  • George Pickens A Strong Option In Week 3

    Headshot for George Pickens

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens scored as a top-12 fantasy wideout in Week 2 and will look to keep the momentum going in a Week 3 bout with the Las Vegas Raiders. With Diontae Johnson (hamstring) on Injured Reserve, Pickens should continue to be the favorite target of quarterback Kenny Pickett. Pickens will have a great shot to repeat the success he found last week as Las Vegas has surrendered the 10th-most fantasy points to opposing receivers so far this season. Even if he doesn't manage to find the end zone again on Sunday night, Pickens should see enough opportunities to post a solid performance as a fantasy WR2.

  • George Pickens Dominates In Week 2 Win

    Headshot for George Pickens

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens finished with four receptions for 127 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets in a 26-22 victory over the Cleveland Browns. The 22-year-old led Pittsburgh's pass-catchers in targets and yards on Monday night and was the team's only offensive player to find the end zone. He did so after getting wide open over the middle of the field and taking a pass from quarterback Kenny Pickett 71 yards to the house. With Diontae Johnson (hamstring) on Injured Reserve, Pickens should continue to be the clear WR1 for the Steelers through their Week 6 bye. Pickens will look to capitalize on his opportunity once again in Week 3 in a soft matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.

  • George Pickens Limited In Practice On Saturday

    Headshot for George Pickens

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens (hamstring) was limited in practice on Saturday and was subsequently added to the team's Week 2 injury report. Despite sustaining a hamstring injury, the 22-year-old was not given an injury designation and thus is expected to suit up against the Cleveland Browns on Monday night. With Diontae Johnson (hamstring) officially inactive, Pickens, Allen Robinson II, and Calvin Austin III will lead Pittsburgh's receiver corps as primary targets for quarterback Kenny Pickett. Pickens offers the highest upside of the bunch for fantasy purposes and should be considered a WR3 or flex option.

  • George Pickens - Week 2 Outlook for Fantasy Football

    Headshot for George Pickens

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens had a modest Week 1 showing but is in line for a much bigger opportunity in a Week 2 bout with the Cleveland Browns. The Steelers will be without Diontae Johnson (hamstring) for Monday night's contest, so Pickens should operate as the clear WR1 for quarterback Kenny Pickett. The Browns pose a difficult test for wide receivers, however, as they allowed the sixth-fewest fantasy points to the position in 2022. Despite the difficult matchup, Pickens could still find success based on talent and volume and should be considered a solid fantasy WR3 or flex option this week.

  • George Pickens Sees Seven Targets In Week 1 Loss

    Headshot for George Pickens

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens hauled in five of his seven targets for 36 yards in a 30-7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. It was a day to forget for the entirety of Pittsburgh's offense, but Pickens was just inches away from getting both feet in bounds on yet another highlight reel catch. Quarterback Kenny Pickett will need to play much better than he did on Sunday for Pickens to offer consistent fantasy value, but more opportunities could be available for the 22-year-old if Diontae Johnson (hamstring) misses extended time. Pickens is worth holding onto in all fantasy formats and could be an interesting WR3 or flex option in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns.

  • George Pickens Looking For A Hot Start In Season Opener

    Headshot for George Pickens

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens flashed his potential as a rookie and will be looking to put together a more statistically impressive campaign in 2023. In Week 1, he'll get to take on a San Francisco 49ers defense that allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing wideouts last season. Pickens will compete for looks with consistent target-earner Diontae Johnson but offers plenty of upside as a downfield threat with impressive ball skills. Although the second-year man isn't a proven fantasy commodity quite yet, he should be considered an intriguing WR3 or flex play to open the season.

  • George Pickens Ready For Second-Year Leap?

