  • Trey McBride Arrives In Week 13 Upset Win

    Headshot for Trey McBride

Arizona Cardinals tight-end Trey McBride hauled in eight catches for 89 yards and a touchdown in the team's 24-10 Week 13 win over Pittsburgh. McBride has arrived, as he had six more catches, six more targets, and 68 more receiving yards on the day than any other player in the Arizona offense. It was an excellent performance highlighted by three catches of at least 15 yards, including a five-yard TD just before halftime. Since quarterback Kyler Murray returned, McBride has at least 60 receiving yards in three of four contests and appears to be attempting to make a run at upper-tier status for the position by the end of the year. McBride and the rest of the Cardinals will have a Week 14 bye before a tough Week 15 showdown against the 49ers.

  • Trey McBride Will Play On Sunday

    Headshot for Trey McBride

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride (groin), who was listed as questionable for Week 13, is officially active on Sunday and will play against the Steelers in Pittsburgh. It was reported Saturday that McBride was expected to be available for this contest, and now it's official. Fantasy managers need to leave the 24-year-old locked into their starting fantasy lineups this weekend as a strong TE1 option. McBride only has one touchdown on the year in 12 games played, but in the last three games with quarterback Kyler Murray back from Injured Reserve, he's posted 20 receptions on 25 targets for 234 yards. The Steelers defense hasn't been the friendliest for opposing tight ends in 2023, but McBride needs to be started regardless.

  • Trey McBride Anticipated To Play Against Pittsburgh

    Headshot for Trey McBride

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride (groin) is likely good to go for Sunday's game versus the Steelers. He missed practice on Wednesday before logging limited sessions on Thursday and Friday, earning him a questionable tag for Week 13. But it appears Kyler Murray will have two of his top receiving options, with Marquise Brown (heel) also expected to be on the field. Nevertheless, McBride has been more involved of late, catching 33 of his 44 targets for 351 yards and a touchdown in his last five games, giving him credibility for all fantasy lineups.

  • Trey McBride Iffy For Week 13 Action

    Headshot for Trey McBride

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride (groin) was listed as questionable for the Week 13 contest on Sunday in Pittsburgh against the Steelers. McBride did not practice on Wednesday before putting in limited sessions on Thursday and Friday, so he appears to be on the right side of questionable for this one. However, fantasy managers are going to want to check back on Sunday morning to make sure he's officially active. The 24-year-old has emerged as a favorite target of quarterback Kyler Murray and has 20 catches on 25 targets for 234 yards in the three games since Murray returned from Injured Reserve. If McBride suits up this Sunday, fantasy managers should leave him in their starting lineups against the Steelers.

  • Trey McBride Limited On Thursday

    Headshot for Trey McBride

Updating a previous report, Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride (groin) was listed as a limited participant at Thursday's practice after missing Wednesday's session. It was reported earlier on Thursday that McBride didn't practice, but he returned to the field after the portion open to the media. The 24-year-old could end up taking a questionable tag into Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the fact that he was able to do something at practice on Thursday bodes well for his availability this weekend. Zach Ertz was released by Arizona on Thursday, meaning McBride will be the team's unquestioned top tight end the rest of the way. In three games with quarterback Kyler Murray back under center, McBride has been a strong TE1 option for fantasy managers.

  • Trey McBride Not Practicing For Second Straight Day

    Headshot for Trey McBride

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride (groin) was not practicing on Thursday for the second straight day during the period open to the media. McBride's availability for the Week 13 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers is now in question, although he still has one more day on Friday to get back on the practice field. The 24-year-old has emerged as a strong TE1 option in fantasy since quarterback Kyler Murray returned from Injured Reserve, as McBride has 20 catches on 25 targets for 234 yards in the last three games while working with Murray. If McBride is unable to play this weekend, Geoff Swaim would step into a bigger role as Arizona's top tight end, but he wouldn't be a worthwhile streaming target, even in a week with six teams on bye.

