Travis Etienne made his long-awaited debut with the Jaguars in 2022, and he delivered a strong season as the team’s lead running back. Jacksonville Jaguars running back Tank Bigsby should have the inside track to the No. 2 job in the backfield, according to John Shipley. The rookie back was reportedly impressing the team during OTAs last week. The Jags selected Bigsby in the third round of this year's NFL Draft. The Auburn product could very well earn his way up the depth chart quickly in Jacksonville. His main competition is D'Ernest Johnson and JaMycal Henry with Travis Etienne set to be the lead back. Bigsby could very well have an impactful role in the offense by the time Week 1 rolls around. He's someone worth keeping an eye on as draft seasons creeps up.

Jaguars Add To Backfield With Tank Bigsby At No. 88

The Jacksonville Jaguars chose Auburn running back Tank Bigsby with the 88th overall pick in the NFL Draft. The Jaguars continue to bolster their rising offense with another weapon. Bigsby was the SEC Freshman of the Year during his dynamic 2020 season, scampering for 6.0 yards per carry over 138 attempts. He exceeded 1000 yards in his sophomore year and his receiving usage also expanded a bit. The 21-year-old managed 1150 scrimmage yards even amidst a rough 2022 for the Tigers. His lack of pass protection skills could lose him snaps at the professional level, but Bigsby represents a potential late-round fantasy flier in redraft leagues as a handcuff to Travis Etienne. He could also carve out a strong enough role for some standalone value in his rookie season.

Broncos Host Tank Bigsby On A Visit

The Denver Broncos hosted Auburn running back Tank Bigsby on a top-30 visit recently, according to a source. Bigsby combined for 2,069 yards, 20 touchdowns and 51 catches in his final two collegiate seasons, and he stands at 5-foot-11, 210 pounds. It remains to be seen if Javonte Williams (knee) will be ready for the start of the 2023 season because of a serious knee injury he suffered in 2022, so the Broncos could be looking for extra depth at the position in this year's draft behind Samaje Perine. Bigby is expected to come off the board early on Day 3 of this year's NFL draft. He's been compared to Dalvin Cook and David Montgomery and could eventually become a primary RB for a team at the next level.
