Tyjae Spears Logs 20 Touches In Week 13 Loss

Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears rushed 16 times for 75 yards and caught four of his six targets for 13 yards in the Week 13 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Superstar running back Derrick Henry (concussion) left the game in the fourth quarter to be evaluated for a concussion, leading to Spears operating as the clear lead back. If Henry can't play next week against the Miami Dolphins, Spears would have flex appeal in 12-plus team leagues.

Tyjae Spears Has Low-End Deep-League Flex Appeal

Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears has not been a factor in fantasy football lately, but his best game of the season came against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 13. In the Week 5 meeting in Indianapolis, Spears rushed seven times for 34 yards and a touchdown and caught four passes for 35 yards. That said, Spears' role has changed week-to-week, so there's no reason to trust him in 12-team leagues. However, deep-league fantasy managers can utilize him as a desperation flex play. With six teams on a bye this week, he's a viable option in fantasy lineups. A ton of targets or a touchdown could set him up for double-digit fantasy points.

Tyjae Spears Sees Just Three Touches In Win

Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears rushed just two times for six yards and caught one pass for one yard in the Week 12 win over the Carolina Panthers. Spears played on 51.6% of the team's offensive snaps heading into Week 12, but he has rarely been a fantasy-viable flex option. This was his lowest number of touches of the season, so he's clearly falling off the fantasy radar. He's still worth monitoring moving forward and stashing as Derrick Henry's backup, but he's no longer a legitimate flex consideration.

Tyjae Spears A Deep-League Dart Throw

Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears has rushed 48 times for 248 yards and a touchdown and caught 28 passes for 178 yards. The rookie has posted at least a 50% snap share in seven of ten games this season, but that hasn't given him weekly fantasy value. However, the Titans are set to face the Carolina Panthers, who have allowed the second-most fantasy points per game to running backs. Derrick Henry (ankle) was limited in practice on Wednesday. Although there's no indication he'll be out for Week 12, Spears would have RB1 upside if he's absent. Assuming Henry does suit up, consider Spears a low-end flex play for deep-league fantasy managers.

Tyjae Spears Used Sparingly In Blowout Loss To Jacksonville

Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears carried the ball four times for 14 yards and added two catches for 12 yards in the team's 34-14 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Starting running back Derrick Henry only picked up 11 touches of his own in this contest. The Titans, under the direction of rookie quarterback Will Levis, were unable to string together successful drives. Thus, they only possessed the ball for 23 minutes of the game clock. By the time they put together their first touchdown drive, the score was 27-0. The offense is regressing after the hot start Levis had in his first couple of professional appearances. Henry and DeAndre Hopkins will be the only Titans in the starting conversation when they host the Carolina Panthers in Week 12.

Tyjae Spears Tallies 60 Yards In Loss

Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears rushed five times for 18 yards and caught four of his five targets for 42 yards in the Week 10 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The rookie ball carrier's 60 yards from scrimmage was second among Titans players, only behind wide receiver Kyle Philips (61 yards). Spears appears to be more explosive and efficient than Derrick Henry at this point in their respective careers, but until Spears is given a consistent fantasy-relevant workload, it's tough to trust him in fantasy lineups. He should continue to be stashed as Henry's backup, especially in PPR leagues.

Tyjae Spears Falling Off Fantasy Radar

Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears has played on 256 of the team's offensive snaps this season, which is just 23 snaps behind star ball carrier Derrick Henry. However, it has not translated to fantasy-viable production in recent weeks. In six of Spears' eight games, he has posted fewer than eight fantasy points (half-PPR). In Week 10, he'll face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have allowed the second-fewest fantasy points per game this season. All that said, Spears is not worth rolling the dice on in this spot.

Tyjae Spears Keeps Trending Down

Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears didn't do much to help Week 9's 20-16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, carrying the ball five times for 18 yards and catching four balls for four yards. Spears couldn't corral a slightly overthrown Will Levis pass on a wheel route in the red zone near the end of the first half, closing his opening two periods with 22 scoreless yards on four touches. Not much else happened for the explosive 22-year-old rookie thereafter, and Spears' change-of-pace setup behind Derrick Henry renders him a volatile fantasy option while the veteran is healthy. Spears is managing just 6.7 touches for 40.3 yards per game without a touchdown across his last three weeks, with a 48-yard reception in Week 6 inflating his averages over this span. With four teams (three inside the top four in yards per game) on a Week 10 bye, the 2023 third-round pick could be in play as a viable RB3/flex on Nov. 12 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Tyjae Spears Remains Deep League Dart Throw

Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears has rushed 34 times for 198 yards (5.8 YPC) and a touchdown and caught 18 of his 24 targets for 120 yards through the first seven games of his NFL career. The rookie looks explosive and has been efficient, but he doesn't have fantasy viability behind Derrick Henry every week. The Tulane product could see additional targets if DeAndre Hopkins (toe) is out for the Thursday Night contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, he would still have a low floor. Spears, who was taken off the injury report after being limited with an ankle injury this week, is best utilized as a deep league desperation flex play in PPR formats.

