Khalil Herbert Hopes To Be More Involved Week 3

Chicago Bears running back Khalil Herbert will look to spark the Bears woeful offense from the backfield in Week 3 against the Chiefs. Chicago's offense has looked inept through the first two games and Herbert has seen only 16 carries to open the season. He has produced 122 total yards thus far but will face a Chiefs defensive line that has been stingy early in the season. Through two games, Kansas City has allowed the 10th fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs across the league. Herbert has talent but the offense he plays in makes him, no higher, than an RB3 play in Week 3.

Khalil Herbert - Week 2 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Chicago Bears running back Khalil Herbert should be a focal point of the offense as the Bears try and get into the win column against the Buccaneers in Week 2. Herbert got off to a solid start in Week 1 but then the wheels fell off for the entire Chicago offense. He will face a Tampa Bay defense that allowed only 41 team rushing yards to the Vikings last week. The Bears offense is already at a crossroads one week into the season and playmakers like Herbert need to be involved. The talented back will carry RB3/4 fantasy value heading into Week 2.

Khalil Herbert Totals 64 Yards In Week 1

Chicago Bears running back Khalil Herbert carried the ball only nine times for 27 yards and added three catches for 37 yards in the Bears blowout loss to the Packers. Herbert got first crack at touches in the Bears backfield but things went sideways quickly. Herbert displayed burst and his cuts were smooth on a screen pass early but Chicago's offense stalled throughout the game. The lopsided score opened up the door for rookie Roschon Johnson to shine in the second half but Herbert should continue to be the lead back, for now, heading into Week 2.

Khalil Herbert Leads Bears Backfield Into Week 1

Chicago Bears running back Khalil Herbert should lead the Bears new-look backfield Week 1 against the Packers. Herbert showed some dynamic playmaking ability at times last season, registering 877 total yards with five touchdowns. Herbert should get first crack at a backfield that consists of D'Onta Foreman and rookie Roschon Johnson against a stout Packers defensive line. Herbert will carry low-floor FLEX value in deeper formats as it is unclear exactly the amount of touches fantasy managers should expect from the shifty back. Herbert's ceiling, however, will be high over the course of this season as the type of player that can rip off an explosive play anytime he touches the ball.

Khalil Herbert Still The Lead Back In Chicago

Chicago Bears running backs coach David Walker reiterated on Wednesday that running back Khalil Herbert is still the team's lead back in a committee approach in the backfield. "Khalil hasn't done anything to lose the job and then D'Onta Foreman and Travis Homer, you know, Trestan Ebner's been out a little bit, and Roschon Johnson has done a nice job competing," Walker said. Committee approaches often scare fantasy managers away, and for good reason, but if you're targeting an RB in fantasy as an RB3/flex in Chicago, it should be Herbert. Johnson and Foreman will steal away valuable touches in the backfield, but the 25-year-old Herbert had 5.7 yards per carry on his 129 rushing attempts in 13 games (one start) in his second NFL season in 2022.

Roschon Johnson Has Another Solid Performance In Preseason Loss

Chicago Bears running back Roschon Johnson caught eyes once again in Saturday's 24-17 preseason loss against the Indianapolis Colts. Johnson did play behind D'Onta Foreman but has now outperformed him in two straight preseason games. He finished with seven carries for 32 yards and hauled in an 11-yard catch. Khalil Herbert sat out with the rest of the starters, making it clear that he is the team's RB1. While Foreman has been ahead of Johnson, the fourth-round rookie out of Texas is making a very strong push to become the team's No. 2 back as the season approaches.

D'Onta Foreman Gets The Start In Preseason Loss

Chicago Bears running back D'Onta Foreman played two drives in Saturday's 24-17 preseason loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Foreman carried the ball three times for 12 yards and caught one pass for six yards. Foreman has served as the team's RB2 in each of the two preseason games played, but he may be losing some momentum to fourth-round rookie Roschon Johnson. Khalil Herbert is the clear RB1 on the team right now considering he is the only running back that sat out along with the rest of the starters. Foreman and Johnson will continue fighting to be the team's second running back as the season approaches.

Offseason In Review: Chicago Bears

Coming into this offseason with the most cap space, the Bears used it in different ways. In addition to outbidding competitors for Tremaine Edmunds, Chicago filled other needs at guard and defensive end. GM Ryan Poles‘ second draft also is set to include multiple Week 1 starters, but this offseason — and more after that […]
