Day"

    Headshot for De'Von Achane

Miami Dolphins rookie running back De'Von Achane (knee), who aggravated his knee injury in the Week 11 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, will not need surgery, according to head coach Mike McDaniel. The Dolphins haven't ruled out Achane for this Friday's Week 12 contest against the New York Jets, but the team said he is "day-to-day." The Dolphins were exercising caution by removing the 22-year-old from Sunday's game, but on a short week, he's no lock to be active this Friday. Achane was playing in his first game since going on Injured Reserve after getting hurt in Week 5. His explosiveness and top-end speed give him plenty of fantasy upside when healthy, but his knee injury continues to cloud his rest-of-season outlook. Salvon Ahmed and Jeff Wilson Jr. will serve as complements to Raheem Mostert on Friday against the Jets if Achane is ruled out.

  • De'Von Achane Didn't Return For Precautionary Reasons

    Headshot for De'Von Achane

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane (knee) didn't return to Sunday's win over the Las Vegas Raiders. According to head coach Mike McDaniel, the rookie's "knee got landed on," and although he wanted to return, he was held out for precautionary measures, considering the injury was to the same knee that kept him out for four games. McDaniel added that he received "positive feedback from trainers" regarding the ailment. But it's possible Achane won't be available for the Black Friday AFC East matchup with the New York Jets. If that's the case, Salvon Ahmed or Jeff Wilson Jr. would get the scraps left over by Raheem Mostert.

  • De'Von Achane Reinjures Knee, Questionable To Return

    Headshot for De'Von Achane

Miami Dolphins rookie running back De'Von Achane (knee) reinjured his knee in the first half of Week 11's game against the Las Vegas Raiders and is considered questionable to return. Achane missed Weeks 7-10 while on Injured Reserve with a knee injury, so this is an ominous sign for the explosive rookie runner. Before heading to the medical tent, Achane had just one carry for one yard and caught one pass for four yards, so fantasy managers will be hurting if they returned Achane to their starting lineups this weekend and he isn't able to make it back on Sunday. Jeff Wilson Jr. was a healthy inactive with Achane returning in Week 11, so Salvon Ahmed will now be Raheem Mostert's primary backup if Achane doesn't come back against Las Vegas.

    Headshot for De'Von Achane

Miami Dolphins rookie running back De'Von Achane (knee) is officially active for Week 11 versus the Las Vegas Raiders. He had been listed as questionable, but it became clear that he would play after the Dolphins activated him from injured reserve on Saturday. The rookie stole the show in Miami over the three games prior to his injury, amassing 455 rushing yards, 63 receiving yards, and a whopping seven touchdowns. Even if head coach Mike McDaniel plans to ease Achane back in this week, he's still one of the most efficient and explosive runners in football. Rank him as a strong RB2 option at the moment.

  • De'Von Achane To Be "Full Go" For Week 11

    Headshot for De'Von Achane

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane (knee) is "expected to be full go as a key contributor" against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, according to Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network. Achane was activated from injured reserve on Saturday. Not only will he be active for Week 11, but it sounds like he should see a heavy workload as Miami emerges from its bye week. Achane tallied three consecutive 100-yard rushing games before landing on IR and also scored seven touchdowns during that span. Even if he shares backfield snaps with Raheem Mostert, there's no doubt that the rookie belongs in all fantasy lineups as a strong RB2 with high-end RB1 upside.

  • De'Von Achane Activated Ahead Of Week 11

    Headshot for De'Von Achane

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane (knee) has been activated from the injured reserve on Saturday. The rookie back looked nearly unstoppable before going down with a knee injury in Week 5. Before that, Achane had 460 yards on 38 carries and scored seven total touchdowns in the span of basically three games. At the moment, it's unclear how much Achane is going to be involved during his first game back. The Dolphins still have Raheem Mostert who is enjoying a strong 2023 campaign. Despite that, Achane should still find himself with a role in this offense. He should be treated as a possible RB2 for this upcoming matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane (knee) is officially listed as questionable to play on Sunday versus the Las Vegas Raiders. He has been on injured reserve since Week 5 but managed to log three consecutive limited practices this week. As of now, it looks like Achane will be activated prior to kickoff, especially after head coach Mike McDaniel said he was "very optimistic" about the rookie's chances of playing. If confirmed as active, Achane would rank as a high-end RB2 in fantasy football, looking to pick up right where he left off. Achane totaled a whopping 455 rushing yards, 63 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns over just three weeks prior to injuring himself.