    Headshot for George Pickens

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens is extremely athletic, leading ESPN analyst Ryan Clark to say that he thinks Pickens is more athletic than Vikings All-Pro wideout Justin Jefferson. The Athletic's Mark Kaboly thinks Pickens could be a WR1 on many fantasy teams in his second season with quarterback Kenny Pickett already firing on all cylinders. Kaboly goes on to explain that Pickens' route tree has expanded significantly from his rookie season. His ability to go across the middle of the field is going to bump his targets and catches from a year ago, when he posted a 52-801-4 line in 17 games (12 starts). The 22-year-old is also another year removed from an ACL tear he suffered in 2021. Pickens will be an extremely intriguing upside WR3 target in fantasy drafts.

  • George Pickens Makes Highlight-Reel Grab In Preseason Finale

    Headshot for George Pickens

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens secured his only target for 35 yards in the team's 24-0 preseason win over the Atlanta Falcons. Pickens, as he often does, made an acrobatic catch near the sideline on a beautiful deep pass from quarterback Kenny Pickett on Pittsburgh's first drive of the contest. The second-year man has been a standout in camp this summer and displayed great chemistry with Pickett throughout the preseason. With an ADP currently in the seventh round of fantasy drafts, Pickens could be worth a shot as a high-upside WR3.

  • George Pickens Looks Improved In Camp

    Headshot for George Pickens

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens has reportedly transformed into more of a polished player. The team has expanded his route tree and it appears to be a benefit to the 22-year-old wideout. Last season, Pickens was mainly a deep-ball specialist, but he appears to be adding more to his game. Pickens hauled in a touchdown during the team's first preseason game. He looks to be making positive strides, which is what fantasy managers love to hear. Right now, Pickens should be considered on the WR3 radar heading into the regular season.

  • George Pickens Finds The End Zone In Preseason Opener

    Headshot for George Pickens

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens finished with one reception for 33 yards and a touchdown in the team's preseason win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Pickens ran for about 23 yards after the catch for a score on his only target, a strike from Kenny Pickett at the end of Pittsburgh's first offensive drive. The second-year pro will be looking to improve on a solid rookie campaign that resulted in 52 receptions for 801 yards and four touchdowns. The Steelers will need to make significant strides on offense in 2023 for Pickens to become reliable for fantasy purposes, but he'll certainly offer plenty of upside as a WR3 or flex option to start the season.

  • George Pickens Continues To Impress At Camp

    Headshot for George Pickens

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens had a solid rookie campaign, catching 52 passes for 801 yards and four touchdowns. The University of Georgia product has had plenty of spectacular catches in preseason practice heading into his second year, but he's been impressive overall during training camp. "Hopes were high for Pickens coming into this year. If anything, he's exceeding those expectations," Mike DeFabo of the Athletic wrote. "The thing to watch going forward is how much Pickens' route tree evolves, something he believes will be the case after catching the overwhelming majority of his passes on go routes last year." Pickens should be the Steelers' deep threat in 2023, with Diontae Johnson serving as the volume hog underneath. The overall ceiling of the team's offense could be limited if Kenny Pickett doesn't take the next step at quarterback, but Pickens could have plenty of fantasy value with his chunk play skill set. If his route tree is more diverse, he could smash his WR35 ADP in PPR formats.

  • George Pickens Brags He Is the Best in the Game

    Headshot for George Pickens

Pittsburgh Steelers second-year wide receiver George Pickens said he is "the best in the world." He said he would have rated himself as a 99 across the board if he did the Madden ratings. Pickens, the No. 52 overall pick in the 2022 draft, made some impressively athletic catches as a rookie and finished with 801 yards on 52 receptions and four touchdowns. "I'm big, I'm fast, low 4.4 [speed]. Catch radius is crazy. So every time I get out on the field, I do kind of play angry because I should get the ball on every play if you just look at the size and the frame. If I was a coach, I'd just throw to him every time," Pickens said in an interview with The Ringer's Kevin Clark. Pickens created controversy last season by yelling for more targets on the sidelines of a Week 13 Steelers win. He finished third on the team in targets, but he has to compete with veteran Diontae Johnson, who had the most targets, and tight end Pat Freiermuth.
