Fantasy Advice

Second season Rhamondre was pretty good. Played 66% of snaps, finished RB15 in PPG. The snaps were up because Damien Harris was in and out of the lineup. Harris is gone now, and it is an unimpressive depth chart behind Stevenson. Although this goes against the typical Patriot Way, things are lining up for Stevenson to be a workhorse. Plus, new OC has to be an improvement over last season's train wreck. Pull the trigger on Rhamondre.

  • Rhamondre Stevenson Headed For Busy Week 3

    Headshot for Rhamondre Stevenson

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson should be a central part of the team's offensive attack against the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon. Stevenson is already off to a great start this season, totaling 149 scrimmage yards and one touchdown, and should see plenty of volume as the Patriots face a stout Jets defense. If the game is close or the Patriots have the lead and Bill Belichick doesn't want to test Sauce Gardner, we should see a lot of runs and shorter passes, which is where Stevenson excels. He ranks as a high-end fantasy RB2 with tremendous upside.

  • Rhamondre Stevenson Salvages Week 2 Performance With Touchdown

    Headshot for Rhamondre Stevenson

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson logged 15 carries for 50 yards and a touchdown against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday evening. He also caught three passes for an additional 10 receiving yards, which is relatively underwhelming considering he had six catches for 64 yards in Week 1. Nevertheless, Stevenson rewarded fantasy managers by finding the end zone. He'll rank as a high-end RB2 heading into a Week 3 clash with the Jets in which the Patriots will likely play more conservative with a heavy dose of runs and short passes.

  • Rhamondre Stevenson - Week 2 Outlook for Fantasy Football

    Headshot for Rhamondre Stevenson

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson might lose some rushing opportunities to Ezekiel Elliott versus Miami on Sunday night, but he'll still be called upon for a significant role in the passing attack. Stevenson hauled in all six of his targets last week and has been the Patriots' most reliable pass-catcher at times over the last year. With the Patriots needing to pass a lot to keep up with the Dolphins, don't be surprised if Stevenson has a major role. He's a fantasy RB2 heading into Sunday Night Football.

  • Rhamondre Stevenson Catches Six Passes In Loss To Eagles

    Headshot for Rhamondre Stevenson

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson rushed for 25 yards on 12 carries while catching all six targets for 64 yards in Sunday's 25-20 loss to the Eagles. Rhambo racked up most of his fantasy points through the air, most of the damage coming from a 32-yard reception. The 25-year-old out-carried backfield teammate Ezekiel Elliott 12-7. New England will continue to employ a running back by committee between Stevenson and Elliott. Stevenson should continue to see plenty of touches and has more fantasy value in PPR formats, making him a solid start against the Dolphins in Week 2.

  • Rhamondre Stevenson Likely To Suit Up On Sunday

    Headshot for Rhamondre Stevenson

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (illness) is anticipated to be in uniform on Sunday versus the Eagles. Despite holding a questionable tag heading into this contest because of the stomach bug, the 25-year-old should be out there for the regular-season opener. With Ezekiel Elliott now on the roster, fantasy managers have questions regarding how the workload will be divided. On top of that, the Philadelphia defense is expected to cause a lot of problems for teams around the NFL this season, meaning Stevenson is hard to trust in Week 1.

  • Rhamondre Stevenson Dealing With Stomach Bug, Should Play Sunday

    Headshot for Rhamondre Stevenson

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (illness) missed Friday's practice due to a stomach bug, according to Karen Guregian of MassLive. However, the expectation is that Stevenson will play Sunday versus Philadelphia. The Oklahoma product emerged as a strong dual-threat option last season, amassing 1,040 rushing and 421 receiving yards en route to finishing as the overall RB7 in PPR leagues. While the offseason addition of Ezekiel Elliott adds a wrinkle to this backfield, Stevenson is clearly still New England's lead back and should be treated as an RB2 in fantasy football.

