  • James Robinson Inactive Versus Bears

New York Jets running back James Robinson will be inactive for the Week 12 matchup against the Chicago Bears. The team hasn't listed an injury designation for Robinson, so possibly he's a healthy scratch. Regardless, Michael Carter will be the lead back for this team on Sunday. This is good news for his fantasy value as he won't have to split up the carries in the backfield. Fantasy managers should be able to count on Carter as a flex play for this matchup with the Bears.

  • James Robinson Set For A Better Game In Week 12

New York Jets running back James Robinson is set to have a better game in Week 12 against the Chicago Bears. Robinson ended up with just 10 total yards in Week 11, but the entire Jets offense only gained 103 yards in that game. Now with Mike White starting under center and the Bears offense struggling to stop any running plays, Robinson and Michael Carter could both put up RB3 numbers and are both at least solid FLEX plays.

  • James Robinson Picks Up Just 10 Yards In Week 11

New York Jets running back James Robinson couldn't get much going in a Week 11 loss to the New England Patriots. He ran the ball seven times, gaining just 10 yards. He was not targeted in the passing game. The Jets offense struggled mightily in this game, with Michael Carter leading the backfield with just 19 yards. Still, it was encouraging to see Robinson end up with only one fewer carry than the backfield leader.

  • James Robinson Has A Tough Matchup In Week 11

New York Jets running back James Robinson will have a tough matchup in a Week 11 game against the New England Patriots. The New England defense has been second best in the league at limiting opposing running backs so far this season. While it is unclear if things will have changed over the Jets bye week, Michael Carter seemed to be running ahead of Robinson before the bye and may continue to do so, leaving Robinson with the smaller share of the backfield. That, combined with the tough matchup, leaves Robinson as a lower-end RB3/4, although there is some upside there.

  • James Robinson Leads The Jets In Week 9 Carries

New York Jets running back James Robinson led the team in carries in a Week 9 win over the Buffalo Bills. Robinson ran the ball 13 times for 48 yards and also caught two passes for five yards and a touchdown. Michael Carter looked like the better runner (12-76-1) in this one, but Robinson looked solid as well, and the 15 touches means he's clearly more than a backup in the offensive plans for the Jets. They'll have their Week 10 bye and then likely continue splitting backfield work between Robinson and Carter. Both will be in the RB3 ranks most weeks, with clear RB2 upside.

  • Jets Optimistic James Robinson Will Play

New York Jets running back James Robinson (knee) has a chance to suit up in Week 9. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, the team is "optimistic" that its newly acquired running back will be able to play despite being added to the injury report on Saturday. Of course, he'll test his knee prior to the game before making an official decision. Robinson made his Jets debut last week, rushing just five times for 17 yards. If active in Week 9, he'll rank as an RB4 for fantasy purposes.

  • James Robinson Questionable Against Buffalo

The New York Jets added running back James Robinson (knee) to their injury report on Saturday, and he's officially questionable to play in Week 9 against the Buffalo Bills. Robinson made his debut with the Jets in the Week 8 loss to the New England Patriots and was used sparingly behind Michael Carter, handling just five carries for 17 yards on 22 percent of the offensive snaps. He also failed to catch his only target. The 24-year-old is probably in line to see more work this weekend, but his injury concern makes him one to avoid in starting fantasy lineups. Robinson should become a bigger part of the Jets offense as the season wears on, but he's tough to trust right now. If he's inactive on Sunday, Michael Carter's fantasy ceiling will be much higher as the bell-cow back. Ty Johnson would likely back him up.

  • James Robinson Could Get More Work In Week 9

New York Jets running back James Robinson should see more work in a Week 9 matchup against the Buffalo Bills. Robinson got just five carries and one target in his Jets debut in Week 8. He was acquired after rookie Breece Hall (knee) was lost for the season. While Michael Carter figures to remain the lead back, Robinson should see an increase in snaps going forward. The matchup with the Bills isn't great, but Robinson could put up FLEX numbers in deeper leagues and is worth holding while we see how this Jets offense develops.