  • Dolphins "Prepared To" Activate De'Von Achane From Injured Reserve

    Headshot for De'Von Achane

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said the team is "prepared to" activate rookie running back De'Von Achane (knee) from Injured Reserve and are "very optimistic about that," but a final decision won't be made until after Friday's practice. Achane has missed the team's last four games and had last week's bye to heal up, and the expectation is that he'll be activated and play in Week 11 on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders. The 22-year-old third-rounder has been limited in practices this week. Achane averaged an insane 12.11 yards per carry for 460 yards and five touchdowns in four games before landing on IR and it's exciting to think what he could do for fantasy managers the rest of the way, but don't be surprised if he's eased into a backfield that also consists of Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr.

Miami Dolphins rookie running back De'Von Achane (knee) will return from Injured Reserve to play in Week 11 against the Las Vegas Raiders, barring a setback, according to sources. Achane was limited for the second straight day in practice on Thursday and could ultimately garner a questionable tag on Friday's final injury report, but it's looking like he will be back in Miami's backfield this weekend. In four games before his injury, the explosive rookie has 460 rushing yards and seven touchdowns while averaging an unbelievable 12.1 yards per carry. Achane's return is bad news for both Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr., but don't be surprised if the Dolphins ease Achane back into the fold after his extended absence.

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane (knee) returned to practice this week, and on Wednesday, he took the field without a sleeve or brace on his knee. The rookie speedster was placed on Injured Reserve following the Week 5 win over the New York Giants and seems to be in line to play in Week 11. Achane posted 455 rushing yards on just 37 attempts (12.3 YPC) to go along with seven total touchdowns from Week 3 to Week 5. He was a top-five fantasy running back in each week during that stretch. Needless to say, fantasy managers have been waiting for his return. Headshot for De'Von Achane

Miami Dolphins rookie running back De'Von Achane (knee) is being designated to return from Injured Reserve and will practice on Monday, according to head coach Mike McDaniel. Achane has already spent the required four games on IR and will now return to the practice field after the team was on bye in Week 10. This doesn't mean that Achane will be active in Week 11 against the Las Vegas Raiders, but he's getting close to a return, at the very least. If the impressive rookie speedster looks good in practice this week, the Dolphins could officially activate him off IR later this week. The 22-year-old burst onto the scene earlier this year with 460 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 38 carries in just four games, so he deserves to be stashed everywhere. It remains to be seen what Miami's backfield rotation will look like when he returns, but at the very least, Achane deserves his share of touches alongside Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr.

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said it's been "so far, so good" with rookie running back De'Von Achane (knee) and there "hasn't been any reason" to think he will be on Injured Reserve any longer than he has to be. Achane is eligible to return for the team's Week 11 game against the Las Vegas Raiders after missing the last four games with a knee injury. Miami is on bye in Week 10, but they could be getting the electric 22-year-old back in Week 11 to work alongside Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. The third-round rookie RB deserves to remain stashed in all fantasy formats until then, as he exploded on the scene in his first four games with 38 carries for 460 yards and five touchdowns on the ground, adding nine catches for 67 yards and two more TDs.

The rookie was placed on injured reserve earlier this week, which automatically sidelines him for a minimum of four games anyways. Thus, it looks like he could be activated as soon as he is eligible to return: Week 11 versus the Las Vegas Raiders. Achane was elite when healthy, logging 455 rushing yards, 63 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns over his last three games. Achane will now have to miss the team's next four games, and with the bye coming in Week 10, he will be eligible to make his return in Week 11 against the Las Vegas Raiders. It's terrible news for fantasy managers, as the 21-year-old rookie has been outstanding so far in 2023 with 38 carries for 460 yards and five touchdowns. He currently leads the NFL with 12.1 yards per carry and 115 yards per game and has added nine receptions for 67 yards and two more TDs. Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said that rookie running back De'Von Achane (knee) is being evaluated by the team's medical staff for a knee injury that he suffered during Sunday's win over the New York Giants. Achane tweaked his knee in the fourth quarter with the team already up big. Thankfully for fantasy managers, the 21-year-old rookie sensation carried 11 times for 151 yards and a touchdown before his injury. This will be one of the top injury stories to follow this week, as Achane has burst onto the scene as a must-start RB1 in fantasy the last few weeks. If he were to miss any time, Raheem Mostert would see a boost as the lead back. Jeff Wilson Jr. (ribs) is also looking to make his season debut after spending the first five weeks on Injured Reserve. Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane took eight carries for 101 yards and two touchdowns with three catches for 19 yards in Week 4's 48-20 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Achane picked up right where he left off from last Sunday's outburst, hitting paydirt on his first two touches with both seeing Tyreek Hill act as a decoy. But as both offenses calmed after scoring five touchdowns on the game's first five drives, so did Achane's usage. The speedy rookie was still able to show off his wheels on a neat 55-yard run in the face of the rout. Achane out-touched Raheem Mostert (who fumbled twice Sunday) 11-10, which is a promising sight for those who broke the FAAB bank to claim him off waiver wires. It remains to be seen what kind of role Miami has in store for Jeff Wilson Jr. (ribs), who might be on the cusp of a return. The Miami Dolphins are expected to use rookie running back De'Von Achane more in Week 4 against the division-rival Buffalo Bills, according to a source. Achane has earned an increased workload after his absurd 203-yard rushing performance in the Week 3 win over the Denver Broncos in which he averaged 11.3 yards per carry and scored four touchdowns. Raheem Mostert has also played well and the team likes Salvon Ahmed (groin), but he is questionable to play on Sunday. Achane and Mostert will likely operate in more of a timeshare this weekend, which will hurt the ceiling of both RBs in a tough matchup against Buffalo. Headshot for De'Von Achane

