Christian Watson Gets Back On Track Against Detroit

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson caught five of seven targets for 94 yards and a touchdown during the team's 29-22 win over the Detroit Lions. After struggling for weeks, the second-year receiver finally got back on track against the struggling Detroit pass defense and found the end zone for the second week in a row. Watson's biggest play was a 16-yard touchdown reception late in the third quarter that put the Packers up by 15. Jayden Reed caught a touchdown in this game as well and led the team in targets, but Watson was able to be more involved than Romeo Doubs and was much more effective. While fantasy managers should have more confidence in the former first-round pick moving forward, they will need to keep their expectations in check next week when the Packers host the Kansas City Chiefs.

Christian Watson A Risky Option Against Division Rival

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson will go on the road to take on the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving in Week 12. The second-year receiver was finally able to find the end zone last weekend but still caught just two passes for a gain of just 21 yards. Watson has not cleared 40 yards gained since Week 5 and has done so just once all year. Jayden Reed (chest) and Romeo Doubs have been the top targets for quarterback Jordan Love, and the ball is being spread around the offense so much that Watson is struggling to produce for fantasy managers every week, no matter the matchup. Detroit has struggled to stop opposing passing attacks as of late and has allowed the 10th-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers. Even with the great matchup, Watson can be considered nothing more than a risky flex option in Week 12.

Christian Watson Upgrades To Full Practice

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (shoulder) was upgraded to a full practice participant on Tuesday after the team listed him as limited on Monday's estimated injury report. The Packers seem unlikely to be with rookie tight end Luke Musgrave (abdomen) for Thanksgiving on Thursday against the Detroit Lions, so Watson could see a much-needed target boost in Week 12. The 24-year-old scored only his second touchdown in seven games in the Week 11 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, but it came on just two catches for 21 yards. Watson hasn't had more than three catches in a game in 2023 and has gone over 37 yards receiving just once. He'll most likely remain a boom/bust WR4/flex option for fantasy managers.

Christian Watson Limited On Monday, Dontayvion Wicks Picks Up DNP

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (shoulder) was listed as a limited participant on the team's estimated injury report on Monday. Meanwhile, rookie wideout Dontayvion Wicks (concussion, knee) was listed as a non-participant. Watson was also on last week's injury report with a shoulder injury, but he was never in any real danger of sitting out of the Week 11 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. The 24-year-old caught only two passes for 21 yards on Sunday, but one of those two catches gave him his second TD of 2023. He'll remain a boom/bust WR4/flex option in what has been a weak Packers offense. Wicks had a career-high 91 yards on three catches in Week 11, but he could sit out on a short week this Thursday against the Detroit Lions, which would give Romeo Doubs and fellow rookie Jayden Reed more work in the passing game alongside Watson.

Christian Watson Salvages Poor Performance With A Touchdown

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson caught two of four targets for 21 yards and a touchdown, adding one carry for a one-yard gain during the team's 23-20 over the Los Angeles Chargers. The second-year receiver has not delivered as the top-tier passing option for the Packers as most of us thought he would. Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, and Luke Musgrave all had more targets than Watson Sunday, with the trio of receivers all out-gaining the 24-year-old by a wide margin. The ball is being spread around this offense, and it is limiting Watson for fantasy purposes. Quarterback Jordan Love had his best passing performance of the season on Sunday, so do not expect the formula to change come Week 12. Even in a plus matchup against the Detroit Lions, Watson remains a boom-or-bust low-end flex option.

Christian Watson Tough To Trust Despite Plus Matchup

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson will take on the visiting Los Angeles Chargers in Week 11. The second-year receiver has been limited in practice with multiple injuries, with a shoulder injury being the main designation this past week. He enters the weekend off the final injury report and is good to go for Sunday. Watson has had a horrible four-game stretch, totaling eight receptions for 120 scoreless yards. Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed have been much better both for fantasy and on the field, looking like true compliments for quarterback Jordan Love. The matchup this week against Los Angeles is great, but fantasy managers will have a hard time putting the 24-year-old back into their lineups after the past month. The Chargers allow the fifth-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers and were just torched by Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Lions last week. With that said Watson remains more of a risky flex option rather than a WR2 heading into the weekend.