The 2022 season saw the Patriots fail to make the playoffs for the second time in the post-Tom Brady era. While the players deserve their fair share of blame for the team’s lack of success, New England’s struggles could mostly be attributed to the sideline. With Josh McDaniels having left for Las Vegas, Bill Belichick […]

  • Rhamondre Stevenson Finds The End Zone In Win Over Packers

    Headshot for Rhamondre Stevenson

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson rushed four times for 27 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 21-17 preseason win over the Green Bay Packers. The 25-year-old had a strong preseason debut, busting out a 23-yard gain and punching it in from the one-yard line in Saturday's preseason victory. New England signed free agent running back Ezekiel Elliott earlier in the week, slightly hurting Stevenson's fantasy value. However, the former fourth-round pick should lead New England's backfield in touches after racking up 69 catches, 1,461 total yards, and five touchdowns over 17 games in 2022. Stevenson is expected to handle passing-down situations, while Zeke is projected to be on the field during short-yardage situations and be the team's goal line back. Despite the addition of Elliott, Stevenson remains a borderline RB1 but carries more value in PPR formats.

  • Rhamondre Stevenson Back At Tuesday's Practice

    Headshot for Rhamondre Stevenson

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson is back at training camp practice on Tuesday after Monday's load management. Stevenson was off on a side field on Monday, prompting some folks to speculate that he was rehabbing an undisclosed injury. Stevenson doesn't appear to be injured at all, but the Patriots are just managing his workload earl on in camp as the team's primary early down ball-carrier. The 25-year-old is easily New England's most attractive fantasy piece as a low-end RB1/high-end RB2, but a signing of someone like Ezekiel Elliott or Dalvin Cook could complicate matters for Stevenson in head coach Bill Belichick's backfield. The Pats could use some more depth behind Stevenson, especially with Ty Montgomery currently injured.

  • Rhamondre Stevenson Rehabs On Monday

    Headshot for Rhamondre Stevenson

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (undisclosed) spent most of Monday's training camp practice on the lower rehab field, with Kevin Harris, Pierre Strong Jr. and J.J. Taylor being the lone RB options. The Patriots could still sign Ezekiel Elliott or Dalvin Cook, especially with Ty Montgomery (leg) also injured. Stevenson should be the team's primary early down back as long as they don't sign Cook, with Montgomery, Harris, Strong and Taylor competing for roles as complementary backs. Unless we find out that Stevenson's injury is significant, or until they sign another RB, the 25-year-old is the best fantasy option in New England's backfield and should be considered a low-end RB1/high-end RB2.

  • Rhamondre Stevenson The Clear-Cut Lead Back

    Headshot for Rhamondre Stevenson

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson is the team's clear-cut lead back heading into training camp later this month. If the Patriots don't add another back after parting ways with James Robinson, Ty Montgomery would likely slot in as the third-down back with solid instincts and versatility to become a safety blanket in the passing game. It remains to be seen if second-year backs Pierre Strong Jr. and Kevin Harris can step up to spell Stevenson in the running game. Stevenson had 210 carries for 1,040 yards and five TDs last year while adding 69 catches for 421 yards and another TD. With Damien Harris also out of the picture in New England, Stevenson has low-end RB1 value heading into the 2023 campaign in an offense that should rely heavily on the ground game.

  • Pierre Strong Jr. Could Be Rhamondre Stevenson's Complement

    Headshot for Rhamondre Stevenson

New England Patriots running back Pierre Strong Jr. has been on the James White track from the get-go, and Strong is far from the first Patriots draft pick to "redshirt" at the position as a rookie. His breakaway speed and short-area agility lend themselves to a role as a receiving back in the Patriots offense, although it's been a challenging role to grasp for younger players historically. On his 10 carries in 2022, Strong had three runs of 10-plus yards and two runs of 15-plus yards, so the potential for big plays is there. The 24-year-old could complement Rhamondre Stevenson as the lightning to Stevenson's thunder in 2023. The questions for the fourth-rounder will be more about volume than talent in his sophomore campaign.
