  • Alec Pierce Posts Goose Egg In Week 12 Loss To Pittsburgh

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce failed to catch any of his two targets in the Colts' 24-17 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 12. The Colts' rookie wideout was targeted early, but faded out of the game plan in favor of tight end Jelani Woods. With the Colts offense struggling to consistently function at a professional level, Pierce's zeroes may become mainstays in the fantasy football world. The Colts seemingly always finding themselves in close games could work in the favor of Pierce and other Colts' skill position players, however. But with too many mouths to feed in Indianapolis, it will be hard to trust Pierce as anything more than a boom-or-bust WR4 in Week 13.

  • Alec Pierce A Volatile Option In Week 12

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce has consistently operated as the third wideout for the Colts, working behind both Michael Pittman Jr. and Parris Campbell. However, he did see his second-highest target total last week against the Philadelphia Eagles with eight. With the Colts passing attack seemingly always operating at a high-volume level, Pierce should maintain his floor of a few targets a game. With an easier matchup against the Steelers, he does have slightly higher upside this week. Consider Pierce a risk/reward WR4 in Week 12.

  • Alec Pierce Hauls In One Reception In Week 9 Loss

Indianapolis Colts rookie wide receiver Alec Pierce caught one of two targets for 23 yards in Sunday's loss to the New England Patriots. Pierce actually ended up leading the Colts in receiving with 23 yards, which was one more yard than Michael Pittman Jr.. However, Pittman more targets. Pierce continues to operate as a distant No. 2/3 receiver for the Colts, which doesn't result in a lot of volume in this uninspiring offense. Pierce can be considered a dart-throw WR4/5 in deeper leagues as a big-play threat for Indianapolis.

  • Alec Pierce Continues To Be Volatile Fantasy Option

Indianapolis Colts rookie wide receiver Alec Pierce has operated consistently as the No. 3 wideout for the Colts, playing 54% of the snaps compared to Parris Campbell's 86%. Since Week 3, he's seen at least 37 yards in every game and at least four targets. However, he's only had two top-20 fantasy finishes since then. While Pierce remains an interesting name to monitor, he should not be in starting lineups in Week 9 or in the foreseeable future in standard-sized leagues. Keep an eye on his development with new Colts starting quarterback Sam Ehlinger, as his stronger arm may prove beneficial to Pierce's skillset.

  • Alec Pierce Finishes With 65 Yards

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce was the lone downfield weapon for this offense on Sunday. The rookie wideout hauled in Sam Ehlinger's only deep shot during the Week 8 loss to the Washington Commanders. It was only one play, but hopefully the two of them can build down the field chemistry together. Pierce finished the day with three receptions for 65 yards in the loss. Fantasy managers should consider Pierce a high-end WR4 for the upcoming matchup against the New England Patriots.

  • Alec Pierce Posts Quiet Game

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce appears to have fallen on the depth chart. Fellow wideout Parris Campbell has seen back-to-back 10-plus target games. That being said, Pierce has turned into the No. 3 option in this Colts passing game. The rookie wideout hauled in three of his four targets for 37 yards in the Week 7 loss to the Tennessee Titans. Luckily for him, the Colts continue to pass the ball at an absurd rate. That being said, Pierce should continue to be rostered, but isn't an ideal starting option next week. He should be considered a WR4 for their Week 8 matchup against the Washington Commanders.

  • Alec Pierce A Possible WR3

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce has quietly put together a decent campaign through the first six weeks. The rookie wideout has recorded 15 receptions, 210 yards, and one touchdown over the last three games. He's getting more involved in this offense and is becoming a focal point in the passing game. That being said, fantasy managers should be able to trust him as a possible WR3 for the upcoming matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Pierce caught four balls for 80 yards during their last meeting in Week 4. He should be able to continue doing damage on Sunday.

  • Alec Pierce Has Sneaky WR3 Appeal

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce is coming off his best game as a pro during last week's win over the Denver Broncos. The rookie wideout hauled in eight receptions on nine targets for 81 yards. That marks back-to-back contests that Pierce has recorded at least 80 receiving yards. The 22-year-old has become the No. 2 option behind Michael Pittman Jr. in this offense. Clearly, the Colts want to get Pierce involved, which means he should continue to have fantasy value. Fantasy managers should be able to trust Pierce as a WR3 for the upcoming matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 6.

  • Alec Pierce Snags Eight Receptions

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce has been surprisingly solid for this offense over the last few weeks. He continued his strong stretch of play against the Denver Broncos in Week 5. The rookie wideout hauled in eight of his nine targets for 81 yards in the win over the Broncos on Thursday Night Football. It was an ugly game, but at least Pierce was able to make the most out of it. He is quickly putting his name of the fantasy radar with his solid play. He could be a possible low-end flex option heading into Week 6.

  • Alec Pierce Has Low-End Flex Appeal

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce is coming off a decent three-catch performance in Week 4. He could see an increased workload with featured back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) on the sideline. That being said, the Colts will likely need to lean on the passing game more against the Denver Broncos on Thursday night. All of the pressure will be on Michael Pittman Jr. because he'll be the Colts best offensive player. That being said, Pierce could have a chance to make some big plays with little focus on him. The Broncos secondary is fairly strong, but Pierce still makes for a possible low-end flex option in PPR formats.

  • Alec Pierce Has Possible Deep League Value

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce is coming off a strong 61-yard performance in the win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The rookie wideout has a chance to carry that momentum into the upcoming matchup against the Tennessee Titans. A defense that has struggled to contain wide receivers this season. The Colts don't have many reliable wideouts on this roster. Pierce has a chance to become the No. 2 option in Indy. He's not a great fantasy option right now, but does have potential. Pierce should be considered a flex option in deep leagues, but probably isn't worth starting outside of that.