Christian Watson Stays Limited Thursday

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (shoulder) was limited in Thursday's practice session for the second straight day this week. Watson doesn't appear to be dealing with a serious injury, but he could still end up picking up a questionable tag heading into the Week 11 contest on Sunday against the visiting Los Angeles Chargers. The 24-year-old will have a great chance to turn things around this weekend against the soft Chargers defense if he plays this week. Watson had seven touchdowns in a four-game span in his rookie season in 2022, but he's been a dud in his sophomore campaign so far with only 14 catches for 236 yards and one touchdown in six games. He missed the first three games of the year due to a hamstring injury. Until he shows signs of life, Watson has become a hard-to-trust WR4/flex in fantasy.

Nov 16 · ESPN Green Bay Packers Jordan Love Christian WatsonChristian Watson Limited With Shoulder Injury On Wednesday

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (shoulder) was limited in practice on Wednesday as his team began preparations to face the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 11. Watson initially injured his chest and back in Week 9 but the shoulder injury is a new ailment for the 24-year-old wideout. His participation in practice on Thursday and Friday will be a good clue as to whether he will be able to take the field against the Chargers in Week 11. If Watson doesn't end up playing, it would open up more work for Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, and Dontayvion Wicks this weekend.

Nov 13 · ESPN Green Bay Packers Jordan Love Christian WatsonChristian Watson Fails To Reach 40 Yards For Fourth Week In A Row

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson caught two of seven targets for 23 yards during the team's 19-23 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. It completes an abysmal four-week stretch for the second-year receiver, who has not cleared 40 yards or caught more than three passes since the Packers' Week 6 bye. This was a matchup that fantasy managers were targeting, as Pittsburgh has been terrible against fantasy wide receivers, but Jayden Reed and Romeo Doubs were the ones to catch touchdowns and lead the passing attack in Week 10. Watson led the team in targets but was Green Bay's most ineffective receiver on the field. Even with a solid matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers on the schedule for Week 11, fantasy managers will be hard-pressed to throw him back into their lineups.

Christian Watson Will Look To Capitalize On Fantastic Matchup

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson will go on the road to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 10. The 24-year-old has just seven receptions over the past three weeks and has not found the end zone since returning from injury back in Week 4. The Packers' passing attack has not only been subpar at best but the ball has been spread around to multiple weapons, capping the fantasy ceiling of the second-year receiver. Last week's two-target performance was the lowest of the season for Watson, but this matchup against the Steelers could be a bounce-back spot for the No. 1 receiver. Pittsburgh allows the fifth-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers and is susceptible to the big play, giving up an average of 14.7 yards per reception. It is tough to stick with Watson after an absolutely abysmal return over the past three weeks, but he is still in WR2 territory this week due to the matchup.

Christian Watson At Practice Wednesday

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (chest/back/concussion) is participating in practice on Wednesday. The second-year wideout exited the Week 9 win over the Los Angeles Rams in the fourth quarter with a chest and back injury. He was also being evaluated for a concussion. However, his early-week practice participation indicates that his injury is not as serious as it seemed initially. However, he remains a shaky flex option for Week 10, even in a favorable matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Watson has played in just five games this season and has failed to surpass 40 yards receiving in four of those five contests. Consider him a boom-or-bust flex consideration in Week 10 lineups if he suits up.

No Long-Term Concerns For Christian Watson

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said that wide receiver Christian Watson (back, chest) avoided a concussion in the Week 9 win over the Los Angeles Rams and also doesn't have any concerns with his back or chest, which were injured during an outstretched catch on Sunday. The Packers are still monitoring Watson closely, but he looks to have avoided a serious injury and should have a chance to play in Week 10 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 24-year-old second-year wideout caught just one pass in Week 9 for a 37-yard gain. He got a late start to the 2023 campaign due to a hamstring injury and has been a major disappointment in his sophomore season after he found the end zone seven times in 14 games in his rookie season. So far through five games this year, he has just 12 receptions for 213 yards and one score on 26 targets in a low-scoring and inconsistent offense led by quarterback Jordan Love.

Christian Watson Suffers Myriad Of Injuries In Week 9 Win

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson suffered chest, back, and head injuries during Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Rams. He entered the locker room late in the fourth quarter to be evaluated for a concussion, leaving more opportunities for fellow receivers Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed. Watson finished the day with just one catch for 37 yards, signifying yet another frustrating week for the 24-year-old and his fantasy managers. Given the fact that he's dealing with three separate injuries, his status for Week 10 against the Steelers is certainly up in the air. Fantasy managers should look out for further updates on Watson over the next few days.

