  • Zach Wilson Has A Case Of The Yips

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson, who was officially benched by head coach Robert Saleh for Week 12 against the Chicago Bears, is reportedly dealing with a case of the yips. It's an issue that isn't new, as sources around the team noticed that Wilson was off earlier this spring while struggling to make the easy throws while his mechanics were out of whack. A knee injury in training camp didn't help Wilson's issues at all, and he clearly struggled in his seven starts before getting benched this week. The Jets are adamant that Wilson is still their franchise signal-caller, but fantasy managers that have him in dynasty/keeper leagues can't be feeling great right now. This Sunday, Wilson will be a healthy scratch as the No. 3 behind Mike White and Joe Flacco.

  • Zach Wilson Won't Start Against Bears

New York Jets players were informed during a team meeting on Wednesday that quarterback Zach Wilson will not start in Week 12 against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, according to sources. Wilson is being benched despite going 5-2 on the season, with both of his losses coming to the New England Patriots. Not only is the 23-year-old being benched, but he will be a healthy scratch as the No. 3 QB behind Mike White and Joe Flacco. Wilson went 9-for-22 for just 77 yards in Sunday's loss to the Pats. Head coach Robert Saleh said the team still views Wilson as the franchise's long-term QB but that he's in need of a reset after missing the first three games of 2022 due to a knee injury. He has four touchdowns and five interceptions and is averaging just 6.8 yards per attempt in his seven starts.

  • Zach Wilson Not Guaranteed To Start In Week 12

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh would not commit to Zach Wilson starting at quarterback against the Chicago Bears next Sunday. This is a significant development considering it marks the first time that Saleh has left the door open for Wilson to be benched. The 23-year-old has completed just 55.6 percent of passes for 1,279 yards, four touchdowns, and five interceptions through seven games this season. He also has 94 rushing yards, one rushing touchdown, and 16 sacks. If the Jets do make a change under center, Wilson's replacement would likely be Mike White, who has spent the past few weeks listed at No. 2 on the depth chart.

  • Zach Wilson Not A Good Option In Week 11

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson is not a strong fantasy option in Week 11 lineups. The Jets will travel to New England to take on the Patriots on Sunday, where they will face off against a tough defensive unit. Wilson has game managed the Jets to a surprising tie for second place in the AFC East, but it's been the running game and defense that has really gotten them there. Wilson has just four touchdowns and 1202 passing yards in six games this season and is averaging a QB19 finish in fantasy. He doesn't need to be rostered in 1QB leagues.

  • Zach Wilson Improves In A Week 9 Victory

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson showed some marked improvement in a Week 9 win over the Buffalo Bills. While Wilson actually had a decent fantasy week in Week 8, it was a mostly disastrous actual football performance. His Week 9 game was much more palatable on the field, but yielded fewer fantasy points. Wilson attempted 25 passes, completing 18 of them for 154 yards and a touchdown. He took two sacks, losing 18 yards, but ran the ball five times for 24 yards. All of that combined with a solid run game led to a big upset win over the division rival Bills. Wilson can be a winning signal caller in the NFL, but he's just not much of a fantasy asset.

  • Zach Wilson Not A Recommended Option In Week 9

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson is not a recommended fantasy option in a Week 9 matchup against the Buffalo Bills. Wilson had his first 300-yard passing game in Week 8 as the Jets went much more pass heavy after losing running back Breece Hall (knee) for the season. Still, Wilson made too many mistakes and looked shaky at times despite the solid fantasy performance. There's a chance the Jets fall behind early and Wilson compiles garbage time passing stats, but there's also a very low floor without much of a ceiling.

  • Zach Wilson To Remain Starter For Rest Of The Year

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh said that quarterback Zach Wilson will be the team's starter for the rest of the season, barring injury, because he's a big reason why the team is currently 5-3. Saleh said Wilson's carelessness with the football in the Week 8 loss to the New England Patriots was an outlier. "He's our QB because we think he's going to get better and continue to prove why he's the No. 2 pick," Saleh said. The 23-year-old threw three interceptions, his first picks since his season debut in Week 4, although he also had a season-high 355 passing yards and two touchdowns on 41 attempts on Sunday. Wilson only has three TDs and five interceptions in his five games this year, and if game script allows, the Jets offense will most likely remain run-first moving forward.

  • Zach Wilson Not A Fantasy Option In Week 8

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson remains off the fantasy radar for Week 8. The Jets face the New England Patriots in Week 8, which has not been a particularly difficult matchup for quarterbacks this season, but the way the Jets offense works is not conducive for fantasy points from the quarterback position. Even with Breece Hall (knee) out for the season, the Jets will continue to rely on their running game and their defense to win games. Wilson hasn't completed more than 18 passes in a game so far this season and has thrown just three touchdowns in four games.