  • James Robinson Will Play In Week 8

New York Jets running back James Robinson (knee) is active for the Week 8 matchup against the New England Patriots. The newly acquired running back was dealing with a minor knee injury. It appears that is behind him and Robinson will make his team debut on Sunday. It's likely that the Jets ease Robinson into action with it being a new scheme. Michael Carter is the better fantasy option between the two for this Week 8 matchup. However, the two are expected to split up the role once Robinson fully understands the system.

  • Jets To Ride With Hot Hand In Backfield

New York Jets offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur said that the team plans to ride the hot hand in the backfield after acquiring running back James Robinson in a trade from the Jacksonville Jaguars this week. "Whoever's got the hot hand, you gotta roll with," LaFleur said. The move was made after rookie Breece Hall (knee) suffered a season-ending torn ACL last Sunday. The Jets could eventually have a near-even timeshare between Michael Carter and James Robinson, but the expectation is that Carter should lead the way by a good margin in Robinson's first game with the team in Week 8 against the New England Patriots. Third-stringer Ty Johnson could have a bigger role on Sunday behind Robinson if Robinson's snaps are limited as he learns the offense.

  • Jets To Ease James Robinson In

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh said that newly acquired running back James Robinson (knee) will practice with the team on Wednesday, but the team will take it slow with him to see where he's at. Saleh also noted that Robinson is a one-cut runner who knows how to get downhill, and he'll be a nice complement to Michael Carter after impressive rookie Breece Hall's season-ending knee injury. Robinson dealt with some knee soreness last week but still played in the Week 7 loss to the New York Giants. The 24-year-old had been falling out of favor in Jacksonville as the lead back, and now he'll share the backfield with Carter in his new home. The Jets haven't committed to Robinson playing in Week 8, and if he is active, expect him to take a back seat to Carter.

  • Jets Acquire James Robinson From Jaguars

The New York Jets are acquiring running back James Robinson from the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday in exchange for undisclosed draft-pick compensation, according to sources. Impressive rookie running back Breece Hall (knee) suffered a season-ending torn ACL in the Week 7 win over the Denver Broncos, so Robinson will help replace him in New York's backfield. The 24-year-old started the year with three straight games with a rushing touchdown, but he has since seen second-year back Travis Etienne Jr. take over. In New York, he'll be sharing the backfield with Michael Carter, who should still be a high waiver-wire priority heading into Week 8. Etienne's fantasy stock is now through the roof, while it remains to be see how the Jets will deploy Robinson in tandem with Carter.

Hours after learning Breece Hall will be lost for the season, the Jets are making a move to replace him. • James Robinson Fails To Record A Touch In Week 7 Loss

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson didn't record a single stat in Sunday's 23-17 loss to the New York Giants. The former undrafted running back got one target that didn't result in a reception and he didn't get a single carry for the Jaguars in Week 7. Travis Etienne Jr. has taken over as the featured back in Jacksonville and even JaMycal Hasty got a rushing attempt against the Giants on Sunday. It was a hot start to the season for the 24-year-old running back, but he's now seen fewer snaps and touches than Etienne in four straight games. With Robinson's role declining each week, he's a risky option moving forward.

  • James Robinson Is A Risky Option In Week 7

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson is an extremely risky option in Week 7 versus the New York Giants. The former undrafted running back has struggled in the last three weeks with 110 rushing yards and zero touchdowns after rushing for 230 yards and four total touchdowns in the first three weeks of the season. It doesn't help that Travis Etienne Jr. has looked more effective recently and the second-year back has received more snaps than Robinson in each of the last three games. With the 24-year-old running back seeing fewer snaps and less passing-down usage, there are a lot of better options in Week 7.

  • James Robinson Limited To 55 Total Yards In Week 6 Loss

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson rushed for 54 yards on 12 attempts while catching one pass for one yard in Sunday's 34-27 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. The former undrafted running back has been quiet in recent weeks with 111 rushing yards and zero touchdowns in the last three weeks after rushing for 230 yards and scoring four total touchdowns in the first three weeks. It doesn't help that Travis Etienne Jr. has been seeing more work in recent weeks, which severely limits Robinson's ceiling. The 24-year-old running back is a flex option that is touchdown-dependent moving forward as long as Etienne continues to be more effective.