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane took the league by storm in Week 3 with an otherworldly 233-yard, four-touchdown showcase. Week 4's top waiver add is sure to be immediately shoved into fantasy lineups by many managers, and the 21-year-old slots in as a realistic RB3 with RB2 upside in a potentially high-scoring environment against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Buffalo has surrendered the seventh-most receiving yards to RBs (121) in its first three games, which could work to Achane's advantage as a pass catcher. We should still temper expectations based on last Sunday's outburst and the rookie's likely lesser role alongside TD leader and fantasy's overall RB1, Raheem Mostert. Achane should be treated as an instant top-24 play in the backfield's 1B role rather than a backup, however, with gobs of upside despite a prospective workload south of 15 touches.

The expectation is that Achane will have larger role this week with the backfield banged up. Raheem Mostert will be the starter, while his primary backup in Salvon Ahmed (groin) is unlikely to play. That means, Achane could step into the No. 2 role for this upcoming game. It would likely lead to increased snaps and hopefully some streaming appeal. • De'Von Achane Officially Inactive For Week 1

    Headshot for De'Von Achane

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane (shoulder) is officially inactive for Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers. While Achane was removed from the injury report on Friday, the rookie was not expected to have a major role in the season opener. As it turns out, he's inactive altogether. Raheem Mostert will operate as Miami's lead back, ranking as a high-end RB3/FLEX play. He should be started in most leagues. Salvon Ahmed will also earn touches and could be a solid FLEX option in deeper formats. Chris Brooks rounds out the backfield but isn't currently on the fantasy radar.

  • Offseason In Review: Miami Dolphins

    Headshot for De'Von Achane

Following a busy offseason in 2022, the Dolphins didn’t take nearly as many swings in 2023. It’s hard to blame them. The front office didn’t have to make up for any mistakes from last spring, as the team’s major acquisitions (receiver Tyreek Hill and offensive tackle Terron Armstead) both proved to be worth the investment. • De'Von Achane Should Be Avoided In Week 1

    Headshot for De'Von Achane

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane (shoulder) should be left on the bench in most fantasy leagues as he gears up for his NFL debut versus the Los Angeles Chargers. While Achane has earned significant hype and is a glaring dynasty "buy," there's less optimism about his immediate value and production. Miami is expected to phase Achane into action, and there's a very real chance that he ranks third in the pecking order behind both Raheem Mostert and Salvon Ahmed this week.

  • De'Von Achane A Full Practice Participant

    Headshot for De'Von Achane

Miami Dolphins running backs De'Von Achane (shoulder) and Salvon Ahmed (back) were both full participants in practice on Wednesday. Achane ditched his non-contact jersey at practice on Monday and is now practicing in full, suggesting that the rookie will be active for his first NFL game on Sunday in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers. The 21-year-old has the opportunity for an elevated role early in his rookie season with Jeff Wilson Jr. (abdomen, finger) out for the first four games, but he'll merely be competing for complementary work with Ahmed behind clear-cut RB1 Raheem Mostert. Achane is worth stashing for RB depth to open the year, but he's not a recommended flex play in shallow formats since his role behind Mostert is very unclear.

  • De'Von Achane Listed Third On RB Depth Chart

    Headshot for De'Von Achane

Miami Dolphins rookie running back De'Von Achane is listed third on the team's unofficial depth chart heading into Week 1 of the regular season against the Los Angeles Chargers, behind both Raheem Mostert and Salvon Ahmed. As usual with NFL depth charts, fantasy managers should take them with a grain of salt, so this doesn't necessarily mean that Ahmed will see more work in the regular season opener this Sunday over Achane. The 21-year-old back did miss some valuable time in training camp with a shoulder injury, but he also shed his non-contact jersey at practice earlier this week and should be active this weekend. With Jeff Wilson Jr. (abdomen, finger) missing the first four games of the year, Mostert is Miami's clear-cut RB1.
