  • Zach Wilson Posts Lackluster Results Versus Texans

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson was back under center for the first time since Week 7. Sadly, there weren't many positive results from the rookie quarterback in this one. He completed 14-of-24 passing attempts for 145 yards with zero touchdowns and one interception in the win over the Houston Texans. Wilson also added two rushing attempts for three yards and a score in the Week 12 dub. He did come up limping in the fourth quarter, but Wilson appeared fine. There is a good chance he'll be in line to start against the Philadelphia Eagles next week. Fantasy managers have no reason to believe Wilson will produce better results next week.

  • Zach Wilson Will Start Against Texans

New York Jets rookie quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) will start on Sunday against the Houston Texans in Week 12, according to a source. Wilson will return after missing the last four games with a PCL sprain. His return couldn't come at a better time against a Texans defense that has allowed 255.8 passing yards per game (sixth-most in the NFL) and the seventh-most fantasy points per game (23.6) to opposing QBs this season. The Jets didn't want to bring the No. 2 overall pick back too soon, so fantasy managers should expect the 22-year-old to be fully healthy. Wilson has certainly had his share of struggles in the first six games of his career, completing only 57.5% of his 181 pass attempts for 1,168 yards, four touchdowns and nine interceptions. He's also been sacked 19 times. Wilson is a dynasty stash, but he'll go back to being a low-end QB2 in single-season formats despite the good matchup.

  • Zach Wilson Officially Out For Week 11

New York Jets rookie quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) has officially been ruled out for the Week 11 game against the Miami Dolphins after coming into the game doubtful to play on Sunday. Running back La'Mical Perine, who has played in just three games this year, will be a healthy scratch. Wilson's knee is structurally sound, but the Jets want to make sure the No. 2 overall pick is 100% healthy before returning him to the starting role. It's possible he could be back in a juicy Week 12 matchup against the Houston Texans. Instead of Mike White, who struggled mightily against the Buffalo Bills last week, the Jets will go with veteran Joe Flacco against Miami. He'll be a desperation QB2 option in superflex leagues against an aggressive Dolphins defense.

  • Zach Wilson Officially Doubtful For Week 11

New York Jets rookie quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) put in a full week of limited practices but is doubtful to play in Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins. Wilson's knee is structurally sound and he remains day-to-day, but the Jets want the No. 2 overall pick to be 100% healthy before they throw him back in there. It remains to be seen if that'll come in Week 12 in a nice matchup with the Houston Texans. After Mike White came crashing back down to Earth last week against the Buffalo Bills, the Jets will turn to veteran Joe Flacco under center on Sunday against Miami. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect much from New York's offense against an aggressive Dolphins defense this weekend.

  • Zach Wilson's Knee Is Structurally Sound

New York Jets rookie quarterback Zach Wilson's knee is structurally sound, according to head coach Robert Saleh. "It's confidence more than anything," Saleh said. Wilson remains day-to-day and has been limited in practices so far this week, but the Jets want to give him at least one more week to recover from a PCL sprain. The 22-year-old gives this franchise the best chance to win in the long term, and probably in the short term, too, which makes sense as to why they are making sure he's completely healthy before putting him back on the field. The No. 2 overall pick will probably need to shake off some rust when he returns, so even if he comes back to face the lowly Houston Texans in Week 12, Wilson will be nothing more than a low-end QB2.

  • Zach Wilson Remains Day-To-Day

New York Jets rookie quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) remains "day-to-day," and head coach Robert Saleh won't speculate on if Wilson will be ready to return from a PCL sprain to play in Week 12 against the Houston Texans. The Jets announced on Wednesday that veteran Joe Flacco will start over Mike White in Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins. Wilson has been out since injuring his knee in Week 7, and the Jets will not bring him back until he is 100% healthy to avoid setting him back in his development after he was this year's second overall pick. In his first six NFL starts, the 22-year-old has completed 57.5% of his 181 pass attempts for 1,168 yards, four touchdowns and nine interceptions. Wilson has been sacked 19 times as well.