  • James Robinson Is Now A Flex Option In Week 6

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson seems to be in flex territory entering a Week 6 bout with the Indianapolis Colts. The third-year back got off to a hot start this season with 263 scrimmage yards and four touchdowns in the first three weeks despite returning from a torn Achilles. However, in the last two weeks, Robinson has seen 53 snaps compared to Travis Etienne Jr. getting 64 snaps. Etienne has also been more effective with his touches in recent weeks, so that doesn't bode well for the former undrafted back. With his role decreasing in recent weeks, Robinson is a flex option in Week 6 versus the Colts solely due to his red-zone usage and touchdown upside.

  • James Robinson Limited To 39 Total Yards In Week 5 Loss

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson was limited to 27 rushing yards on 10 attempts while he also caught two passes for 12 yards in the Week 5 loss to the Houston Texans. The former undrafted running back was unable to get anything going on the ground and it didn't help that the Jaguars were playing from behind in the second half. Also, Travis Etienne Jr. was more effective on the ground than Robinson as the second-year back totaled a career-best 114 yards on Sunday. After accumulating 263 total yards and four touchdowns in the first three weeks, the 24-year-old back has failed to eclipse 30 rushing yards in back-to-back weeks. With Etienne potentially getting more work now, Robinson may see a massive hit in his value moving forward.

  • James Robinson Has Quiet Outing In Week 4 Loss To Eagles

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson was unable to get much going against the Philadelphia Eagles in the team's Week 4 loss. The 24-year-old running back finished the game with a season-low 29 rushing yards on eight attempts. Along with having a season-low in rushing yards, the former undrafted running back had his first game of the season where he failed to score a touchdown for the Jaguars. With Jacksonville playing from behind late in the game, it was Travis Etienne Jr. who saw more snaps due to the Jaguars wanting to use the second-year back more in the passing game. The good news for Robinson is that he'll have a solid chance to bounce back in Week 5 against the lackluster run defense of the Houston Texans.

  • James Robinson Poised To Perform Well Again In Week 4

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson is poised for another productive performance in Week 4 versus the Philadelphia Eagles. The former undrafted running back has looked fantastic to begin the season despite returning from a torn Achilles. In the first three weeks of the season, the 24-year-old running back has tallied 230 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns while tacking on six receptions for 33 yards and another score through the air. Robinson has scored a touchdown in each game this season for the Jaguars and the defense of the Eagles is allowing the third-most yards per attempt (5.4) in the NFL, making him a solid play in Week 4.

  • James Robinson Reaches 100 Rushing Yards In Week 3 Victory

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries in the team's Week 3 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. The former undrafted running back out of Illinois State also brought in all three of his targets for 16 yards to help the Jaguars improve to 2-1 on the season. With Robinson scampering for a 50-yard rushing touchdown versus the Chargers, the third-year back has now scored a touchdown in all three games this season and he has four total touchdowns. Given his consistent role as the No. 1 back for the Jaguars, along with his elite touchdown upside, the 24-year-old running back is an RB2 with RB1 upside due to the number of scoring opportunities he receives.

  • James Robinson Positioned As Solid RB2 Option In Week 3

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson is positioned as a solid RB2 option in Week 3 versus the Los Angeles Chargers. The former undrafted running back out of Illinois State has 34 carries while Travis Etienne Jr. has only received 13 carries in the first two weeks of the season. What has made the 24-year-old running back a viable option in fantasy football again is his ability to find the end zone as he's scored three touchdowns thus far. The good news for Robinson moving forward is that he's the lone running back on the Jaguars to get a red-zone attempt as he's gotten five of them so far. Even though he has a tough matchup against the Chargers, the third-year running back is a solid RB2 in Week 3.

  • James Robinson Finds The End Zone Again In Week 2

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson rushed for 64 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries in the team's Week 2 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. The former undrafted running back also caught both of his targets for 14 yards. It wasn't an efficient day in the yards-per-carry department, but Robinson was able to find the end zone for the second consecutive week, giving him three touchdowns to begin the season. Despite coming off of a torn Achilles a season ago, the 24-year-old running back has been a focal point of Jacksonville's new-look offense. While Travis Etienne Jr. will continue to command touches himself, Robinson has the higher touchdown upside and continues to be a massive value for those that took him in the later rounds of drafts.