Tyjae Spears Looks Ready For Week 9

Tennessee Titans rookie running back Tyjae Spears (ankle) was listed as a full participant in Tuesday's walkthrough after being listed as limited on Monday's estimated injury report. The Titans are giving most of their injured players some extra rest on a short week as they prepare to face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night. Derrick Henry (ankle) is also on the Week 9 injury report and has been limited both days so far, but it would be a surprise if he wasn't active on Thursday evening. The 22-year-old Spears is a dynamic complement to King Henry in Tennessee's backfield, but fantasy managers continue to temper expectations on a weekly basis because of the limited touches he's been getting. The third-rounder hasn't eclipsed 50 rushing yards in a single game and has just one touchdown in his first seven NFL games, but he's averaging a healthy 5.8 yards per carry.

Tyjae Spears A Deep League Dice Roll

Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears has turned 31 carries and 15 receptions into 282 yards through six games of his rookie campaign. The Tulane product has played on 51.3% of the Titans' offensive snaps this season, placing him on the fantasy radar. In Week 8, rookie second-rounder Will Levis is expected to start in relief of the injured Ryan Tannehill (ankle). There's a chance Tennessee will want to lean on Derrick Henry and Spears against the Atlanta Falcons as they ease Levis into action. Although Atlanta has allowed the second-fewest fantasy points per game to running backs this season, Spears remains a deep league desperation flex play. There's a chance Levis will target his fellow rookie in the passing game for easy competitions early on.

DL Denico Autry Drawing Trade Interest; Titans Open To Moving Derrick Henry?

Although Denico Autry is in his age-33 season and operates as a sidekick of sorts on a Titans front seven anchored by Jeffery Simmons and Harold Landry, trade interest has emerged. With Autry in a contract year, teams are monitoring him as a deadline buy. The 10th-year defensive lineman has become a hot name of […]

Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears rushed four times for 15 yards and caught one pass for 48 yards in the Week 6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The rookie wasn't heavily featured like in previous games but flashed on a long catch and run in the defeat. The Titans will now head to a Week 7 bye, and there's a chance the team will look to get him more involved moving forward. The offense could change if Ryan Tannehill (ankle) has to miss any time. Either way, Spears is worth rostering in 12-plus team leagues.

Tyjae Spears A Deep-League Flex Option

Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears scored his first career touchdown in the Week 5 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. He finished Week 5 as the RB9 in PPR leagues and played more than 50% of the team's offensive snaps for the fourth time in five games and the third time in a row. His 9.2 touches per game thus far have put him on the fantasy radar, and he's best utilized as a deep league flex option in PPR formats. Derrick Henry has struggled mightily this season, so the Titans could start to feed Spears even more after an impressive start to his career. For now, he's a low-end flex play for fantasy managers in a tough spot heading into Week 6. The Titans face off with the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6, who have allowed the second-fewest total yards per game. Spears should be rostered in all leagues of 12 teams or more.

Tyjae Spears Scores First Career Touchdown

Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears rushed seven times for 34 yards and a touchdown and caught four of his five targets for 35 yards in the Week 5 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. It was the rookie's third game with at least ten touches, so he is becoming an attractive low-end flex play in deep leagues. The 22-year-old should be rostered in all formats of 14-plus teams due to his standalone value and upside as Derrick Henry's direct fantasy handcuff. He'll take on a tough front seven against Baltimore in London next week.

Tyjae Spears Good To Go Against Chargers

Tennessee Titans rookie running back Tyjae Spears (groin) practiced in full on Thursday and Friday and has been removed from the final Week 2 injury report. He will be active on Sunday against the visiting Los Angeles Chargers. Spears was never really in danger of missing his second NFL game. Believe it or not, he was on the field for four more offensive snaps than Derrick Henry in the Week 1 loss to the New Orleans Saints, although Spears only saw three carries for 27 yards and caught his only target for a one-yard gain. The 22-year-old is the most dynamic backup to Henry that the Titans have probably ever had, but he doesn't have standalone fantasy value just yet. If you have Henry rostered, you should probably have Spears stashed on your bench.

Tyjae Spears Upgraded To Full During Thursday's Practice

Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears (groin) was limited on Wednesday, but appears to be headed in the right direction. The rookie back was upgraded to a full participant during Thursday's practice. That being said, it appears he should be ready to go in time for Sunday's Week 2 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. The third-rounder saw four more snaps than lead back Derrick Henry in Week 1. That is not likely something that is going to continue to happen regularly. The 22-year-old is worth rostering in dynasty formats, but is unlikely to have a huge role with Henry healthy.

Tyjae Spears Limited In Practice

Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears (groin) picked up a limited participant designation at Wednesday's practice. The rookie only logged four touches in his NFL debut but played four more snaps than starter Derrick Henry. Coach Mike Vrabel called the lack of Henry snaps "probably" an outlier and noted that the Titans were attempting to come back in the fourth quarter. Spears will probably see fewer snaps in Week 2 but still faces a plus matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. The third-round pick does not need to be in fantasy football lineups but is worth a stash.
