Bears To Re-Sign QB Nathan Peterman
Each of the top two members of Chicago’s quarterback depth chart from last season will be in place for 2023. The Bears are re-signing backup QB Nathan Peterman, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network (Twitter link). The former Bills fifth-rounder had an unflattering start to his career in Buffalo, but he landed a backup role with […]

The Bears made history Friday by becoming the first NFL team to trade the No. 1 pick in the draft prior to April – since the draft was moved to April in 1976. Their return from the Panthers – four draft picks spread across three years and receiver D.J. Moore – will go a long way in […]

The Chicago Bears are widely expected to trade the No. 1 overall pick of this year's NFL draft, but league sources are indicating that there's a chance they could trade down twice within the first round. It would result in the Bears netting multiple first-rounders this year and in 2024, along with several other Day 2 picks. It's unlikely Chicago would want to move down past the No. 15 overall pick within the first round. The Bears are moving forward with Justin Fields as their franchise signal-caller after he took a step forward in his second NFL season, but they'll need to surround him with better talent on offense, especially at the wide receiver position.

Colts GM Chris Ballard Addresses Possible Trade-Up
Free agency has yet to begin, but plenty of interest already surrounds this year’s draft with the top pick up for sale. A number of teams could be in play to move up the board, particularly those in need of a franchise quarterback. The Colts certainly fit that description, and as the current owners of […]
Mar 3 · Pro Football Rumors Bears Colts Justin Fields Will Levis Anthony Richardson C.J. Stroud Bryce Young nfl draftSignificant Interest In Bears' No. 1 Overall Pick
There is significant interest in the Chicago Bears' No. 1 overall pick in this year's NFL draft, and Bears general manager Ryan Poles has made it clear that the No. 1 overall pick is for sale at the right price with the team likely to continue on with Justin Fields as their franchise quarterback. Among the teams expected to show interest are the Houston Texans, who hold the No. 2 pick, Atlanta Falcons, Indianapolis Colts (No. 4 pick) and Carolina Panthers. The Arizona Cardinals hold the No. 3 pick, and new general manager Monti Ossenfort is open to trading that pick as well. If teams trade up into the No. 1 and 3 spots this year, we could see three QBs come off the board in April to open things up.

Bears Plan For Justin Fields To Be Their Starter
When asked about Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields being the starter, general manager Ryan Poles said, "That's the plan right now." The Bears will continue to evaluate all of the quarterback options at the top of this year's draft class before making a firm decision, but they are currently expected to trade the No. 1 overall pick in April's draft. Alabama's Bryce Young and Ohio State's C.J. Stroud are the consensus top two QB prospects heading into this year's draft, but with the Bears invested in Fields as their franchise signal-caller, they are expected to pass on both Young and Stroud. The 23-year-old Fields nearly broke the NFL record for QB rushing yards in his second NFL season, and he finished with 2,242 passing yards, 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, adding eight rushing TDs. Fields has the potential to be one of the most dynamic QBs in the NFL, but he'll need more receiving weapons in order to do so.

Bears "Leaning Toward" Trading No. 1 Overall Pick
The Chicago Bears have already been approached by multiple teams about trading this year's No. 1 pick in the draft and they are said to be "leaning toward" moving the pick, according to sources. The Bears have said that they are moving forward with quarterback Justin Fields as their franchise signal-caller, so it makes sense that they'd be willing to move the No. 1 overall selection because they aren't in the market for one of this year's top QBs, such as Alabama's Bryce Young or Ohio State's C.J. Stroud. Fields took a noticeable step forward in his second NFL season and first as the full-time starter in 2022, and he could eventually become a high-end QB1 in fantasy if the Bears get him some receiving help.

Bears Receiving Calls On No. 1 Pick; Team "Leaning Toward" Trade
The NFL Scouting Combine takes place this week, and its first significant development has already reportedly taken place. Multiple teams have inquired about the availability of the first overall pick in this year’s draft, and the Bears are certainly open to the possibility of moving it. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports (via Twitter) that Chicago is […]

The Chicago Bears have decided to move forward with quarterback Justin Fields as their franchise signal-caller and will attempt to trade the No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft instead of drafting a QB prospect. Fields impressed the organization with how he played and handled the 2022 season in just his second NFL campaign. He missed two games due to injury and had his ups and downs, but he really took a big step forward and finished with 2,242 yards, 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions with a 60.4% completion percentage in 15 games. Fields really impressed with his legs, racking up 1,143 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on 160 carries. If the Bears can give the 23-year-old better weapons in the passing attack, Fields could continue to improve. Because of his elite rushing ability alone, he'll be in the QB1 conversation in 2023 in fantasy.

Bears GM: Would Need To Be 'Blown Away' To Draft QB At No. 1
Seeing their 10-game losing streak prove enough — thanks to some help from their former coach in his Texans finale — the Bears have a number of options at No. 1 overall. By virtue of the Texans’ Lovie Smith-guided win Sunday, the Bears have a chance to make the No. 1 overall pick for the […]
Jan 10 · Pro Football Rumors Bears Justin Fields nfl draftBears Plan To Stick With Justin Fields In 2023
The Chicago Bears are committed to quarterback Justin Fields as their starter for next season. When asked about the plans for Fields as the team's starter in 2023, general manager Ryan Poles said he has to be "absolutely blown away" to take a QB at No. 1 in this year's draft. While the Bears finished last in the NFL in 2022 with only three wins, Fields took a step forward in his second season with a 60.4% completion percentage, 2,242 passing yards, 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 15 games played. He also had 160 rushing attempts (second-most) for a league-high 1,143 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. Chicago needs to get Fields some more help in the passing game and on the offensive line, but it would be a big surprise if they took at signal-caller to kick off the 2023 draft.

Justin Fields Won't Play In Week 18
Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields (hip) won't play in Week 18 against the Minnesota Vikings. The second-year quarterback has dealt with nagging injuries all season. Last week he suffered a strained hip against the Detroit Lions. While Fields finished the game, he clearly wasn't at 100%. With the Bears having nothing to play for in Week 18, it's no surprise that the star quarterback won't be on the field. Fantasy players with a championship matchup in Week 18 will need to find a replacement option for the second-year player on the waiver wire. However, Nathan Peterman is not an ideal replacement.

Bears Considering Sitting Justin Fields In Week 18?
Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said the team is considering whether to play quarterback Justin Fields in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. "The health of the football team, the entire health of the team to me is ... where we were two weeks ago is different than where we are now. So I think it's important we evaluate that. We'll have conversations about everybody and what it's in the best interest of our team." Eberflus said two weeks ago that Fields would play in the final two weeks, but after taking a beating (season-high seven sacks), the Bears are rethinking their stance for their franchise signal-caller in a meaningless game for them. If Fields does play, he might just try to get 64 more rushing yards to break the single-season rushing record for a QB before they pull him. Either way, expect to see some of Nathan Peterman to close out the year.

Justin Fields Struggles Passing In Week 17
Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields had a tough time throwing the ball during Sunday's blowout loss to the Lions. The signal-caller completed just seven of his 21 attempts while adding one touchdown and one interception. However, he looked fantastic running the ball, amassing 132 yards off 10 carries. With the Bears' season unofficially finished, it will be interesting if Fields is out there for the season finale versus the Vikings in Week 18. But if he does suit up, he's worth considering for DFS contests.
