Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman tied for the second-most targets on the team with Odell Beckham Jr. and J.K. Dobbins in the Week 1 win over the Houston Texans. The speedy wideout out of Minnesota finished with 35 yards on three catches and no scores. One of the biggest unknowns heading into this season for the Ravens was which receiver would emerge as the number-one option. Bateman wasn't the alpha this time around, but that could change if he continues to be a reliable pass-catcher. He'll look for some more opportunities against division rival Cincinnati in Week 2.

His biggest issue has been health as he's only played a total of 18 games in his two seasons so far. If he can stay on the field, he has shown that he has the necessary tools to become the number one option on this squad. He's posted a line of 61 catches for 800 yards and three touchdowns so far in his career, and he could find some extra breathing room playing alongside Odell Beckham Jr. and Zay Flowers. For Week 1, Bateman is a risky flex play as this offense is mostly unknown at the moment and we aren't sure who will emerge as Lamar Jackson's favorite target outside of Mark Andrews.

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman (foot) has returned to practice at training camp on Friday after sitting out the last two days. Bateman didn't suffer a setback with his surgically repaired foot, and he remains on track to be ready for the start of the 2023 regular season. The 23-year-old should remain a big part of Baltimore's passing attack, but he'll have real competition for targets this year after the additions of veterans Odell Beckham Jr. and Nelson Agholor and rookie first-rounder Zay Flowers. Bateman only managed to play in six games in 2022 due to his foot injury, so if he stays healthy this year, he should bounce back. However, fantasy managers should be hesitant to consider him as anything more than a WR4/flex.

But his ADP should slowly rise as he proves his health in camp and the preseason.

If Bateman's absence lingers into the regular season, Flowers could possibly take on an expanded role in the early goings.