Christian Watson Could Have Ceiling Capped Against Los Angeles

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson will take on the Los Angeles Rams in Week 9. The 24-year-old has been quiet the past two weeks and has struggled to get anything going with quarterback Jordan Love in 2023. Even in a plus matchup last weekend against the Minnesota Vikings secondary, Watson caught just three passes for 33 yards. Now, the second-year receiver has to go up against a Rams defense that allows the 10th-fewest fantasy points per game to wide receivers and has given up just four touchdowns, tied for the third-fewest in the league. Watson is still a player who can be in lineups as a flex option due to his explosiveness, but his ceiling seems to be capped this week. Adjust your expectations if you need to start the former first-rounder this weekend.

Christian Watson Does Little In Loss

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson caught three of eight targets for 33 yards during the team's 10-24 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. The second-year receiver finished second in target total on Sunday behind only teammate Romeo Doubs but could not do much with them. Quarterback Jordan Love's accuracy issues affect the entire Green Bay receiving corps, with none being highly fantasy-relevant unless they find the end zone. With so many mouths to feed and the Packers struggling to get into scoring range, the fantasy upside of the former first-round pick is capped at the moment. Watson will be considered a risky flex option next week against the Los Angeles Rams.

Christian Watson Looks To Bounce Back Against Vikings

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson will take on the Minnesota Vikings in Week 8. The 24-year-old caught just three passes for 27 yards against the lowly Denver defense last week and appeared to suffer a knee injury in the closing moments of the game. However, Watson logged full practice participation on Wednesday and is not on the injury report heading into the weekend. The matchup against Minnesota can not get much better. The Vikings allow the seventh-most fantasy points per game to the wide receiver position and have given up the most receptions. Watson has dealt with plenty of injury issues through his first two years in the league, but he has a great matchup Sunday and is capable of producing top-15 numbers if he can find the end zone.

Christian Watson Practices Fully On Wednesday

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (knee) practiced fully on Wednesday. Watson appeared to injure his knee late in Green Bay's Week 7 loss to the Denver Broncos, sparking concern for the oft-injured second-year wideout. His ability to take part in practice fully on Wednesday is a good sign that he must have only tweaked his right knee in the game. Watson should be fine for a Week 8 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, provided he doesn't suffer any mid-week setbacks.

Tests Come Back Clean On Christian Watson

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (knee), who injured his right knee late in the Week 7 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday, said on Monday that tests on his knee came back clean. It means that Watson could have a chance to play in Week 8 against the Minnesota Viking. "I'm just trying to get the initial pain and stuff out of there, and I think I'll be good to go," Watson said. We'll have a better idea of the second-year wideout's Week 8 status once the Packers begin practicing on Wednesday. It's concerning because the 24-year-old had surgery on the same knee last June. Watson didn't make his 2023 debut until Week 4 due to a hamstring injury. He has just eight catches for 143 yards and one TD on the year. If he's unable to play in Week 8, Romeo Doubs and rookies Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks could be busy, especially if Musgrave (ankle) is also out.

Christian Watson Struggles Against Denver

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (knee) caught three of five targets for 27 yards during the team's 17-19 loss to the Denver Broncos. The Packers' entire offense did little to nothing in the first half, while teammates Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed caught the two touchdown passes thrown by quarterback Jordan Love in the second half. The second-year receiver's right knee is even more concerning than the stat line, as he was taken off the field, grabbing it near the end of the game right before Love threw a game-ending interception. There is no official news to report at this time, but stay tuned Monday for more information. Doubs and Reed would be in line to fill in once again as the top two receivers if Watson misses any time and would be decent flex options against the Minnesota Vikings next week.

Christian Watson Looks To Capitalize On Denver Pass Defense

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson will go on the road to take on the Denver Broncos in Week 7. The 24-year-old made his season debut in Week 4 against Detroit and has either found the end zone or gone for over 90 receiving yards in each game since. Coming fresh off the bye week, Watson will look to capitalize on a terrible Denver defense that has had trouble stopping any skill position in 2023. The Broncos are currently ranked middle of the pack against fantasy wide receivers in points per game allowed but are tied for the third-most touchdowns given up to the position. Watson should be considered a solid WR2 in Week 7 with top 15 upside if he can find the end zone.

Christian Watson Tallies 86 Yards In Week 5 Loss

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson caught three of seven targets for 91 yards and lost five yards on his lone carry during the team's 17-13 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday night. The second-year receiver had a massive 77-yard reception in the third quarter that salvaged what would have otherwise been a poor performance. The Packers offense as a whole was abysmal, with quarterback Jordan Love throwing three interceptions and barely completing half of his passes. Brighter days should be ahead for the 24-year-old receiver, with Denver and Minnesota's terrible defense on the schedule after the Packers' Week 6 bye.