  • Jets Remain Non-Committal On Zach Wilson

New York Jets quarterback Mike White will probably only start in Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins if rookie first-rounder Zach Wilson (knee) needs more time to recover from a second-degree PCL sprain. White came back to Earth in a big way in the Week 10 blowout loss to the Buffalo Bills when he threw four interceptions. Wilson got a nice workout in before the game on Sunday, but the Jets remain non-committal as to whether he'll return this weekend. White's short run was fun for Jets fans, but the ultimate plan is to develop Wilson as much as they can in his rookie season. How much Wilson can do in practice this week will determine if he can start on Sunday, but fantasy managers in superflex leagues should be wary of using him if he returns, as he'll likely be a bit rusty from his layoff.

  • Zach Wilson Still Not 100 Percent

New York Jets rookie first-round quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) said his knee is "definitely not 100%" despite returning to practice this week. Wilson will miss his third straight game in Week 10 against the Buffalo Bills with a sprained right knee. With backup Mike White performing well in Wilson's absence, head coach Robert Saleh has declined to say whether Wilson will regain the starting job when he's healthy. Wilson was struggling before his injury, and the Jets plan to ride with White as long as he continues to play well. In five quarters, White has thrown for 500 yards and four touchdowns in the last two games. White has been a fun story since he took over for Wilson, but the Jets long-term plan still involves Wilson under center. White's recent play, if anything, has given the team the luxury of not rushing Wilson back from his injury.

  • Zach Wilson Logs Another Limited Practice

New York Jets rookie quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) logged his second consecutive limited practice on Thursday. The BYU product has already been ruled out for Week 10, but it's encouraging to hear that he was able to get in back-to-back limited practices. Quarterback Mike White has been announced as the Week 10 starter in a tough matchup versus the Buffalo Bills, but Wilson is full expected to return as the starting signal-caller when he is fully healthy. The rookie last played in Week 7 and has struggled early in his career with 1168 yards and four touchdowns with nine touchdowns on the year. His best value remains in dynasty leagues or as a bye week replacement in redraft leagues.

  • Jets Won't Play Zach Wilson Until He's Fully Healthy

The New York Jets are hoping rookie quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) will return to practice this week after suffering a knee injury in Week 7, but the first-rounder will have to prove he's fully healthy before the team will give him the green light to start in Week 10 against the Buffalo Bills. If Wilson doesn't get clearance this week, Mike White would make his third career start. Wilson is in Week 3 of his recovery from a PCL sprain that carried a two- to four-week timeline. Head coach Robert Saleh said he should know by Wednesday who he plans to start this weekend. White suffered a nerve contusion in his right forearm in last week's loss, but he should be good to go against Buffalo if the team needs him. If he gets another start, he'll be a desperation low-end QB2 in superflex leagues against a really good Bills defense.

Nov 9 · Source via Jets Zach Wilson
  • Zach Wilson Expected To Return To Practice This Week

New York Jets rookie quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) is expected to return to practice this week, but backup Mike White (forearm) could get another start in Week 10 against the Buffalo Bills while Wilson works to get back to 100% health. The first-rounder suffered a PCL sprain in Week 7 that carried a two- to four-week timetable for a return. The Jets won't rush him back, and he could even benefit from watching and learning while his knee heals up. White lasted just two offensive series last Thursday night in the loss to the Indianapolis Colts due to a right forearm injury, but he's expected to be fine and would be in line for his third NFL start against Buffalo in Week 10 if Wilson isn't ready. Despite throwing for over 400 yards in his first start two weeks ago, White would be a low-end desperation QB2 against Buffalo's strong defense.