  • Zach Wilson Game Manages Another Win In Week 7

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson game managed his team to another win in Week 7 against the Denver Broncos. Wilson completed 16 of his 26 pass attempts for 121 scoreless yards. He took three sacks but did not turn the ball over, leading his team to a win in a field goal filled 16-9 game. Wilson has proven to be a solid NFL quarterback in the Jets run-heavy system, but he's done nothing to show that he should even be rostered in standard fantasy formats.

  • Zach Wilson Not A Fantasy Starter In Week 7

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson has done an excellent job at leading the Jets since returning from his knee injury to start the season. That does not mean he's been of any value to fantasy managers, however. The Jets offense has been a run-first, run-second, and sometimes even run-third unit, with Wilson averaging under 20 pass attempts over the past two games. Rookie running back Breece Hall is the entire Jets offense, and it's working really well. In real life, Wilson has been a solid quarterback on an ascending team. In most fantasy leagues though, he should be sitting comfortably on the waiver wire.

  • Robert Saleh Comments On Relationship with Elijah Moore

New York Jets wide receiver Elijah Moore took to social media to express his frustration and confusion about his usage in Sunday's 27-10 win over the Packers. The 22-year-old called the victory "bittersweet" because the team came out on top despite him finishing with zero targets. Head coach Robert Saleh stated they "had conversations" and he "has no problem" with the sophomore wideout. The Mississippi product has only 16 catches for 203 yards and no touchdowns over the first six weeks, which is disappointing considering the expectations fantasy managers had entering the year. It's hard not to be concerned because quarterback Zach Wilson is averaging only 14 completions per game since returning from injury. Moore is definitely a player to consider cutting outside of deeper leagues and dynasty formats.

  • Zach Wilson Manages His Way To Another Jets Win

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson game managed his way to another Jets victory in Week 6. Wilson only attempted 18 passes, completing 10 of them for 110 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions. He took two sacks and got over a third of his passing yards on a 41-yard pass to Corey Davis. Wilson has been doing what he needs to lead the Jets to a surprising 4-2 record and a share of first place in the AFC East, but he has provided little to no fantasy value in an extremely run-heavy offense.

  • Zach Wilson A Decent Superflex Option In Week 6

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson is a decent Week 6 option in superflex formats. Wilson scored a rushing touchdown in Week 5 while passing for 210 yards. He might be forced to throw a bit more against the Packers, and with decent pass-catchers led by rookie Garrett Wilson, there's some touchdown upside with Wilson as the quarterback. He's not going to be the 50-passes-per-game type of guy Joe Flacco was for the Jets at the start of the season, but he's a talented passer and should put up solid QB2 numbers.

  • Zach Wilson Game Manages A Week 5 Win

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson led the Jets to a 40-17 win over the Miami Dolphins. Wilson completed 14 of his 21 pass attempts for 210 yards. He did not throw a touchdown or an interception, but he ran the ball four times for a total of two yards, scoring a touchdown on the ground. With the Jets running game easily moving the ball and scoring touchdowns, Wilson didn't have to do much. It was a clean, mistake-free performance on the field that led his NFL team to a win, but Wilson didn't do too much for any of his fantasy teams in this game.

  • Zach Wilson Good To Go In Week 5

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson (ankle) practiced in full each of the last two days and has been cleared to play in Week 5 against the Miami Dolphins. Wilson was removed from the final injury report on Friday. Also, all signs are pointing towards left tackle Duane Brown (shoulder) coming off Injured Reserve to make his season debut this weekend. That's more good news for Wilson heading into his matchup with Miami. Wilson made his season debut in last week's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, throwing for 252 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions on 36 pass attempts. He also caught a touchdown pass. Wilson will be in play as a low-end QB2 option in superflex leagues in his second game of 2022.

  • Zach Wilson Upgrades To Full Practice

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson (ankle) was upgraded to a "full" practice on Thursday after he was limited with an ankle issue on Wednesday. Wilson called it a "little ankle" injury and said he's "in a good spot" heading into a Week 5 meeting with the Miami Dolphins this Sunday. The 23-year-old second-year signal-caller made his season debut in last week's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers after having his knee scoped in mid-August. Wilson went 18-for-36 for 252 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions, and he also caught a touchdown pass on a trick play. In a matchup against Miami's blitz-happy defense, Wilson will be on the fantasy radar as a low-end QB2.

  • Zach Wilson Limited With Ankle Injury

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson (ankle) will be a limited practice participant on Wednesday due to an ankle injury, according to head coach Robert Saleh. Wilson was not on the field for the early portion of practice. Wilson returned from a knee injury to make his season debut in the Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he went 18-for-36 for 252 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions while also catching a touchdown pass on a trick play near the goal line. The 23-year-old is now dealing with an ankle injury, but it's not expected to keep him from facing the Miami Dolphins this weekend. Wilson will once again be a low-end QB2 in superflex leagues in what will be his second start of the year in Week 5.