The second-year wideout also practiced on Thursday in a limited capacity after making his season debut in Week 4. He doesn't appear to be in any danger of missing the Packers' MNF tilt against the Las Vegas Raiders, barring any setbacks of course. The 24-year-old hauled in 2-of-4 targets for 25 yards and a score in the Week 4 loss to the Detroit Lions and should be more heavily involved in the game plan in Week 5. For now, Watson should be considered a low-end WR2 as he continues to shake off the rust from his hamstring issue.

Christian Watson Still On The Injury Report

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) remains on the injury report for Week 5 after he was listed as a limited practice participant on Thursday. Watson suffered a hamstring injury at the end of training camp and missed the first three games of the regular season as a result. He made his 2023 debut last Thursday in the loss to the Detroit Lions and was eased back in with 26 offensive snaps. The 24-year-old had just two catches in his return, but one of them went for a one-yard touchdown to save his fantasy day. Watson should be available on Monday night to face the Las Vegas Raiders and he should have a bigger role in the passing attack in his second game of the year.

Christian Watson Catches Touchdown In Regular Season Debut

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson caught two of four targets for 25 yards and a score during the team's 34-20 loss to the Detroit Lions. Returning from a hamstring injury that cost him the first three weeks of the season, the 24-year-old played limited snaps but was able to find the end zone and give fantasy managers a decent performance. Romeo Doubs has 25 targets over the past two weeks. With other reliable options like Jayden Reed and Luke Musgrave (concussion), Watson will need to capitalize on big plays to max out his fantasy potential. With that said, the upcoming schedule for the second-year receiver is excellent and will make him a plug-and-play WR2 starting next week against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Christian Watson Making 2023 Debut In Week 4

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) is officially active on Thursday night and will make his season debut in Week 4 against the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field. Watson was trending toward returning all along this week after he missed the first three games of the season. The 24-year-old second-year receiver has big-play ability and should be quarterback Jordan Love's top target when all is said and done this year, but he could have his snaps capped in his first action of the year on a short week. We wouldn't blame you for keeping Watson on your bench if you have other decent options for a flex play. Watson's return will also hurt the ceilings of fellow pass-catchers Romeo Doubs and rookies Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) is expected to make his season debut on Thursday against the Detroit Lions. The second-year wideout suffered a hamstring injury before the start of the regular season and has not been able to suit up yet. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Packers will be cautious with both Watson and running back Aaron Jones (hamstring) in their returns. The 24-year-old is a big play waiting to happen. He scored nine times as a rookie in just 14 games. This week, Watson is better off on your fantasy football bench with the limited snaps he may receive.

Christian Watson Expected To Play Thursday Night

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring), who is listed as questionable for Thursday night's divisional showdown against the Detroit Lions, will make his season debut, barring an unexpected setback, according to a source. It's not a huge surprise after he told reporters he had "planned" to play earlier this week. The 24-year-old had an impressive nine touchdowns as a rookie in 14 games in 2022, so his return will be a big lift for quarterback Jordan Love and Green Bay's offense. The Packers could also be getting top RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) back from a hammy injury of his own, so the offense should be at close to full strength, minus some key offensive linemen up front. Watson has WR2 upside when healthy, but he'll be extra risky in his first start this year with the chance he's eased into the offense.

Christian Watson Is Questionable For TNF

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) is being listed as questionable for Thursday night's matchup against the Detroit Lions. The second-year wideout has yet to play in 2023 as he's been dealing with a hamstring injury since late August. He's been listed as questionable the last two weeks and was unable to play so fantasy managers shouldn't have him in their lineups until they know for certain he is active. Wide receivers Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed would continue to soak up the wide receiver targets if Watson were to miss his fourth straight game on Thursday.

Christian Watson Not Medically Cleared

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said he would love to have wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) available for the first time this year on Thursday night against the Detroit Lions, but LaFleur said Watson hasn't been medically cleared yet. LaFleur didn't say Watson wouldn't play this week but he's not confirming that the plan is for Watson to play. The 24-year-old said earlier on Tuesday that the plan was for him to make his 2023 debut in Week 4 on Thursday night, but it sounds as though the Packers are pumping the brakes on that. Watson will most likely be listed as questionable on the final injury report and could be a game-time decision on Thursday. If he suits up, he could also be eased into the offense in his first game of the year, making him a risky flex play.

