Rashid Shaheed Remains Big Play Or Bust Option

New Orleans Saints second-year wide receiver Rashid Shaheed had another explosive play in Week 3, returning a punt 76 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. Aside from that, he made no impact. Shaheed was targeted twice but failed to haul in any of his targets, and also had one carry for no gain. New Orleans continues to creatively weave the speedy receiver into their offense, but his volume is not currently at a level to where he can be trusted in lineups. If Shaheed is started in Week 4 you are banking on a big play, which he has been more than capable of, but be aware that he could easily bust. Avoid Shaheed when possible.

Rashid Shaheed Offers Boom Or Bust Appeal In Week 3

New Orleans Saints second-year wide receiver Rashid Shaheed has lived off of big plays over the early portion of his career. He has had no shortage of them this season, keeping the former undrafted free agent on the fantasy radar. Shaheed has only been targeted ten times this season, but has a total of 163 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown. He has operated as both a deep threat and YAC receiver for Derek Carr and has been effective in his role. Shaheed can be started, but be cautious as he needs to rip off a big play to pay off.

Rashid Shaheed Catches Another Bomb In Week 2

New Orleans Saints second-year receiver Rashid Shaheed was targeted four times in the Monday night victory over the Carolina Panthers. Shaheed caught all four targets for 63 yards, with a majority of the yards coming on a late 45-yard bomb on the sideline from quarterback Derek Carr. While he was outpaced in targets by Chris Olave and Michael Thomas, Shaheed showcased elite efficiency yet again. He is a flex option going forward with boom-or-bust potential.

Rashid Shaheed - Week 2 Outlook for Fantasy Football

New Orleans Saints second-year receiver Rashid Shaheed broke out in Week 1 with a 5-89-1 line against the Tennessee Titans. Shaheed was highly efficient last year and continued to showcase his explosiveness in Week 1. Against Carolina in Week 2, Shaheed should see enough volume to create more efficient plays. He is in FLEX range this week and could be considered for starting lineups with a solid matchup.

Rashid Shaheed: Boom Or Bust In Week 1

New Orleans Saints receiver Rashid Shaheed came on down the stretch last season after joining the team as an undrafted rookie. The speedy Shaheed operated largely as a specialist before beginning to work into the receiver rotation around Week 11. He is expected to operate as New Orleans' WR3 this season behind Chris Olave and Michael Thomas after grabbing 28 catches for 488 yards and two touchdowns as a rookie. He also rushed four times for 57 yards and a touchdown. Shaheed is best left on benches or the waiver wire heading into Week 1 with an undetermined role, but is an intriguing player to monitor and to see how New Orleans deploys him.

Rashid Shaheed Dodges Injury Report

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed (groin) is not on the team's Week 1 injury report. The speedy sophomore is now on track to suit up against the Tennessee Titans. Shaheed had been dealing with a groin injury in training camp. He figures to serve behind Chris Olave and Michael Thomas to begin the season. In 12 games during his rookie campaign, Shaheed caught 28 passes for 488 yards and two touchdowns. His 17.4 yards per reception would have ranked second in the NFL if had enough catches to qualify. Shaheed is currently worth rostering in deeper formats.

Offseason In Review: New Orleans Saints

After one of the most stable QB periods in NFL history, the Saints spent the past two seasons on a lower tier. While the Saints’ post-Drew Brees run of quarterbacks did not receive the attention the Broncos’ batch of failed Peyton Manning successor efforts did, New Orleans immediately regressed to a midlevel operation once Brees […]

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed (groin) did not suit up for the team's first preseason game Sunday. The speedy wideout suffered the injury at training camp last weekend and is expected to miss a few weeks. The sophomore figures to be an important piece of the Saints' offense in 2023, playing alongside Chris Olave and Michael Thomas. In 12 games during his rookie campaign, Shaheed snagged 28 receptions for 488 yards and two touchdowns. He will likely go undrafted in standard, 12-team fantasy leagues but is worth a look in deeper formats.

NFL Injury Updates: McGlinchey, Browns, Shaheed, Byrd

The Broncos endured a scare yesterday when new offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey was rolled up on in camp. According to Mike Klis of 9NEWS, it sounds like they avoided disaster as their starting right tackle only suffered a sprained knee. Denver brought on McGlinchey, who was one of this offseason’s most prized free agents, at […]
Aug 10 · Pro Football Rumors Panthers Saints Browns Damiere Byrd Rashid ShaheedRashid Shaheed Expected To Miss A Few Weeks

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed (groin) didn't practice at training camp on Monday and is expected to miss a few weeks, according to a source. Shaheed should still be ready to go for Week 1 of the regular season, but he could miss all of preseason action. When healthy, he's expected to be the team's starting slot receiver after posting 33 catches for 484 yards and two touchdowns in 2022. Tre'Quan Smith is also battling a groin injury at camp, so the Saints are short some receivers this week. Shaheed should be able to put up better numbers in his sophomore campaign with quarterback Derek Carr running the offense, even if Michael Thomas stays healthy. However, Shaheed is most likely going to go undrafted in standard 12-team fantasy leagues this fall.

Tre'Quan Smith, Rashid Shaheed Exit Early During Practice

New Orleans Saints wide receivers Tre'Quan Smith (groin) and Rashid Shaheed (groin) were both forced to exit early during Saturday's practice. This is tough as both players are battling for slot snaps alongside Chris Olave and Michael Thomas this season. The early departures are alarming, but it's uncertain if these injuries are significant. Fantasy managers will have to wait and see once the Saints give another update on their status. However, neither player is likely to have a ton of value with Olave and Thomas getting a majority of the targets.