  • Alec Pierce Goes Over 60 Yards

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce made his return to the field during the Week 3 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. He missed Week 2 due to a concussion, but made sure to make an impact in his return. In Week 3, Pierce finished with three receptions on five targets for 61 yards in the win. The rookie wideout was finally able to make some noise on the field. Hopefully, Pierce will be able to carry this success over into his next few contests. Although, fantasy managers shouldn't have much faith in the anyone outside of Michael Pittman Jr. and Jonathan Taylor on this offense. Pierce is worth holding in dynasty formats, but can be avoided basically everywhere else.

  • Alec Pierce Will Play In Week 3

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce (concussion) has cleared concussion protocol and will play in Week 3. The Colts will now get back Michael Pittman Jr. (quadriceps) along with Pierce, in what should be a high-scoring affair with the Kansas City Chiefs. Pierce didn't record a catch on two targets in his NFL debut, so he is a hard player to trust in fantasy lineups given how involved Jonathan Taylor and Pittman Jr. will be in the offense. Fantasy managers should find better options to slot into their lineups until he can establish a prominent role as one of Matt Ryan's go-to pass-catchers.

  • Alec Pierce Returns To Practice On Wednesday

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce (concussion) was able to return to practice on Wednesday. The rookie wideout was unable to play in Week 2 due to a concussion. His absence gave way for Ashton Dulin to haul in five receptions for 79 yards. The expectation is that Dulin will go back to a rotational role once the Colts get healthy. Pierce is expected to play in Week 3, but remains off the fantasy radar in most formats.

  • Shaquille Leonard, Alec Pierce Ruled Out For Week 2

Indianapolis Colts linebacker Shaquille Leonard (back) and wide receiver Alec Pierce (concussion) have both been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game versus the Jacksonville Jaguars. Although Leonard practiced in full on Wednesday and Thursday, it appears he'll still miss his second consecutive game. Meanwhile, Pierce made real progress but was unable to clear the concussion protocol in time. It will be important to monitor Colts injury updates over the next few days since wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (quad) is listed as questionable. If Pittman joins Pierce on the inactive list, Parris Campbell would serve as the team's No. 1 wide receiver.

  • Alec Pierce Making Progress

Indianapolis Colts rookie wide receiver Alec Pierce (head), who is in the league's concussion protocol, was upgraded to a limited practice on Thursday after he didn't practice on Wednesday. Pierce hasn't been cleared for contact yet, but he's clearly making progress after suffering a concussion in the Week 1 tie with the Houston Texans. Still, the 22-year-old will likely be questionable for Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. With No. 1 receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (quadriceps) also on the injury report this week, Parris Campbell, Ashton Dulin and Mike Strachan could be looking at bigger roles in Week 2. Pierce, who was a standout during training camp, failed to catch his only two targets in the season opener while playing 51% of the offensive snaps.

  • Alec Pierce In The Concussion Protocol

Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich said that rookie wide receiver Alec Pierce (head) developed concussion symptoms after the tie in Week 1 to the Houston Texans and is now in the league's concussion protocol. The 22-year-old second-rounder took a huge hit in the game that bent his facemask. It remains to be seen if he'll be able to get cleared before the team's Week 2 contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday. Pierce played 51 percent of the snaps in his NFL debut last Sunday failed to catch either of his two targets. If he is forced to sit this weekend, Michael Pittman Jr. and Parris Campbell will be the team's top two receivers, with Ashton Dulin, Dezmon Patmon and Mike Strachan battling for the No. 3 role. Pass-catching running back Nyheim Hines, who caught all six of his targets in the opener, could be used more as a receiver as well.

  • Alec Pierce Unlikely To Have Success In Week 1

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce has quietly been making a strong impact during training camp. The rookie wideout is expected to compete with Parris Campbell for the No. 2 role in Indy. However, it's unlikely that Pierce has a ton of fantasy value to begin the season. He's still learning this system and offensive scheme, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect too much. Pierce is worth holding in deep leagues and is certainly a strong dynasty option. Although, he's unlikely to have a big game versus the Houston Texans in Week 1.

  • Alec Pierce Could Have Significant Targets

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce has slid under the radar early during training camp. There hasn't been much noise surrounding the Colts' second round wideout. Despite that, Pierce could very well surprise people this season. James Boyd of The Athletic believes Pierce could see more targets than fellow receiver Parris Campbell. The expectation is that Pierce will line up as the No. 2 receiver to begin the season. The Colts could be a more pass-heavy offense after mentioning they don't want to overwork running back Jonathan Taylor. The Colts were high on Pierce on draft day, so clearly he's going to be in their offensive plan. He should be stashed in most standard leagues to begin the season.

  • Alec Pierce Could Be A Red-Zone Weapon

The Athletic's James Boyd expects Indianapolis Colts rookie wide receiver Alec Pierce to see more red-zone targets this year than Parris Campbell, given Pierce's physical attributes (6-foot-3, 211 pounds) and his ability to win jump balls. The 53rd overall pick in this year's draft looked the part in training camp and is a more versatile and valuable option than Campbell, who has had an injury riddled career to this point. Neither receiver is likely to be selected in 12-team leagues to begin the season, but Pierce is one to watch early on. Michael Pittman Jr., who will be quarterback Matt Ryan's top target, is a breakout candidate and has WR1 upside in 2022 in fantasy.