  • Travis Etienne Jr., James Robinson To Split Carries

Jacksonville Jaguars running backs Travis Etienne Jr. and James Robinson are expected to continue splitting up the carries. The organization wants to put emphasis on their run game. Last week, Etienne rushed four times for 47 yards, while Robinson carried the ball 11 times for 66 yards and one touchdown. A committee is certainly frustrating for fantasy managers, but they can have value if they both play well. Both players should be considered possible flex options despite splitting up the workload.

  • James Robinson - Week 2 Outlook For Fantasy Football

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson should be viewed as a solid RB3 option in fantasy football ahead of his Week 2 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. Robinson split backfield duties with Travis Etienne last week, and the former still managed to tally an impressive 69 scrimmage yards and two total touchdowns. While his trips to the red zone will likely decrease in Week 2, his role in the offense will look similar. In fact, Robinson remains the favorite to see early-down and short-yardage opportunities in the Jaguars' offense going forward. With the Colts weak at wide receiver and traditionally poor while playing in Jacksonville, the Jaguars have a chance to remain very competitive in this game, which bodes well for Robinson's usage.

  • Travis Etienne And James Robinson Split Snaps In Week 1

Jacksonville Jaguars running backs Travis Etienne and James Robinson are one of the backfield battles to monitor. In Week 1, the total snaps were nearly even with a 51-49 split in favor of the sophomore. As expected, Robinson accounted for 60% of the carries compared to 30% for Etienne, while the reverse was true of the passing game, where Etienne saw 75% of the long-down and distance work and 100% of the two-minute offense. Perhaps most intriguing is that the 23-year-old received 100% of the short-yardage opportunities. The two project to remain in a timeshare moving forward, making both top-36 options, but Etienne should have better fantasy football production if his role stays the same.

  • James Robinson Scores Two Touchdowns In Return From Injury

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson combined for 69 yards from scrimmage on 12 total touches while scoring two touchdowns in Sunday's loss to the Washington Commanders. The former undrafted running back played in his first game on Sunday since Week 16 of last season after suffering a torn Achilles. Robinson led all running backs on the Jaguars in touches in Week 1, which is notable given how soon he was able to make a recovery from his injury. The third-year running back out of Illinois State will share the backfield with Travis Etienne Jr. this season, however, he can be an RB2 if he continues to get the red-zone touches.

  • James Robinson Officially Active In Week 1

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (Achilles) is officially active for the Week 1 season opener on Sunday against the Washington Commanders. Most fantasy managers were down on Robinson heading into draft season after he suffered a torn Achilles last year. On top of it, second-year back Travis Etienne Jr. is a major road block to Robinson's fantasy ceiling in 2022. However, head coach Doug Pederson hinted that the 24-year-old wouldn't have any limitations this weekend, so he could have a bigger early down workload than most expect. It remains uncertain how Jacksonville will split up the touches between Robinson and Etienne, which makes Robinson more of a low-upside RB4/flex for fantasy managers in deeper leagues.

Sep 11 · Source via Jaguars James Robinson
  • James Robinson Back To 100 Percent Health

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said that running back James Robinson (Achilles) is 100 percent back from his torn Achilles. Pederson said Robinson's Week 1 workload against the Washington Commanders will depend on how he looks, but he isn't ruling out Robinson having a normal workload. The 24-year-old will no doubt be active this Sunday in the regular season opener, but it remains to be seen how the workload will be distributed between Robinson and second-year back Travis Etienne Jr. Most fantasy managers are down on Robinson entering this season, but he could be more productive than most people think, at least on early downs and near the goal line. Fantasy managers should play it safe to begin the year until we know more about Robinson's specific workload, so he'll be more of an RB4/flex in Week 1.

Sep 7 · Source via Jaguars James Robinson
  • James Robinson Expected To Play In Week 1

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (Achilles) carried a lot of uncertainty during the NFL offseason after a major injury late in 2021. However, Doug Pederson said Robinson "should play" against the Commanders in Week 1. It's tough to know exactly how the workload will be split between Robinson and Travis Etienne, but Etienne is likely healthier at this point in the year, and the franchise will want to see its 2021 first-round pick in action. For now, starting Robinson is a risky move in fantasy football and Etienne could prove to be a high-risk/high-reward play at the RB2 spot in lineups.
