Pat Freiermuth A TE2 For Week 4

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth was able to find the end zone for the second time this season in Week 3. The big tight end hasn't seen a heavy volume of targets, which has made him mainly touchdown dependent in fantasy leagues. The lack of targets is a bit concerning considering the Steelers are still without Diontae Johnson (hamstring) who is on the injured reserve. Right now, Freiermuth appears to be the No. 2 option behind George Pickens. That being said, he should continue to see a handful of targets. He'll get a favorable matchup versus the Houston Texans in Week 4. Fantasy managers can put Freiermuth on the TE2 radar for this week.

Pat Freiermuth Scores In Week 3 Victory

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth caught three of his four targets for 41 yards and a touchdown in a 23-18 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Sunday night marked a welcome return to form for Freiermuth, who totaled just two receptions for five yards through the first two weeks of the season. With quarterback Kenny Pickett showing signs of improvement this week, Freiermuth should be trusted as a reliable fantasy option going forward. The 24-year-old will get a soft matchup against the Houston Texans in Week 4.

Pat Freiermuth Should Bounce Back Against Raiders

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth was shut down in Week 2 but will have a great opportunity to get back on track in a Week 3 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. Last week, Pittsburgh faced the Cleveland Browns, who were stout against fantasy tight ends in 2022. The Raiders, on the other hand, were much more friendly to the position last season and have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to tight ends so far in 2023. The Steelers' offense is difficult to trust right now, but Freiermuth has been a solid fantasy option in the past and should be viewed as a low-end TE1 for Sunday night's contest.

Pat Freiermuth Held To One Catch Against Browns

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth finished with just one reception for two yards in a Week 2 victory over the Cleveland Browns. As a reliable option for quarterback Kenny Pickett in 2022, it was surprising to see Freiermuth uninvolved on Monday night, especially with Diontae Johnson (hamstring) sidelined. It's worth noting, however, that Cleveland's defense has been stout against fantasy tight ends in recent years. The third-year pro will look to bounce back against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 3.

Pat Freiermuth Upgraded To Full Practice Participant

After being listed as limited in Thursday's practice, Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth (chest) was able to put in a full practice on Friday. Freiermuth suffered a chest injury in the Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, but it doesn't appear to be very serious and he should be available to play in Week 2 on Monday night against the division-rival Cleveland Browns. The 24-year-old caught just one of his four targets in the season opener, but his one reception went for a three-yard touchdown. With Diontae Johnson (hamstring) expected to miss multiple weeks, Freiermuth should have better games in the coming weeks and be viable as a low-end TE1 for fantasy managers.

Steelers Optimistic About Pat Freiermuth

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said he's optimistic about tight end Pat Freiermuth (chest) playing in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns on Monday Night Football. Freiermuth injured his chest in the Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday and was forced to leave the game, although it doesn't sound like a serious injury and he may not have to miss any time at all. Before leaving, the 24-year-old caught his only target for a three-yard touchdown. Even though Freiermuth's injury doesn't seem serious, he'll be an even riskier low-end TE1 if he's questionable with the Steelers playing on Monday night in Week 2. If Freiermuth is limited or out against Cleveland, Darnell Washington and Connor Heyward would be forced to pick up the slack at the tight end position.

Pat Freiermuth Finds End Zone In Week 1 Loss

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth (chest) finished with just one reception, a three-yard touchdown, in the team's 30-7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Just moments before Freiermuth scored Pittsburgh's only points of the contest, the 24-year-old sustained a hard hit to the chest that forced him to the sideline for a few plays. With Diontae Johnson (hamstring) suffering an injury of his own, the Steelers will hope to have Freiermuth at full health for Week 2 as a reliable target for quarterback Kenny Pickett. Assuming he's available, Freiermuth will continue to be a low-end fantasy TE1 going forward and can be started against the Cleveland Browns next week.

Pat Freiermuth A Worthwhile Fantasy Option In Week 1

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth has been productive through the first two seasons of his career and will look to build on a solid foundation in his third NFL campaign. His first chance to do so will come in a home contest against the San Francisco 49ers, who were stingy against opposing tight ends in 2022. Even in a difficult matchup, however, Freiermuth should come through for fantasy purposes as a reliable target for quarterback Kenny Pickett. Fantasy managers should feel comfortable deploying Freiermuth as a top-12 option in Week 1 lineups.

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth hauled in his only target for a 25-yard touchdown in a 27-15 preseason victory over the Buffalo Bills. Freiermuth's chemistry with quarterback Kenny Pickett was on full display when the two connected on a perfect deep pass over the middle of the field that led him into the end zone. The 24-year-old will look to build on a solid 2022 season in which he finished as the fantasy TE8. If Pittsburgh's offense takes a step forward in 2023, Freiermuth could prove to be a solid value in the middle rounds of fantasy drafts.

Offseason In Review: Pittsburgh Steelers

Last season marked the beginning of the post-Ben Roethlisberger era in Pittsburgh, as well as Omar Khan's first year in the general manager role. A slow start seemed to threaten an end to the team's 19-year streak of non-losing seasons, but a strong stretch after the bye week resulted in a 9-8 record. That was […]

The Steelers added an intriguing member to their tight end group during the draft by selecting Darnell Washington. Their incumbents at the position appear likely to delay his ascent into a significant role as a rookie, however. Washington was one of several members of a celebrated TE class in 2023 after his three-year career at Georgia. […]