Christian Watson Plans To Play Against Lions

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) has yet to make his 2023 season debut due to a lingering hamstring issue. The second-year wideout was considered a breakout candidate this offseason, so his return to the Packers' lineup would be great news for fantasy managers who selected him in preseason drafts. When asked if he will play on Thursday Night Football in Week 4 against the Detroit Lions, Watson said "That's the plan." Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, but he would immediately have upside if he plays. Quarterback Jordan Love has thrown seven touchdowns to just one interception, and Watson is always a threat to score on a long touchdown. That said, he could be at risk of playing limited snaps.

Christian Watson Listed As DNP Monday

The Green Bay Packers didn't have an official practice on Monday, but they listed wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) as a non-participant on their estimated injury report after he missed his third straight game to open the year in Week 3. Watson has put in some limited practices in recent weeks, though, giving the impression that he's on the cusp of making his 2023 debut. However, on a short week, the Packers could decide to hold him out yet again this Thursday night against the Detroit Lions. If the 24-year-old pass-catcher does suit up this week, he'll be in danger of having his snaps limited in his first game of the year. Romeo Doubs has been the team's most productive wideout through three weeks without Watson in the fold, but rookies Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks have also made positive impacts.

Christian Watson Questionable To Make Season Debut

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) has drawn a questionable tag for the Week 3 game on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. Watson has been held out of the first two games of the year, but he practiced on Wednesday and Friday this week while being rested on Thursday. The 24-year-old second-year pass-catcher could end up being a game-time decision, so fantasy managers will need to check back on Sunday morning before deciding whether to plug him into their lineups. Watson is expected to be quarterback Jordan Love's top target this year when healthy, but he'll be a risky flex play for fantasy managers if he makes his debut on Sunday because of the fact that he could be eased into the offense with a hamstring injury that has been bothering him since late in training camp.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) was limited in practice on Wednesday but was held out on Thursday, leading many to believe he suffered a setback with a lingering hamstring issue that he's been dealing with since the end of training camp. However, head coach Matt LaFleur said Watson didn't suffer a setback this week. He was a DNP on Thursday as part of the plan to hold Watson out after he was limited on Wednesday. It's good news, but it still doesn't mean Watson will make his 2023 debut in Week 3 on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. And if the 24-year-old is active Sunday, he may not see a full workload as the Packers look to ease him into the offense.

After returning to a limited practice on Wednesday, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) was unable to practice with the team on Thursday. Watson has missed the first two games of the season and might have tried to do too much at practice on Wednesday before he was ready, so now he's in danger of missing his third straight game to open the 2023 campaign. There's a good chance he'll be listed as questionable yet again on the final Week 3 injury report. The 24-year-old is expected to be quarterback Jordan Love's top target when healthy, but he's had trouble recovering from a lingering hamstring injury he suffered late in training camp. If he misses another game, Romeo Doubs and rookie Jayden Reed will have higher fantasy ceilings again against the New Orleans Saints.

Christian Watson Off To A Good Start This Week

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) was able to do individual drills in practice on Wednesday. Watson was held out of the team's first two regular season games due to a hamstring injury that he picked up late in training camp. He was able to put in a limited practice last Friday and will likely be listed as limited again on Wednesday. The 24-year-old pass-catcher is clearly making progress and could be on track to make his season debut this Sunday at Lambeau Field against the New Orleans Saints. When healthy, Watson should be quarterback Jordan Love's go-to target through the air, but fantasy managers may want to temper expectations if he's active for his first game in Week 3. Romeo Doubs and rookie Jayden Reed have had more opportunities with Watson out.

Jayden Reed Posts Two Touchdowns In Losing Effort

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed caught 4-of-8 targets for 37 yards and two touchdowns during the team's 25-24 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. The rookie made the most of his increased opportunity with Christian Watson (hamstring) out for the second week in a row and was able to account for two of quarterback Jordan Love's three touchdowns thrown. Reed capped off the team's first scoring drive with a nine-yard touchdown on a touch pass that he took around the corner past multiple defenders. The 23-year-old showed off his speed on the play and then was able to find the end zone again on a 10-yard strike at the end of the third quarter. Even when Watson returns, Reed has earned starting reps and will be a solid waiver pickup heading into Week 3. He will be a potential deep league flex option next week against the New Orleans Saints.

He did practice somewhat during the week, so there's a chance he could be ready in Week 3 against the visiting New Orleans Saints. But for now, Romeo Doubs (hamstring) is anticipated to remain Jordan Love's primary target, meaning he's a must-start in all formats. At the same time, Luke Musgrave and Jayden Reed each warrant flex consideration in deeper fantasy setups.