  • Trey McBride Misses Practice On Wednesday

    Headshot for Trey McBride

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride (groin) didn't practice on Wednesday. The 24-year-old is coming off one of his best games of the season, collecting seven of his nine targets for 60 yards. However, he's currently battling a groin issue, although only time will tell if he'll suit up in Week 12 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Marquise Brown (heel) and Michael Wilson (shoulder) also weren't in attendance for Wednesday's session, so it could be a rough week for Kyler Murray. At any rate, Zach Ertz (quadriceps) remains on the injured reserve list, meaning Geoff Swaim, who has just 12 catches this season, could be the next man up if McBride doesn't play.

  • Trey McBride Continues His Elite Production

    Headshot for Trey McBride

Arizona Cardinals tight-end Trey McBride corralled seven of nine targets for 60 yards in the Cardinals' Week 12 37-14 loss to the Rams on Sunday. The second-year tight end finished as the team leader in receptions and continues to produce for Arizona and quarterback Kyler Murray. McBride has tallied at least five receptions in four of his last five games and will look to add to his already impressive level of play in the wake of veteran Zach Ertz's (quad) injury. In Week 13, McBride and the rest of the Arizona passing game will head to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers.

  • Trey McBride A Must Start In Week 12

    Headshot for Trey McBride

Arizona Cardinal's tight end Trey McBride finished second on the team in receptions and targets in the Week 11 loss to the Houston Texans, showcasing his elite ability. In Week 12, Arizona will match up against the L.A. Rams, who boast the 9th best defense against the pass. Despite this, McBride should remain heavily involved in the team's passing attack, as the Rams have surprisingly struggled against opposing tight ends. With a re-emerging Kyler Murray under center, McBride is positioned to be at or near the top of the team lead in targets and receptions once again. Due to his elite involvement in the offense, McBride projects as a solid option at the position and should be viewed as a TE1 on volume alone.

  • Trey McBride With Quiet Day In Week 11

    Headshot for Trey McBride

Arizona Cardinals tight-end Trey McBride corralled five of seven targets for 43 yards in the team's 21-16 loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday. While McBride continued to be a focal point of the Arizona offense, he wasn't able to match his production from the previous two weeks. Despite the quiet day, he still finished second on the team in receptions and targets while being third in receiving yards, and the young tight-end has at least five receptions in three of his past four games. He should remain a quality piece of the Arizona passing attack and will look to get back on track in a Week 12 showdown against the division-rival Rams.

  • Trey McBride A High-End TE1

    Headshot for Trey McBride

Arizona Cardinal's tight end Trey McBride should be considered a TE1 in Week 11 against the Houston Texans. In Week 10, McBride caught eight of nine targets for 131 yards and showcased his elite talent. Since Week 8, McBride ranks second in target share, third in air-yard share, and second in YPRR among all tight ends. He has also been at or near the top in almost all other receiving metrics. In Week 11 he goes up against a Houston Texans defense that has allowed the highest fantasy points per game and the fifth-highest receiving yards per game to the position. The matchup is a juicy one, and McBride should have a field day in this game. He remains a starting option at the position for Week 11.

  • Trey McBride Goes Ham In Week 10 Win

    Headshot for Trey McBride

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride reeled in eight of nine targets for 131 yards during Sunday's 25-23 Week 10 victory against the Atlanta Falcons. McBride dominated the Cardinals receivers, leading the team in targets, receptions, and receiving yards on the day. This is only the second time in nine games that McBride has surpassed 40 receiving yards, and it's clear quarterback Kyler Murray looked his way early and often. Murray has a track record of consistently involving tight ends in the passing game, and perhaps the connection displayed between the two will be the norm moving forward. McBride will look to keep the good times rolling in Week 11 when the Cardinals take on the Houston Texans.

