Isiah Pacheco Ready To Roll For Week 4

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (abdomen) has been given the go-ahead to play in the Week 4 game against the New York Jets. In Week 3 against the Bears, the back suffered an abdomen injury but was able to stay in that game and practice in full all week long. In spite of the injury and a season-low 42% snap share, he had his most productive game of the season against Chicago, finishing with 15 carries for 62 yards and a touchdown and adding 16 more yards on his two receptions. Pacheco will still be splitting backfield reps with Jerick McKinnon and Clyde Edwards-Helaire against the Jets, who have managed to prevent a rushing touchdown through the first three weeks of the season. Pacheco can again be considered a low-end RB2 in Week 4.

Isiah Pacheco Brushes Off Hamstring Injury In Sunday's Rout

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (hamstring) rushed 15 times for 62 yards and a touchdown with two receptions for 16 yards in Week 3's crushing 41-10 win over the Chicago Bears. The 24-year-old was rocked on a helmet-to-helmet hit while attempting to find the end zone in the first quarter, ceding the goal-to-go score to Jerick McKinnon a few plays later. Pacheco ripped off an 18-yard scamper early in the second period, but watched as other backfield mate Clyde Edwards-Helaire fought his way past the goal line for a one-yard touchdown later that drive. Pacheco finally joined the party, however, visiting the end zone following a Chiefs takeaway to cap off a strong 66-yard first half. Pacheco delivered in a smash spot for K.C.'s running game on Sunday, but could have had an enormous day, considering there were four RB scores to be had. The 2022 seventh-rounder might embrace a heavy workload if the sputtering New York Jets fall behind in Week 4 next Sunday night.

Isiah Pacheco, Kadarius Toney Active For Week 3

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (hamstring) and wide receiver Kadarius Toney (toe) are both active for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears. They had been listed as questionable. Pacheco looked impressive with 70 yards on just 12 carries last week, and he ranks as a fringe top-24 fantasy running back with a very favorable matchup against the Bears this week. Toney, meanwhile, hauled in all five of his targets for 35 yards last Sunday but is best left on your bench for the time being.

Isiah Pacheco On Track To Play In Week 3

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (hamstring) is expected to play against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. He had been listed as questionable. The 23-year-old has 93 rushing and 31 receiving yards through two games, though his fantasy value could rise to the RB2 range if the Chiefs jump out to an early lead over the Bears and operate with a run-heavy approach.

Isiah Pacheco Considered A Game-Time Decision

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (hamstring) is listed as questionable for the upcoming Week 3 matchup against the Chicago Bears. Pacheco has been limited during practice this week, but still appears to be in good shape for this contest. Right now, the plan is for Pacheco to warm up with the team and see how his hamstring feels. That being said, Pacheco appears to be a legitimate game-time decision for Sunday's contest. If he sits out, Jerick McKinnon and Clyde Edwards-Helaire would likely split up the reps in the backfield. Neither of them have great fantasy appeal, but could be possible deep league options if Pacheco is unable to play.

Isiah Pacheco Picks Up Questionable Tag

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (hamstring) was listed as questionable for the Week 3 game against the Chicago Bears this weekend. Pacheco could be a true game-time decision on Sunday in the later slate of games, making him even more risky as an RB2 play for fantasy managers. The 24-year-old was unable to practice on Wednesday before being limited on Thursday and Friday. And if Pacheco plays, the Chiefs could opt to limit his snaps and give more work to backups Jerick McKinnon and Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Through the first two weeks, though, Pacheco has seen the majority of backfield touches for the Chiefs and has turned them into 20 carries for 93 yards (4.7 yards per tote) while adding five receptions for 31 yards. Fantasy managers will want to check his final game-day status after the early games have kicked off.

Isiah Pacheco Back At Practice

After being held out of practice on Wednesday, Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (hamstring) was on the field on Thursday. Pacheco will likely be listed as limited on Thursday's injury report, but the return to action gives him a chance to suit up in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears. The 24-year-old second-year back dominated the team's backfield touches in the Week 2 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, taking 12 carries for 70 yards. Through two games this year, he's had 20 rushing attempts for 93 yards (4.7 yards per tote), adding five catches for 31 yards, but he's yet to find the end zone. As long as he's active this Sunday in Kansas City, he should once again serve as the Chiefs' lead back.

