  • Najee Harris Back At Practice

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris (foot) returned to practice at training camp on Monday after he sat out of the team's preseason opener last weekend against the Seattle Seahawks. Harris was a full participant at practice for the first time in two weeks after working his way back from a foot injury. Harris' injury was never serious, but the Steelers chose to play it safe with their star running back and limit him early in camp. While the 24-year-old's workload should shrink a bit in his second NFL season after he led the league in touches in 2021, Harris will still be Pittsburgh's workhorse running back and is a no-doubt RB1 in fantasy football.

  • Najee Harris Could See Lighter Workload

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris could see a lighter workload heading into next season. The second-year back saw 307 carries for 1,200 yards, and seven touchdowns during his first season in Pittsburgh. He also hauled in 74 receptions for 467 yards and three touchdowns through the air. Clearly, Harris was heavily used in the offense and the team doesn't want to go overboard with Harris. That being said, Benny Snell could be seeing more chances on short-yardage situations. Also, Anthony McFarland Jr. should get carries as well. Fantasy managers shouldn't be too worried as he should remain the workhorse back. However, it's unlikely he gets near 300 carries again this upcoming season.

  • Najee Harris Receives Medical Attention For Foot

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris (foot) received medical attention on the sidelines on his left foot during training camp practice on Monday. The severity of his injury is unknown at this time, but expect the Steelers to update his condition later on Monday night or Tuesday morning. The 24-year-old led the NFL in touches by a wide margin in his rookie season in 2021 and finished with 307 carries for 1,200 yards and seven touchdowns, adding 74 receptions for 467 yards and three more TDs to make him the RB4 in fantasy scoring. Pittsburgh is expected to lighten his load somewhat in his second season, but if healthy, he should remain a high-end RB1 target in the early rounds of drafts. If Harris is forced to miss time in camp, Benny Snell Jr., Anthony McFarland Jr. and Jeremy McNichols will see more work.

  • Najee Harris Comfortable With Big Workload

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris led the NFL with 381 touches in 2021 and became the first rookie in league history with 300-plus carries and 70-plus receptions. It's been well-documented that the Steelers want to lighten his load a little bit heading into his second season, but Harris said on the Rich Eisen Show earlier this week that he's comfortable with a huge workload if it helps the team win. "Listen, I didn't have an issue with it. It was the media who had an issue with it. I told them every game, 'If this is the way we're winning, I can carry the load.' I train to carry loads. It's not something that I haven't done before," Harris said. It makes sense for Pittsburgh to give Harris a little more rest in 2022, but even then, he should be considered a top-six fantasy RB1.

  • Steelers Could Add RB; Najee Harris To Remain Workhorse

There aren’t many questions surrounding the Steelers’ approach to the running back position. As a rookie last season, Najee Harris put forth a workload worthy of a Pro Bowl selection and accounted for around 75% of Pittsburgh’s rush attempts, rushing yards, and rushing touchdowns. While that may not sound overwhelming, the next closest player, Benny […]

  • Steelers To Lighten Najee Harris' Workload

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris led all NFL RBs last year in offensive snaps played and touches in 2021. "We are doing that a lot this year (that) I will not be on the field, I guess, (as much)," Harris said. "I will be on the field a lot but on certain downs, I will not be on the field. Just (pick my spots), I guess. Extra rest." Last year, Harris' 980 snaps were 170 more than the league's second-most relied-upon back. His 381 touches were nine more than the league runner-up, and he was on the field for 83.5% of the Steelers offensive plays. Harris' 74 receptions led all RBs, and his 94 targets were tied for the NFL lead. Volume helped Harris finish as the RB4 in fantasy last year, and while fantasy managers never want to hear that a guy will receive less playing time, the reduction in snaps could make Harris more effective when he does get the ball. He'll still be a high-end RB1 target in drafts.

  • Najee Harris Puts On Some Weight

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris now weighs 244 pounds, up from his listed playing weight of 230 pounds last year as a rookie. The Athletic's Mark Kaboly was already raving this offseason that Harris was one of the most physically imposing running backs he's ever seen. The 24-year-old was very impressive in his first NFL season in 2021, going for 1,200 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 307 carries while also adding 74 catches on 94 targets for 467 yards and three more scores. While Pittsburgh's offense might not be as intimidating without quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, Harris should remain heavily involved and will no doubt be a high-end RB1 target in fantasy. He finished as the RB4 last year behind only Jonathan Taylor, Austin Ekeler and Joe Mixon.

  • Najee Harris A Physical Specimen

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris is in excellent shape, and The Athletic's Mark Kaboly said he's never seen a running back who looks like Harris in the 20 years he's been covering the NFL. Harris' quadriceps and calves are humongous but nowhere near the size of his hamstrings. Kaboly said "they look like bowling balls while he is in motion." Harris has natural catching ability and works on it often, so he's quickly becoming a dangerous all-around RB heading into just his second NFL season. The 24-year-old was a Pro Bowler as a rookie when he had 1,200 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 307 carries in 2021, adding 74 receptions for 467 yards and three more scores. Even with questions at quarterback, Harris should be a no-doubt RB1.
