Khalil Shakir Still In Play In Week 12

If you had to guess which player led the way in full-PPR fantasy points per target among qualifiers, we bet you wouldn't guess Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir. Shakir is also pacing eligible wideouts in catch rate (88.0%) and sits second in yards per target (14.5). Buffalo's shift to a lesser amount of 12-personnel sets offensively without Dawson Knox (wrist, IR) has worked straight to Shakir's benefit, as he's averaging 72.6 yards with two total touchdowns in five career games sans Knox since 2022. Floating around 70% of the team's offensive snaps over this interval, Shakir is a perfectly viable WR3/4 option with a low floor and high ceiling in anticipation of arguably the most attractive game environment of Sunday's slate against the Philadelphia Eagles. Philly's defense has given up the second-most points per game to slot receivers (20.3) this year, per Razzball.

Khalil Shakir Dusts Jets For 2023's Longest Pass Play

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir generated a team-high 115 yards on three receptions (four targets) as his team blasted the New York Jets 32-6 in Week 11 on Sunday. Shakir's highlight of the day came as he eluded the defense for a nifty 81-yard touchdown in the third quarter, reeling in a perfectly placed Josh Allen strike and outrunning Gang Green's converging defense toward the house. It was easily a career day for the 23-year-old, who had never topped the 100-yard threshold in any game prior. Tight end Dawson Knox (wrist) is eligible to come off short-term injured reserve following his wrist surgery in the Week 12 duel with the Philadelphia Eagles, which could put a damper on Shakir's outlook as a waiver-wire pickup for that matchup. Shakir is averaging 3.5 receptions (4.0 targets) and 72.0 yards over his last four tries without Knox around.

Khalil Shakir Not A Recommended Streamer

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir pinged the fantasy radar when tight end Dawson Knox (wrist, IR) went down with a wrist injury after the Week 7 road loss to the New England Patriots. Shakir has played at least 64.7% of Buffalo's offensive snaps in each outing since Knox went on the mend, most recently participating in a career-high 75.9% in the rough Week 10 defeat to the Denver Broncos. Shakir next squares off with an intimidating New York Jets defense on Sunday that's stifled WRs for the fewest fantasy points per game (22.1). Gang Green has been no more generous to slot men, permitting a miniscule 5.6 points per game from the slot, per Razzball. The 23-year-old is on the low-end streaming map for his role in three-receiver sets on a high-octane Bills offense with Knox out, but Shakir is no greater than a WR4/flex dart throw in a rigid Week 11 setup.

Khalil Shakir Worth Streaming In Week 10

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir has entered fantasy conversations with his increased productivity in two games since Week 8, reeling in all 10 targets for 144 yards. Shakir has capitalized on heightened opportunity with Dawson Knox (wrist, IR) out of the lineup in a small career sample size, averaging 4.3 catches (5.0 targets) for 73.0 yards with one total touchdown on a 69.6% snap share in three games without Knox since 2022. Buffalo's forced transition to a heavier number of three-receiver sets has directly benefitted the second-year man out of Boise State, who is generating the eighth-most yards (11.8) and third-most fantasy points per target (2.44) among WRs on the campaign. It remains to be seen if Shakir's promising efficiency will earn him more attention in Week 10 versus the Denver Broncos; he's never commanded greater than six targets in any one career game. The 23-year-old slot man should still be treated as a WR4/flex streamer until Knox gets back.

Khalil Shakir On The Radar In Week 9

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir came away from Week 8's victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a clean sweep of season highs in snap share (64.7%), routes (31), targets (six), catches (six), and yards (92). On two occasions with tight end Dawson Knox (wrist, IR) inactive, Shakier now totes a 9/167/1 combined receiving line dating back to 2022. The 23-year-old should continue to operate as the primary beneficiary of Buffalo electing to employ more three-receiver sets during a possible Week 9 shootout with the Cincinnati Bengals. Shakir is certainly more attractive in single-game DFS contests for Sunday Night Football showdowns, but he's also gotten himself on the map as a WR4/5 in deep season-long leagues.

Khalil Shakir Earns Team-High Receiving Yardage

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir surprised during Week 8's 24-18 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, hauling in all six of his targets for a team-leading 92 receiving yards. Shakir did most of his damage in a four-catch, 69-yard first quarter, as this one really came out of left field. The 23-year-old logged greater than 35 receiving yards in just one career game out of 21 entering play, which was a 3/75/1 receiving line in Week 5, 2022. This is worth highlighting because Dawson Knox (wrist, IR) was not active for that game, either. Shakir technically entered the season as Buffalo's favorite for slot duties, but the opportunity hadn't been there up until Thursday. The former fifth-round pick is worth a speculative deep-league waiver-wire add to see if Shakir's role sticks during Week 9 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
