Bears To Sign OL Michael Schofield
The Bears have brought in an experienced offensive lineman ahead of training camp opening up. ESPN’s FIeld Yates reports (via Twitter) that Chicago is signing Michael Schofield. The move comes one day after he worked out with the team. The 31-year-old was a third-round pick of the Broncos in 2014. He was a full-time starter at right […]
Jul 25 · Pro Football Rumors Bears Justin FieldsMichael Schofield Works Out With Bears
Free-agent guard Michael Schofield worked out with the Bears. The veteran started 12 of his 15 games with the Chargers last season, bringing his total to 81 career starts since entering the league in 2014. He can play multiple spots on the line, which would be ideal for the Bears, a team that desperately needs help protecting quarterback Justin Fields this season.

Bears OL Teven Jenkins Finishes Minicamp With Second-String Offense
Bears OL Teven Jenkins began practicing with the Chicago’s second-team offense towards the end of OTAs, and that continued throughout the club’s mandatory minicamp, per Adam Jahns of The Athletic (subscription required). Meanwhile, Braxton Jones has been operating as the first-string left tackle, with 2021 fifth-rounder Larry Borom at RT. Jenkins, the No. 39 overall pick […]

Jun 6 · ESPN Bears Justin Fields David MontgomeryJustin Fields Embracing Leadership Role In Year 2
Chicago Bears second-year quarterback Justin Fields appears to be a more established leader entering this year's offseason workouts. "Me not knowing if I'm going to be the leader of the team or not last year compared to this year means a whole different mindset," said Fields. "Just comfortability and knowing that I'm going to be the guy." Fields struggled in his first season but was also thrust into action far earlier than expected, making his first start in Week 3 due to an injury to quarterback Andy Dalton. Fields finished 2021 with 1,870 passing yards, seven touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 12 games (10 starts), with an abysmal 26.4 QBR. However, if he can take a step forward with new head coach Matt Eberflus replacing Matt Nagy, Fields' dual-threat ability could make him an intriguing fantasy value, especially in 2QB and Best Ball formats. His development could also unlock the value of wide receiver Darnell Mooney and tight end Cole Kmet.

Justin Fields Has Confidence In His Receivers
Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields said he has confidence in his wide receiver group after additions such as Tajae Sharpe, Byron Pringle and Equanimeous St. Brown this offseason. "We don't have an Odell Beckham Jr. or a Cooper Kupp on our team, but at the end of the day I think if everybody is on their P's and Q's, and we're on top of everything and not making mistakes, the players we have right now are good enough," Fields said. Darnell Mooney cemented himself as the team's No. 1 wideout by posting 1,055 receiving yards in his second NFL season last year. The Bears also added talented rookie Velus Jones Jr., so Fields won't be without playmakers. Fantasy managers should consider the dual-threat QB as a QB2 with upside heading into his second season.

Justin Fields Looking Good
Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields ended voluntary minicamp with a poor showing in seven-on-seven drills, but he has been praised by players and coaches during organized team activities this week. "He is ahead of pace," quarterbacks coach Andrew Janocko said. "I think he has really gone to work mentally in the classroom, away from the classroom, what he is doing with his iPad at night, how he studies, how he is ready and prepared the next day, how he comes and approaches every day." Fields' development will be interesting to watch as he learns a new offense under first-time offensive coordinator Luke Getsy. Fields has intriguing dual-threat skills at QB, but even though the Bears added receiver Velus Jones Jr. in the draft, it remains to be seen if Fields can take a big step forward in his second year with a lackluster group of weapons around him.