Isiah Pacheco Misses Practice Wednesday

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday because of a hamstring injury. Head coach Andy Reid said the second-year ball carrier is being considered day-to-day. Pacheco rushed 12 times for 70 yards and caught one pass for no gain in the win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2. He did not leave the game early, so hopefully, this hamstring issue with not keep him out of game action. The Chiefs face the lowly Chicago Bears in Week 3. This could set up for a big game out of the Rutgers product.

Isiah Pacheco Manages 70 Scoreless Yards In Sunday's Win

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco carried the ball 12 times for 70 yards and caught one pass for no gain in Sunday's 17-9 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 24-year-old started this one after seeing Clyde Edwards-Helaire embrace that role in Week 1, but it was hardly noticeable after the Chiefs ran 11 pass plays to one run in the first quarter. Pacheco saw two first-half touches for four yards while K.C.'s offense couldn't find much of a rhythm, leaving little chance for any Chiefs RB to get off to a fast start. He emerged with a 31-yard scamper to begin the second half to kick-start an eventual Chiefs touchdown drive, and operated as their primary ball carrier with a lead down the stretch. Pacheco's Week 1 receiving output may have been a fluke, though, as Jerick McKinnon and CEH occupied most of that usage in this one. Pacheco remains the superior fantasy play of the three going forward after his backfield mates accounted for negative yardage on the ground in this one.

Isiah Pacheco - Week 2 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco will aim to build on a strong Week 1 receiving output in Week 2 versus the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 24-year-old caught four balls for 31 yards despite running only 12 routes, adding 23 more yards over eight carries last Thursday. While Clyde Edwards-Helaire started the season opener, Pacheco led Kansas City's backfield in snaps (31) as the touch leader. Jacksonville had no issue dispatching the Indianapolis Colts' skeleton crew of a backfield last Sunday, and they were more vulnerable to receiving backs than the ground game in 2022. This is probably a shuffle to avoid in Week 2 if possible, but impossible to completely ignore going forward given the potency of KC's offense. The Chiefs could be showcasing Edwards-Helaire for now in an attempt to trade him, which was rumored all offseason. Pacheco is a low-end RB2 at best as long as he's losing occasional base work to CEH and passing-down work plus high-value touches to Jerick McKinnon.

Isiah Pacheco Doesn't Start, Catches Four Passes In Loss

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco ran eight times for 23 rushing yards and collected all four of his targets for 31 receiving yards in Thursday's 21-20 loss to the Detroit Lions. Much to the dismay of Pacheco's fantasy managers, it was Clyde Edwards-Helaire who got the starting nod in the backfield on Thursday. It comes on the heels of CEH starting each of KC's three preseason games, so the usage is certainly worth noting going forward. Pacheco may not have the started the contest, but he was the first back on the field for the second half. The 24-year-old walked off slowly while pointing to his hip after a shifty catch-and-run play, but he was right back out there a few drives later. Pacheco led the backfield with 47% of the team's snaps, so he'll remain KC's favorite for carries in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Offseason In Review: Kansas City Chiefs

As partially chronicled on Netflix, the Chiefs secured their second Super Bowl championship in four seasons. Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco aims to kick off the season with a bang after capturing the team's lead-back role in the middle of 2022. The 24-year-old gathered 139 attempts for 681 rushing yards (4.9 YPC) and 11 catches for 121 receiving yards with four touchdowns in 11 games as starter last year. The Chiefs experienced plenty of positive game script, going 10-1 as a team across this span, which only aided Pacheco's rise. The former seventh-rounder enters Thursday's tilt versus the Detroit Lions as KC's favorite for carries but likely loses third/passing-down duties to Jerick McKinnon while Clyde Edwards-Helaire also mixes in. After ranking 11th in fantasy points against RBs last year, the Lions defense proved to be more vulnerable through the air. Still, Pacheco situates as a midrange RB2 in a potentially high-scoring environment where the Chiefs could be playing from ahead.