  • Zach Wilson Should Practice Next Week

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh said the team didn't put rookie quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) on Injured Reserve because they think that he'll be back at practice leading up to the Week 10 game against the Buffalo Bills. Wilson may not necessarily be ready to play in Week 10, but it's good news that he won't go on IR, which would require him to miss at least three games. The first-rounder will miss his second straight game this Thursday after suffering a PCL sprain in Week 7. After Mike White surprisingly led the Jets to a win over the Cincinnati Bengals in his first career start, the Jets will roll with him again against Indy this Thursday. Even if White pulls another rabbit out of his hat in Week 9, it's unlikely that Wilson wouldn't have the starting job back once he's healthy.

  • Zach Wilson To Miss 2-4 Weeks

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) was forced to exit early during the Week 7 matchup with the New England Patriots. The rookie quarterback was originally expected to miss some time, but the organization didn't have a timetable until they could do an MRI. Now, it has been announced that Wilson is going to miss two-to-four weeks of action. The Jets offense was already struggling heavily, but things are likely only to get worse now. It's assumed that backup quarterback Mike White will take over the starting duties until Wilson returns. That means, basically all Jets players are going to be avoidable in fantasy formats without Wilson available.

  • Zach Wilson Likely To Miss Time

New York Jets rookie first-round quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) will have an MRI exam on his knee on Monday, but sources are saying that the initial belief is that he suffered an injury to his PCL. Wilson will likely miss some time, but we won't have a specific timetable until his MRI results come back. The 22-year-old was just 6-for-10 for 51 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions before leaving the game with the injury. Backup Mike White went 20-for-32 for 202 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in relief in the Week 7 blowout loss to the New England Patriots. Fantasy managers should only consider adding White if they're desperate at the QB position in superflex leagues.

  • Zach Wilson Officially Ruled Out

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) will not return to Sunday's game against the Patriots. The No. 2 overall pick was 6-for-10 for 51 yards, but exited in the first half after being hit on back-to-back plays. Mike White will quarterback the Jets for the rest of Sunday's game and possibly for longer, something that would make an anemic Jets offense even more difficult to trust when it comes to fantasy. Keep an eye out for an update on the specifics of the Wilson knee injury.

  • Zach Wilson Goes To Locker Room

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson has gone to the locker room with a knee injury, with Mike White replacing him. Wilson is officially listed as questionable and was seen walking with "a clear hitch in his step," according to Mike Giardi of the NFL Network. Wilson is 6-for-10 for 51 yards in the game. White threw a three-yard touchdown after replacing Wilson, but White's presence would hurt the already-poor Jets offense if Wilson ends up missing any games.

  • Zach Wilson - Week 7 Outlook for Fantasy Football

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson has an avoidable matchup with the New England Patriots in Week 7. The rookie quarterback has struggled during the early part of the season. Through five games, Wilson has four touchdowns and nine interceptions with a little over 1,100 passing yards. Now after the bye week, Wilson is set to do battle with a Patriots defense he struggled against in Week 2. He threw four interceptions in that contest and it's unlikely to get better this time around. Fantasy managers should avoid Wilson at all costs for this matchup.

  • Zach Wilson Looks Sluggish Against Falcons

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson came into this outing looking fairly decent in the win over Tennessee in Week 4. However, Wilson struggled to get anything going against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. He completed 19-of-32 passing attempts for 192 yards and one interception in the Week 5 loss. It doesn't help that Wilson is surrounded by an awful offensive line and bad cast of weapons. The hope is that Wilson will get better as the season goes on. However, he won't be much of a fantasy option right now.

  • Zach Wilson Should Succeed Against Falcons

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson has put together some rough performances, but looked much better versus the Tennessee Titans in Week 4. He threw for nearly 300 yards and tossed two touchdowns in the win. Wilson is have a chance to build off that game against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5. A defense that ranks 28th in pass DVOA so far in 2021. Despite having a solid matchup, Wilson should be considered a low-end streaming option for this contest. The Jets offensive line is terrible and Wilson hasn't shown enough to be counted on as a fantasy option.