  • Trey McBride A Week 10 TE1

    Headshot for Trey McBride

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride should be considered a TE1 in Week 10 against the Atlanta Falcons. Since Week 8, McBride has posted insane under-the-radar numbers, as he's registered a 33.3% target share, 41.7% air-yard share, and a 2.13 YPRR. That suggests elite usage, and even though rookie quarterback Clayton Tune decided to inexplicably not use his talented tight end in Week 9, that should change in Week 10. Quarterback Kyler Murray (knee) is expected to make his long-awaited season debut, and that alone should help McBride succeed. Add to it the fact that the Falcons have allowed the tenth-highest number of fantasy points per game to tight ends, and the opportunity is there for McBride to get back to TE1 status. Fantasy managers should start him with confidence.

  • Trey McBride Puts Up A Week 9 Dud

    Headshot for Trey McBride

Arizona Cardinal's tight end Trey McBride caught 3-of-5 targets for 22 yards in the Cardinals' 27-0 loss to the Cleveland Browns. McBride and the rest of the Cardinals couldn't get anything going against a stingy Browns defense and produced a dud of a game. It was clear rookie quarterback Clayton Tune's struggles impacted McBride's production throughout the day. On a semi-positive note, McBride's catch and yardage stats ended up second on the team. With this loss now in the rearview mirror, McBride could reemerge in Week 10 if Kyler Murray (knee) were to make his season debut.

  • Trey McBride A Week 9 TE1

    Headshot for Trey McBride

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride blew up last week against the Baltimore Ravens. Taking the place of the injured Zach Ertz (quadriceps), McBride ended up with a career day. McBride is a very talented TE and currently ranks fifth in receiving grade and second in YPRR, second only to Travis Kelce. Going up against a Ravens secondary last week that had been solid against tight ends, McBride roasted them. In Week 9, he is set to match up against a Cleveland pass defense that has been far less effective against the position. With the Cardinals set to start a rookie quarterback in Clayton Tune, odds are good McBride will be the main check-down option for the young signal caller. With that in mind, McBride is quickly rising the ranks and should be a TE1 for the week.

  • Trey McBride Explodes With 95 Yards In Week 8

    Headshot for Trey McBride

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride exploded with 10 receptions on 14 targets for 95 yards and one touchdown in the Cardinals' 31-24 loss to the Ravens on Sunday. McBride ended up with a career day and was quarterback Joshua Dobb's favorite target in the defeat. With this game, the 2022 second-round pick upped his receiving total to 25-265-1 on the season. McBride will be the team's starting tight end for at least the next three weeks while Zach Ertz (quadriceps) remains sidelined, and should remain fantasy-viable. He's worth considering as a low-end fantasy TE1 against the Cleveland Browns in Week 9.

  • Trey McBride A Week 8 TE2

    Headshot for Trey McBride

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride is in line for an expanded workload when the team faces off against the Baltimore Ravens. This week the team placed veteran starter Zach Ertz on IR (quadriceps), opening the door for McBride to make an impact. Over the past two weeks, McBride has started to become a bit of a check-down option for quarterback Joshua Dobbs, as he's hauled in seven of 11 targets for 91 yards. With Ertz out for the foreseeable future, McBride instantly becomes the Cardinal's No.1 TE, and currently ranks fourth in TPRR (25%) and third in YPRR (2.10) among tight ends. The bad news is that the Week 8 showdown is a brutal one, as the Ravens have allowed the third-fewest receiver yards and the third-lowest yards per reception to tight ends. Despite his potential, the tough matchup makes McBride no more than a TE2.

  • Trey McBride Collects Six Targets In Loss

    Headshot for Trey McBride

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride had three receptions on six targets for 29 yards in the team's 20-10 loss to Seattle. McBride ended up as one of the top two receiving options for quarterback Joshua Dobbs for the second week in a row. It appears that the Cardinals may also be attempting to shift from veterans to younger players mid-season, as the 2nd year tight-end finished ahead of incumbent starter Zach Ertz in terms of receiving usage. With Ertz still in the mix for the time being, McBride's short-term fantasy value is capped. However, should the Cardinals continue to look his way in the passing game, he could become a hot waiver-wire add in the coming weeks. McBride will look to continue his production in Week 8 at home against the Ravens.