Isiah Pacheco Not On Week 1 Injury Report

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (shoulder) was not listed on the team's first injury report of 2023 heading into the Week 1 matchup on Thursday night against the Detroit Lions. Pacheco didn't make his preseason debut until the finale after having offseason shoulder, but he was always expected to be ready for the start of the regular season. The second-year back heads into Week 1 as the expected lead back for the Chiefs after taking over starting duties in his rookie campaign, but he's going to be spelled by Jerick McKinnon and Clyde Edwards-Helaire, which will lower his fantasy ceiling. He's still attractive as a low-end RB2/high-end RB3 as long as he's healthy in a Chiefs offense that should continue to be one of the higher-scoring units in the NFL.

Isiah Pacheco Sheds Non-Contact Jersey

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (shoulder) was seen wearing the team's red practice jersey on Monday, rather than the yellow non-contact jersey. This is the first time he's practiced this offseason without the non-contact jersey, according to Adam Teicher of ESPN. Pacheco has been rumored to return for the Week 1 matchup against the Detroit Lions, so this is a positive development for that to happen. While Kansas City will mix in multiple running backs as always, Pacheco should lead the team in touches and will have plenty of goal line scoring opportunities in 2023. Given his lack of receiving upside, he is best suited for standard scoring formats.

Kadarius Toney, Isiah Pacheco Won't Play In Preseason Opener

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney (knee) and running back Isiah Pacheco (hand, shoulder) will not play in the team's preseason opener on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. Both players have been nursing injuries in training camp, so this shouldn't be any real surprise. The good news is that both Toney and Pacheco are expected to be ready for Week 1 of the regular season on Sept. 7 against the Detroit Lions. Toney tore his meniscus in the first practice of camp, while Pacheco is recovering from offseason surgeries on his hand and shoulder. If healthy, Toney is expected to be a top receiving target for quarterback Patrick Mahomes, while Pacheco is expected to be KC's primary backfield option after taking over starting duties as a rookie in 2022.

Isiah Pacheco Expected To Be Ready For Week 1

The Kansas City Chiefs expect running back Isiah Pacheco (hand, shoulder) to be ready to go for the regular season opener against the Detroit Lions, according to general manager Brett Veach. Pacheco had offseason surgeries on his hand and shoulder and has been a limited participant in training camp practices. He's yet to be cleared for contact after leading the team in rushing yards as a rookie in 2022. Pacheco also ran for 76 yards and a touchdown in the Super Bowl. The 24-year-old earned lead-back duties after becoming a starter in his rookie season, although he'll split the workload with Jerick McKinnon and Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Pacheco is the clear top fantasy back in KC's backfield, but fantasy managers should consider him more of an RB3/flex.

Isiah Pacheco Should Be Cleared By Aug. 20

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (hand, shoulder) should be cleared for contact in training camp by Aug. 20, according to NFL Network's James Palmer. Pacheco's hand is good, but it's his shoulder that is holding him back at this point. If the 24-year-old second-year back returns around then, he'll have almost 20 days to get ready for the regular-season opener on Sept. 7 against the Detroit Lions. In Pacheco's absence, rookie Deneric Price is cementing himself a spot on the final roster. After earning the starting job in 2022, Pacheco will be KC's primary back in the regular season, with Jerick McKinnon and Clyde Edwards-Helaire backing him up. However, it will be somewhat of a committee, which keeps Pacheco's fantasy value as more of a high-end RB3/flex.

Isiah Pacheco Should Be Cleared For Contact In A Few Weeks

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (shoulder) is expected to be cleared for contact by the 20th of August. His hand is reportedly healed, but his shoulder needs more time to recover before he's ready to take and deliver hits. That said, he should have plenty of time to get back to form before the team's Thursday night opener against the Detroit Lions in Week 1. The 24-year-old rushed for 830 yards and five touchdowns as a rookie and should have plenty of touchdown upside in his sophomore campaign.

Deneric Prince On The Rise Early In Camp

Kansas City Chiefs rookie running back Deneric Prince has captivated the team's coaching staff and personnel department early in training camp. He has generated similar buzz that Isiah Pacheco did in 2022 as an undrafted rookie who has made highlights while showcasing a rugged running style. "I feel he's got that chip on his shoulder," cornerback Trent McDuffie said. Prince is the lone undrafted rookie worthy of a roster spot right now, and he could forced the Chiefs to carry four RBs on their 53-man roster. "I'm excited about him," center Creed Humphrey said of Prince. "He's looking really good so far big, physical, fast. He's got some talent." Prince isn't worthy of being drafted in single-year leagues, but he's one to keep an eye on this summer.

