  • Jake Ferguson Hauls In All Three Targets Thursday

Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson hauled in all three of his targets for 57 yards during the team's Thanksgiving Day victory over the New York Giants. The 23-year-old has looked fine in a depth role this season, racking up 14 catches, 140 yards, and two touchdowns through 11 games. Despite looking solid this year, he is still the Cowboys' No. 2 tight end and should be left on waivers in all fantasy leagues.

  • Jake Ferguson Scores His First Touchdown In Week 6

Dallas Cowboys rookie tight end Jake Ferguson scored the first touchdown of his NFL career in a Week 6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Ferguson was starting in place of Dalton Schultz (knee) and ended up catching four passes for 40 yards and a touchdown. He was targeted six times, with both his catches and yards ending up second on the team. Ferguson has shown the ability to step in and succeed, but Schultz will easily regain his starter's role once he's healthy. Ferguson may be worth a roster spot in deeper dynasty formats, but in redraft leagues he can remain on the waiver wire.

  • Jake Ferguson Makes His First Two NFL Catches In Week 3

Dallas Cowboys rookie tight end Jake Ferguson made the first two catches of his NFL career in a Week 3 win over the New York Giants. Ferguson split starting duties with fellow rookie Peyton Hendershot due to an injury keeping Dalton Schultz (knee) on the sidelines. Ferguson was targeted three times, making two catches for 13 yards. Meanwhile, Hendershot saw three targets as well, but he caught all three and gained 43 yards. Neither rookie tight end will have much if any fantasy value when Schultz returns, and that could be as soon as Week 4.

  • Jake Ferguson Could Start In Week 3

Dallas Cowboys rookie tight end Jake Ferguson could get the start in a Week 3 matchup against the New York Giants. With starter Dalton Schultz (knee) questionable at best after suffering an injury in Week 2, Ferguson could be the next guy up. With Cooper Rush filling in at quarterback and not targeting his tight end very often though, Ferguson would be buried in the TE3 ranks, and wouldn't be worth a start. Especially with Schultz not expected to miss much time, if any, Ferguson can likely be left on the waiver wire in most leagues.

  • Jake Ferguson Praised By Head Coach

Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy offered praise for tight end Jake Ferguson, explaining that the rookie is "definitely exactly what his profile was when he drafted him. He's what we need, too." This report aligns with recent speculation that the Cowboys could run plenty of 12 personnel this coming season, which would allow for a second tight end (like Ferguson) on the field, rather than a third wide receiver (like Noah Brown). A better receiver than blocker, Ferguson might not have a clear path to fantasy relevance since he plays behind Dalton Schultz, but he could still exceed expectations in his first pro season.

  • Jake Ferguson Expected To Play A Lot

The Athletic's Bob Sturm writes that Dallas Cowboys rookie fourth-round tight end Jake Ferguson is expected to play more than people think in 2022. Blake Jarwin played 37 snaps a game the first seven games of the 2021 season and Dalton Schultz played 56. Sturm thinks the Cowboys will around 36 12-personnel (two tight ends) snaps per game early in the year. Instead of rookie Jalen Tolbert or another receiver stepping up as the third option behind CeeDee Lamb and Schultz with Michael Gallup (knee) injured to open the year, it could be Ferguson. The Cowboys were much more explosive with two tight ends on the field early last year. The 23-year-old is more attractive in dynasty/keeper formats, but he could be a popular waiver-wire pickup if Schultz misses any time this year due to injury.