  • Jets Tempering Expectations With Zach Wilson

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) is set to make his season debut against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 4. The second-year quarterback missed the first three games after suffering a meniscus injury and a bone bruise in his knee during the preseason. Surprisingly, the Jets have looked halfway decent with veteran Joe Flacco under center. Despite that, Wilson will get the keys to the offense going forward. However, the organization is tempering their expectations for Wilson in his return. The 23-year-old does have potential, but remains a low-end QB2 right now.

  • Zach Wilson Medically Cleared, Will Start In Week 4

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh announced on Wednesday that quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) has been medically cleared and will start in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, barring any setbacks. Wilson will be making his season debut, while veteran Joe Flacco will head back to the bench. The 23-year-old second-year signal-caller suffered a meniscus injury and a bone bruise in his knee in the preseason, causing him to miss the first three games. Wilson had a rough rookie season and isn't guaranteed a second-year leap, although he does have plenty of weapons in the backfield and at wide receiver. Until we see more from him, Wilson will be a low-end QB2 play in superflex leagues, at best.

  • Jets Expect Zach Wilson To Return In Week 4

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh said he's expecting quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) to make his season debut in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but doctors will have the final say. Wilson could be cleared as early as Monday, and when that happens, he'll take his starting job back from veteran Joe Flacco. Flacco threw two interceptions, lost a fumble and was sacked four times in the Week 3 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Wilson suffered a meniscus tear and bone bruise in his right knee in the preseason opener and hasn't played since after having arthroscopic surgery on Aug. 16. Expect the 23-year-old to need to shake off some rust, making him nothing more than a low-end QB2 in superflex leagues if he makes his debut this week.

  • Zach Wilson Expected To Return In Week 4

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson (meniscus) should be cleared to play in Week 4, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The second-year signal-caller injured his knee in the preseason and hasn't been able to suit up in the regular season yet. Joe Flacco has filled in admirably, completing 63 passes for 616 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception through two weeks. The Jets surely hope for a seamless transition from Flacco to Wilson, who tossed nine touchdowns and 11 interceptions as a rookie in 2021.

  • Zach Wilson Will Play When Ready

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) won't make his season debut in Week 3 against the Cincinnati Bengals, but he has a chance to be cleared in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Jets plan to turn back to Wilson, even if veteran Joe Flacco has another strong game this weekend. "No, Zach is the future of the organization, we all know that," head coach Robert Saleh said. "As soon as the doctors clear him, we will get him on the field." Flacco led an improbable comeback win over the Cleveland Browns last week and has been given plenty of opportunities to throw the football, but Wilson remains the future in New York. Wilson should only be stashed in superflex leagues.

  • Zach Wilson Hopeful To Play In Week 4

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) is eyeing a return in Week 4. The 23-year-old is expected to ramp up his activities this week. That being said, veteran Joe Flacco is set to make at least one more start for the Jets. He has surprisingly played very well, but is expected to revert to the backup role once Wilson is ready. Wilson struggled last season, but the Jets aren't going to give up on him that quickly. However, he's still young and learning, which makes him tough to trust in fantasy formats. Wilson can remain on the waiver wire in most formats even when he does eventually return.

  • Zach Wilson To Ramp Up Activities This Week

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) will see a slight ramp-up this week in practice, according to head coach Robert Saleh. Wilson will not play in Week 3 against the Cincinnati Bengals, and Saleh won't say definitively that Wilson will be ready to start in Week 4. However, the head coach said Wilson is "progressing well... looking good... so we'll see." The 23-year-old second-year QB had arthroscopic right knee surgery on Aug. 16, which has delayed his start to the 2022 season. Veteran Joe Flacco has gone over 300 yards passing in each of the first two games and led the Jets to an improbable comeback win over the Browns in Week 2, but he'll revert to backup duties once Wilson is 100% healthy. Wilson should only be stashed in two-QB leagues.

The Jets’ season began with a loss in which the offense delivered an underwhelming performance. • Zach Wilson Won't Be Ready Until Week 4

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh said it's likely that the earliest quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) will be available is Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Jets already announced veteran Joe Flacco as their starter for the Week 1 regular season opener, and he'll presumably start at least the first three games with Wilson sidelined. Wilson suffered a knee injury in training camp that required surgery, and the Jets don't want to rush the second-year signal-caller back too soon. Still, it's bad news for the 23-year-old after he struggled mightily in his first NFL season in 2021. He'll eventually get the starting job back, but fantasy managers that have Wilson rostered in dynasty/keeper leagues can't like the way his season has started.

  • Zach Wilson Still In Play For Week 1 Start

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh told reporters on Monday that quarterback Zach Wilson (knee), who is dealing with a bone bruise and meniscus tear, had a workout on Monday and is potentially in play to start in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens. The team will make an official announcement on Wednesday. If Wilson isn't ready, it will be veteran Joe Flacco making the start against his former club. Even if Wilson doesn't play in the season opener, it looks like he's made great progress and shouldn't be out for too long to begin the year. The 23-year-old has plenty of weapons on offense and should be able to take a step forward in Year 2, but he should still be considered a low-end QB2 for fantasy purposes until he shows us more.
