Khalil Herbert Could Get More Involved
Chicago Bears running back Khalil Herbert has been seeing more work with the first-team offense during training camp. That being said, Herbert could be more involved in the offense next season. David Montgomery is healthy, but that doesn't mean Herbert won't be getting more snaps next season. He saw a handful of carries with Montgomery last season, so possibly he gets double digits this upcoming season. Fantasy managers should view Herbert as one of the more valuable backups in the league.

Khalil Herbert A Lock To Make Final Roster
Chicago Bears running back Khalil Herbert is considered a lock to make the 53-man roster out of training camp behind starter David Montgomery. Montgomery and Herbert will both play key roles in Chicago's run-heavy offense, while fullback Khari Blasingame is also expected to play a prominent offensive role while earning a roster spot. Darrynton Evans and rookie Trestan Ebner are the other RBs on the roster. Herbert became fantasy relevant as a rookie in 2021 as the Bears lead back when Montgomery missed a stretch of games due to injury, but unless Montgomery misses more time with injury in 2022, Herbert will mostly be useful as a handcuff for those that roster Montgomery.

Bears Transitioning Into Run-Heavy, Outside Zone Offense
The Chicago Bears are transitioning into a run-heavy, outside zone offense, and fullback Khari Blasingame is expected to be clearing holes and creating running lanes for running backs David Montgomery and Khalil Herbert. "He's going to be able to do some things for us outside of the traditional fullback role of just being an elite blocker," running backs coach David Walker said of Blasingame. "He's got some skills. He made a great catch out of the scramble drill today and went downfield." It's good news for Montgomery's fantasy outlook heading into the 2022, but Herbert could steal valuable backfield work from him after a strong rookie season. But if the Bears continue to commit to the run Montgomery should also be used heavily.