Isiah Pacheco Expanding His Play Count In Camp

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (hand, shoulder), who is returning from offseason surgeries on his hand and shoulder, continues to wear a yellow non-contact jersey at training camp practice. However, he has been taking part in some 7-on-7 snaps as he continues to expand his play count this summer. The Chiefs aren't going to put too much on the 24-year-old second-year back's plate while he recovers from two separate injuries. Barring a setback with either one of his injuries, Pacheco is on track to be fully ready for the regular season opener as KC's top back, although he'll be sharing valuable pass-catching duties with third-down back Jerick McKinnon, which will limit his fantasy ceiling in his second season.

Isiah Pacheco Expected To Be The Starter

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (hand, shoulder) is ahead of the team's recovery timetable after rehabbing from surgeries to fix a broken bone in his left hand and a torn labrum in his shoulder this offseason, although the Chiefs don't know when he'll make his training camp debut. He said he's "feeling great right now" after Wednesday's practice. Pacheco became the starter midway through his rookie season in 2022 and led the team with 830 rushing yards and five TDs. The team is optimistic he'll receive enough full-contact work during camp to be available for the Week 1 season opener on Sept. 7. In 2023, the 24-year-old is expected to be the starter and handle an increased workload. Pacheco will lose valuable pass-catching reps to Jerick McKinnon, but he'll enter the year as the Chiefs' most attractive fantasy back.

Isiah Pacheco Says He'll "Absolutely" Be 100 Per Cent For Week 1

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (hand, shoulder) said he feels great and is taking it one day at a time with the coaching staff at training camp. He also said he will "absolutely" be 100 percent by Week 1 of the regular season against the Detroit Lions. The Chiefs haven't put Pacheco on the Physically Unable to Perform list yet, but he has been in a non-contact jersey so far this week after having surgery on his hand and shoulder in the offseason. As long as the 24-year-old second-year back is healthy heading into Week 1, he should operate as KC's primary back after becoming the starter in 2022, but he'll share valuable pass-catching work with third-down back Jerick McKinnon. For now, consider him a low-end RB2/high-end RB3 in fantasy.

Isiah Pacheco Works Out Wednesday

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (hand, shoulder) was present for a workout on Wednesday with the team's quarterbacks and rookies. It's a notable development after head coach Andy Reid said on Tuesday that Pacheco could begin training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Still, the 24-year-old didn't do much on Wednesday and could be held out of workouts early on in training camp. It won't mean that the second-year back won't be ready for Week 1, though, and the seventh-rounder figures to be the Chiefs' lead back as long as he's healthy. Pacheco led the backfield with 830 rushing yards in 2022. Jerick McKinnon will steal valuable pass-catching chances from Pacheco, making him more of a low-end RB2/high-end RB3 in fantasy drafts.

Isiah Pacheco Seen Stretching Wednesday

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (hand) was seen stretching on the field before practice on Wednesday. Head coach Andy Reid said on Tuesday that Pacheco was a candidate to miss the start of training camp after having surgery on his hand and labrum this offseason. But the fact that he's on the field already is a good sign that he'll be fine for the start of the regular season. The 24-year-old seventh-round pick eventually became KC's lead back in his rookie season in 2022, and he should have continue to see lead-back duties this year as long as he's healthy. However, despite being in one of the most explosive offenses in football, Pacheco is more of an RB3/flex for fantasy managers with Jerick McKinnon likely to steal away plenty of valuable pass-catching opportunities.

Isiah Pacheco Could Start Training Camp On PUP List

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said that the team will soon make a decision on whether running back Isiah Pacheco (hand) will begin training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list. It basically means that Pacheco might not be ready to practice when training camp kicks off soon, but the 24-year-old could still be ready for the Week 1 season opener. Pacheco is coming off surgeries for a broken hand and torn labrum. When healthy, he figures to be KC's top running back after earning a starting role as a seventh-round rookie in 2022. Pacheco is unlikely to catch enough passes, though, with Jerick McKinnon around to be much more than an RB3/flex for fantasy purposes in his sophomore season.
