  • Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne Jr. Expected To Play On Friday

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence and running back Travis Etienne Jr. are both expected to take part in Friday's preseason game against the Cleveland Browns. Head coach Doug Pederson said he will let the starters play in a couple of series. Neither of them participated in the Hall-of-Fame game last Thursday, so this will be their first on-field action together. Etienne missed his entire rookie season with a Lisfranc injury, essentially making this his rookie year. Etienne is currently competing with James Robinson (Achilles) to be the lead back in this offense and is expected to have a big role in the receiving game, adding to his fantasy value as a top-24 option, especially in PPR leagues.

  • Travis Etienne Jr. Misses Practice With Illness

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. (illness) was not at practice on Tuesday due to an illness. The 23-year-old has already been ruled out of Thursday's Hall of Fame game against the Las Vegas Raiders, however, he would have been held out of action regardless. In his absence, John Shipley reports that rookie running back Snoop Conner has been getting some time with the first-team offense in team drills. There have been reports that James Robinson (Achilles) is still viewed as the team's lead back, but there is still enough to go around for Etienne to produce solid RB2 numbers for fantasy managers this season. The former Clemson collegiate star figures to be the primary pass-catching back, which gives him more appeal in PPR formats than his backfield mate.

  • Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne Jr. Won't Play Thursday

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence will not play in Thursday's Hall of Fame game against the Las Vegas Raiders, per head coach Doug Pederson. Jake Luton will get the start while C.J. Beathard (groin) will also be among the team's inactives. Travis Etienne Jr. won't suit up either, as the team will take a cautious approach with last year's first-round pick who missed his rookie season with a foot injury. As James Robinson (Achilles) still recovers from a torn Achilles he suffered late last season, Snoop Conner will likely see the most action out of the backfield in the team's first preseason game.

  • Travis Etienne Jr. Impressing In Training Camp

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. has arguably been the biggest star of training camp so far, picking up at least one explosive gain in each practice. At this point, he looks like the most dangerous potential weapon the Jaguars have on offense. Concerns about him keeping his trademark speed and explosiveness after a Lisfranc foot injury sidelined him his whole rookie season have mostly been put to bed. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence said the former first-rounder even looks to be in better physical shape than he was during their last year at Clemson. The Jaguars are also moving him around quite bit and is getting the ball in a variety of ways. Even when James Robinson returns in mid-August, Etienne should see plenty of touches, making him a rising RB2 target in fantasy in 2022.

  • Doug Pederson Impressed With Travis Etienne Jr.

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson has been impressed with running back Travis Etienne Jr. so far this offseason. "He's doing a great job handling a lot of information that we're throwing at the guys. We're putting him in different spots and seeing what he can do right now. This is the time to do that stuff, to really experiment on both sides of the ball and see what the guys can do. He's one of those guys," Pederson said. Etienne is recovered from the Lisfranc foot injury that sidelined him for all of his rookie season, and he could be the unquestioned lead back if James Robinson (Achilles) isn't recovered in time for Week 1. But even with Robinson in the fold, Etienne could see plenty of pass-catching work, making him especially intriguing as an RB2 with upside.

  • Travis Etienne Jr. Looking Like His Old Self

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. (foot), who missed all of his rookie season due to a Lisfranc injury in the preseason, has been cleared for full practice repetitions at organized team activities and has looked like his old self from an explosiveness standpoint. His ability to make quick cuts and breaks stood out during Tuesday's pass-catching drills. Etienne still has the best pure speed and home run ability before and after the catch of any player in this offense, and he could have a large role as a runner and receiver out of the backfield to begin the 2022 season if James Robinson (Achilles) isn't ready. Expect Etienne's fantasy ADP to slowly climb as the offseason progresses.

  • Travis Etienne Jr. Wants To Be Deebo-Like Weapon

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne, who missed all of his rookie season with a Lisfranc injury, pretty much only caught passes in the team's two-hour practice at organized team activities on Tuesday. "Football is all about matchups so I mean if I could be like Deebo Samuel, I would love that. Honestly, the game is a game of productivity. If you can produce, the team is always going to have a need for you. It's just trying to be the best player I can be so I can be on the field at all times," Etienne said. The 23-year-old was more productive as a pass-catcher at Clemson, and he could be the team's leading RB to open the season if James Robinson (Achilles) isn't ready to go. Etienne said he still has some mental hurdles to clear in regards to his foot, but he should have a high floor in PPR leagues in 2022.

  • Travis Etienne Off To A Good Start In Practice

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne is off to a good start in his recovery from a Lisfranc injury that sidelined him for his entire rookie season in 2021. After recently getting cleared by the team's medical staff and getting in a full practice on Monday, he earned praise from quarterback Trevor Lawrence on his progress. "It's nice," Lawrence said of throwing again to Etienne, his teammate at Clemson University. "Last year we had a year-long break. Everybody's been anxious for him to get back, including myself. He's looked great. He adds a lot of versatility for us really explosive. We're all pumped to have him back." Etienne was selected with the No. 25 overall pick in 2021. The 23-year-old will be one of the most highly anticipated running backs to watch for in fantasy given his delayed debut and his chance to take the lead role in the backfield with running back James Robinson recovering from an Achilles tear.

  • Travis Etienne Jr. A Full-Go For Practices

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said that running back Travis Etienne (foot) is a full-go for all practice activities as the team starts their offseason program. Etienne missed all of his rookie season last year after suffering a Lisfranc injury in training camp. The first-rounder's stock is on the rise heading into the 2022 season, especially with James Robinson behind him while recovering from an Achilles tear. Both Robinson and Etienne will be involved in the Jaguars offense when they are healthy, but Etienne could enter Week 1 as the unquestioned lead back if Robinson isn't ready to go. The Jaguars also have Ryquell Armstead and rookie Snoop Conner in the backfield as depth options.