  • Zach Wilson Throws For Nearly 300 Yards

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson had struggled heavily coming into the Week 4 matchup with the Tennessee Titans. However, Wilson put together easily his best game as a pro here. He completed 21-of=34 passing attempts for 297 yards and two touchdowns with one interception in the win. It was a nice outing for the rookie quarterback, but fantasy managers shouldn't ahead of themselves. He'll be a low-end streaming option against the shaky Atlanta Falcons secondary in Week 5.

  • Zach Wilson Avoidable In Matchup Versus Titans

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson has thrown six interceptions and zero touchdowns over his last two games. It really cannot get much worse for the second overall pick. His offensive line fails to protect him and Wilson is having significant struggles adjusting to the NFL. He'll get a matchup in Week 4 against the Tennessee Titans. A defense that has allowed the second -fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. There is really no reason Wilson should be started in any fantasy leagues this week.

  • Zach Wilson Holding Onto The Ball Too Long

New York Jets rookie quarterback Zach Wilson leads the NFL with eight sacks that took more than 4.5 seconds from snap to tackle through three weeks, according to Next Gen Stats. Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Justin Fields has seven such sacks on just 46 dropbacks. Overall, Fields has been sacked 11 times and has only 14 completions. In the 26-0 Week 3 loss to the Denver Broncos, Wilson went just 19-for-35 for 160 yards, no touchdowns and two more interceptions. The 22-year-old first-rounder has thrown two touchdowns and a league-high seven interceptions through three weeks, while also being sacked 15 times. Wilson should have a better day in Week 4 against the Tennessee Titans, but he cannot be trusted in fantasy.

  • Zach Wilson Posts Brutal Performance In Week 3

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson posted a promising NFL debut, but it was been awful since then. In Week 3, Wilson completed 19-of-35 passing attempts for 160 yards with zero touchdowns and two interceptions in the loss to the Denver Broncos. It was partly Wilson's fault, but the offensive line didn't give Wilson any help. The wide receivers continued to miss and botched nearly everything in their vicinity. The Jets offense has been horrendous and it's not going to get easier against the Tennessee Titans in Week 4. Fantasy managers can continue ignoring Wilson for that one.

  • Zach Wilson Avoidable Versus Denver

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson came out strong during his NFL debut, but it came crashing down in Week 2. Wilson threw four interceptions in what was an ugly loss to the New England Patriots in his second career game. Right now, Wilson is giving fantasy managers mixed signals as we head into Week 3. The overall upside for Wilson is promising, but there's going to be a learning curve. He'll get a tough matchup versus the Denver Broncos in Week 3. Wilson will be a low-end QB2 and someone to be avoided in basically all formats here.

Sep 24 · Source via Jets Zach Wilson
  • Zach Wilson Throws Four Interceptions In Loss

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson wasn't expected to play well this week, but no one thought his performance would be this bad. In Week 2, Wilson completed 19-of-33 passing attempts for 210 yards with no touchdowns and four interceptions in the loss to the New England Patriots. There really isn't any positives to take from Wilson's performance this week. He was forcing bad throws and not taking what the defense gives him. He is a rookie quarterback, so hopefully he'll learn and get better. Regardless, Wilson won't be a reliable fantasy option versus the Denver Broncos in Week 3.

Sep 19 · Source via Jets Zach Wilson
  • Zach Wilson Unlikely To Succeed In Week 2

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson was able to hold his own during his NFL debut last week. However, things aren't going to get easier for Wilson versus the New England Patriots defense in Week 2. A secondary that allowed the seventh-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks last season. It's also worth noting that superstar tackle Mekhi Becton (knee) is going to be sidelined at least a month. Wilson took six sacks last week and it's likely going to be more of the same in Week 2. Fantasy managers shouldn't bother streaming Wilson for this one.