Another Questionable Tag For Christian Watson

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) was able to practice on a limited basis on Friday but was listed as questionable on the final injury report for Week 2 against the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday. Watson didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday, but his return to the practice field on Friday gives him a chance to make his 2023 debut in Atlanta after missing the Week 1 victory over the Chicago Bears. The 24-year-old is expected to lead the team in targets in his second NFL season, but he'll be pretty risky as a flex option in fantasy lineups if he plays on Sunday because he could be on a limited snap count. Romeo Doubs scored two touchdowns in the season opener last week and stands to benefit the most once again if Watson misses another game.

Christian Watson Still Not Practicing Thursday

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) missed yet another practice on Thursday after being with the team for the stretching period. Watson was inactive for the Week 1 victory over the Chicago Bears and has yet to practice this week. The 24-year-old still has a chance to practice on Friday, but at this point, his availability for Sunday's Week 2 contest in Atlanta against the Falcons isn't looking great. Fantasy managers should be preparing as if Watson will miss a second straight game. With the second-year wideout out last weekend, Romeo Doubs operated as the Packers' top pass-catcher. Rookies Jayden Reed and Luke Musgrave will also continue to have higher ceilings this Sunday if Watson remains sidelined.

Watson had a helmet during the team stretch period, but when they went outside to practice, he worked off to the side with the rehab staff. He officially was DNP, but it was more work than he got last week. The 24-year-old didn't practice all last week, either, before being held out of the Week 1 win over the Chicago Bears. Watson appears to be making some progress, but it still might not be enough for him to get the green light to make his 2023 debut this Sunday on the road in Atlanta against the Falcons. If Watson misses a second straight game, Romeo Doubs (hamstring) and rookie tight end Luke Musgrave should once again have more opportunities in the passing game.

Christian Watson Has Better Chance To Play In Week 2

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) said there's "a lot better chance" that he'll make his season debut in Week 2 against the Falcons in Atlanta this Sunday than entering the Week 1 game against the Chicago Bears. However, the wideout is still taking things day by day. To Watson's knowledge, an Injured Reserve stint has never been a possibility. Fantasy managers will have a better idea of whether the 24-year-old will play this weekend after the team practices later this week. If Watson misses another game, Romeo Doubs will continue to serve as the team's No. 1 pass-catcher after he had two touchdowns in the season-opening victory over the Bears on Sunday.

Christian Watson Ruled Out For Week 1

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's season opener against the Chicago Bears. He was unable to practice on Wednesday or Thursday due to the injury and evidently won't be healthy in time for kickoff on Sunday. With Romeo Doubs (hamstring) questionable, we could see a heavy reliance on the running backs, followed by increased volume for Samori Toure, Luke Musgrave, and Tucker Kraft.

Christian Watson Held Out Of Practice Thursday

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson was held out of practice for the second day in a row on Thursday while he deals with a hamstring injury. After a slow start to his rookie season, Watson drew 6.5 targets per game in Week 10 through Week 17 and caught all seven of his touchdowns in that span. The Packers were hopeful that their second-year wideout could pick up where he left off and have him listed at the top of the team's wide receiver depth chart. His status for Week 1 against the Bears is now in question. Fantasy managers invested in Watson should monitor the news between now and Sunday and have a backup plan ready.

Christian Watson Dealing With Hamstring Injury

Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) was held out of practice on Wednesday due to a hamstring injury. Fellow wideout Romeo Doubs (hamstring) also didn't practice, which suddenly leaves the Packers receiving corps very thin heading into their Week 1 regular season opener this Sunday against the Chicago Bears. The 24-year-old Watson is expected to be quarterback Jordan Love's top target this year, but fantasy managers may have to pivot away from him right away, depending on whether he's able to return to practice later this week. If one or both of Watson/Doubs are unavailable this Sunday, rookie receiver Jayden Reed and rookie tight end Luke Musgrave could be busy against Chicago. Keep an eye on the situation in the coming days.

Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs Not Practicing Wednesday

Green Bay Packers wide receivers Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs (hamstring) are not practicing on Wednesday and will be listed on the team's first official injury report, according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. Doubs has been out of practice all week, but Watson's injury appears to be a new development. It's unclear what is holding Watson out of practice, but we will know more after the injury report is released. The Packers square off against the Chicago Bears on Sunday in the Week 1 season-opener, and being without both wideouts would be a letdown for quarterback Jordan Love. Jayden Reed should see plenty of additional targets if either or both wideouts miss the game.
