Buccaneers RB Chase Edmonds Facing Multi-Week Absence

The Buccaneers improved to 2-0 on Sunday, but their running backs room was dealt a blow in the process. Chase Edmonds suffered an MCL sprain, reports NFL insider Jordan Schultz. Schultz notes that Edmonds suffered a grade 2 sprain, and will miss between four and six weeks as a result. That timeline would open the door to […]
Sep 18 · Pro Football Rumors Buccaneers Chase Edmonds Sean Tucker Rachaad WhiteSean Tucker - Week 2 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Sean Tucker received his first taste of NFL action during the Week 1 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. The rookie back rushed five times for 15 yards, while hauling in two receptions for an additional nine yards. It seems that Tucker has worked his way into the No. 2 role behind Rachaad White. The undrafted rookie has been impressive early on. However, it appears the Bucs plan to pound the ball with White after 17 rushing attempts in Week 1. If that remains the case, Tucker isn't going to offer much fantasy value whatsoever. He'll be worth rostering in dynasty formats, but fantasy managers in redraft formats can wait until Tucker gets a bigger role on this offense. Tucker won't be a recommended streaming option for the Week 2 matchup against the Chicago Bears.

Sean Tucker Gets Involved In Week 1

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Sean Tucker made his NFL debut against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1. The 21-year-old rushed five times for 15 yards, while adding two receptions for an additional nine yards. The Bucs gave Rachaad White a bulk of the carries during this game. However, he struggled to the tune of 2.3 yards per carry during Sunday's win. That being said, Tucker could see a bigger workload going forward, assuming White continues to struggle. The undrafted rookie appears to be the primary backup, but isn't a viable fantasy option right now. Tucker is worth rostering in dynasty leagues and is someone to be monitored in redraft formats going forward.

Offseason In Review: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Sticking with their all-in approach around Tom Brady a year too long, the Buccaneers still benefited considerably from their 2020 free agency coup. The franchise added a second Super Bowl title and saw Brady display better form in 2021. Brady’s unretirement helped the Bucs stay atop the NFC South, but it took a historically terrible […]

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Sean Tucker is listed just behind Rachaad White on the team's first regular season depth chart. It looks like he'll assume the RB2 role after edging out Chase Edmonds and Ke'Shawn Vaughn during the offseason. It's worth noting depth charts don't mean everything, but the team intentionally moving him into the backup running spot could be significant. Tucker went undrafted after posting 2,556 rushing yards and 23 rushing touchdowns in his final two seasons at Syracuse. He becomes an interesting handcuff running back option after his promotion.

Sean Tucker Wins No. 2 Job Over Chase Edmonds, Ke'Shawn Vaughn

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Sean Tucker will occupy the No. 2 role behind Rachaad White in Week 1, according to JC Allen of Sports Illustrated. The undrafted rookie's rise to prominence has earned him the backup job over Chase Edmonds and Ke'Shawn Vaughn, who will instead round out the bottom of the depth chart. Tucker opens 2023 as a high-end RB5 in redraft leagues and should be rostered in all dynasty formats.

Sean Tucker Makes 53-Man Roster

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Sean Tucker has earned a spot on the team's 53-man roster. The undrafted back was impressive during training camp and throughout the preseason. Tucker is joined by Rachaad White, Chase Edmonds, and Ke'Shawn Vaughn in the backfield. It's one of the weaker running back rooms in the NFL, which is good news for Tucker's fantasy value. He could quickly work his way up to depth chart early in the season. Tucker is worth grabbing in dynasty formats, but probably won't be someone to look at on draft day in 12-team redraft leagues.

Sean Tucker Sees Plenty Of Action

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Sean Tucker has been one of the bigger surprises in camp this spring. The undrafted rookie has played his way into the backup running back conversation. Right now, Rachaad White is the unquestioned lead back, but his backups are up in the air. On Saturday, Tucker received plenty of snaps to try and earn himself a spot on this roster. The 21-year-old rushed 10 times for 34 yards, while hauling in one pass for one yard in the preseason victory over the Baltimore Ravens. It wasn't a great game from Tucker, but his main competition didn't do much better. Ke'Shawn Vaughn rushed six times for 26 yards during Saturday's game. The Bucs are now going to be forced to make a tough decision between the two backs with Chase Edmonds likely in the mix as well.

Rookie RB Sean Tucker overcomes heart condition to be bright spot for Bucs

The draft combine uncovered a heart condition for Tucker that caused him to go undrafted and miss spring activities.
Aug 26 · ESPN Buccaneers Sean TuckerSean Tucker Splitting First-Team Reps

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Sean Tucker has been a sleeper player to watch during the preseason. The undrafted rookie is reportedly splitting the first-team reps with Rachaad White. He ran for 37 yards on seven carries, while hauling in three receptions for 18 yards during the Bucs' second preseason game. The Syracuse product could very well edge out a role for himself in the backfield. He'd likely be the favorite for carries in Tampa Bay if White is forced to miss time at some point.

Sean Tucker Looks Improved On Saturday

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Sean Tucker wasn't much of a factor during his preseason debut last week. However, the 21-year-old was able to make more of an impact during Saturday's game against the New York Jets. The Bucs started Ke'Shawn Vaughn, but he quickly gave way to Tucker. The undrafted rookie rushed seven times for 37 yards, while adding three catches for 18 yards in the win. Chase Edmonds is probably the favorite to serve as the backup to Rachaad White. However, both Tucker and Vaughn remain in the mix heading into the final preseason game.

Sean Tucker Impressing In Camp

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Sean Tucker has been impressing the organization over the first few weeks of camp. That being said, it wouldn't be surprising to see Tucker get an extended look during the preseason opener. Tucker went undrafted after being a three-year standout at Syracuse. He reportedly has a heart condition, which could be why teams decided to pass on him. Regardless, Tucker is making the most of his chances with the Bucs. He'll attempt to jump Ke'Shawn Vaughn for the third running back spot on the depth chart. The 21-year-old won't be on the fantasy radar to begin the season, but he could very well make the 53-man roster.

Sean Tucker Has A Good Shot To Make Final Roster

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said the team has thrown undrafted rookie running back Sean Tucker right into the mix in training camp, and he has as good of a shot as anyone to make the final roster heading into the regular season. Tucker didn't take part in the scouting combine earlier this year due to a congenital heart condition, but it sounds as though that hasn't slowed him down since the Bucs signed him. The 22-year-old is a name to watch but isn't on the fantasy radar just yet as depth behind the likes of Rachaad White, Chase Edmonds, Ke'Shawn Vaughn and Patrick Laird in Tampa's backfield in 2023.