  • Mekhi Becton Placed On Injured Reserve

New York Jets offensive lineman Mekhi Becton (knee) was placed on the injured reserve Tuesday. He is expected to be out for four to six weeks while needing arthroscopic knee surgery to clean up damaged MCL cartilage that he suffered in the Week 1 loss to the Carolina Panthers. George Fant will handle left tackle duties while the 22-year-old is sidelined. Becton's absence from the Jets' o-line only hurts QB Zach Wilson and the Jets' offense.

Sep 15 · Source via Jets Zach Wilson
  • Mekhi Becton Needs Surgery, Expected Out 4-6 Weeks

New York Jets starting left tackle Mekhi Becton (knee) is expected to be out for four to six weeks while needing arthroscopic knee surgery to clean up damaged MCL cartilage that he suffered in the Week 1 loss to the Carolina Panthers, according to a source. When Becton was injured, the Jets moved George Fant to left tackle and Morgan Moses to right tackle, so that will likely be the setup on the offensive line moving forward. It's a significant blow for the Jets offensive line and for the protection of rookie quarterback Zach Wilson. Wilson was already a low-end QB2 for fantasy purposes, and the injury to his first-round blind-side protector won't make life any easier as the Jets head into a tough Week 2 matchup against the division-rival New England Patriots.

  • Zach Wilson Finishes Strong In NFL Debut

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson took the field for the first time against the Carolina Panthers in Week 1. Sadly, the Jets offensive line gave Wilson no help as he was sacked six times in this one. It doesn't help that tackle Mekhi Becton (knee) exited with what looks like an MCL injury. Despite that, Wilson made the most of his chances, especially in the second half. He completed 20-of-37 passing attempts for 258 yards and two touchdowns with one interception in the loss. It's going to take time for Wilson to develop chemistry with his teammates. Fantasy managers should consider Wilson a low-end QB2 for Week 2.

  • Zach Wilson Set To Make NFL Debut

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson will make his NFL debut against the Carolina Panthers in Week 1. He won the starting quarterback job out of the preseason, but there wasn't basically any competition. Wilson looked good, but wasn't always playing first string defenders. He'll also be without his main receiver in Jamison Crowder (COVID-19) and possibly Keelan Cole (knee) who is listed as questionable. Wilson could be stuck with Corey Davis, rookie Elijah Moore, and Denzel Mims as his main options. Luckily, the Panthers are middle of the pack when it comes to pass defense. Wilson should be able to post QB2 value, but is looking like more of a stash option right now.

  • Mekhi Becton Practicing In Full

New York Jets left tackle Mekhi Becton (concussion) is practicing in full on Wednesday and has been cleared for the Week 1 season opener against the Carolina Panthers. Becton started 13 games at left tackle for the Jets in his rookie season after being the 11th overall pick in the 2020 draft. The 6-foot-7, 364-pounder will be tasked with giving rookie quarterback Zach Wilson more time in the pocket this year. Becton overcame plantar fasciitis in the spring and dealt with head issues in training camp, but he's healthy and ready to go for the start of the regular season. It's excellent news for Wilson as he looks to turn Gang Green's fortunes around. Wilson will have plenty of ups and downs in his rookie season, making him a much better option for the long term in dynasty/keeper leagues.

  • Tony Romo Has High Praise For Zach Wilson

Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and current NFL analyst Tony Romo had high praise for New York Jets rookie quarterback Zach Wilson. Romo said, "it won't be long before he is a top three-to-five quarterback." He added that he has Patrick Mahomes potential and that he will turn the New York Jets around. It appears Romo is all-in on Zach Wilson. Wilson completed 15-of-20 passes, and threw for 191 yards and two touchdowns in two preseason games against the Giants and Packers during the preseason. He showed a lot of potential in those games. He seemed calm against the Packers in Lambeau Field, and it looked like he knew the offense top to bottom. Wilson and the Jets will head to Carolina to face the Panthers in Week 1 of the regular season. Wilson is an intriguing late-round fantasy option, but it's always tough to trust a rookie quarterback.
