Van Jefferson Not A Reliable Option In Week 3

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson has been the disappointing fantasy option from the team's receiving trio. Despite leading all Rams' receivers in snaps through the first two games, Jefferson has caught just five of his nine targets on the season for 33 yards. It is clear that Matthew Stafford favors Puka Nacua and Tutu Atwell over the 27-year-old receiver. Jefferson should only be started if necessary in deep leagues. He offers a very low floor and a relatively low ceiling and should be avoided in most formats in the team's Week 3 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Van Jefferson Quiet Again In Week 2

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson was the odd man out once again during the team's 30-23 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The fourth-year receiver hauled in one of his four targets for just nine yards. It was assumed that Jefferson would be the Rams' primary receiving target with Cooper Kupp on injured reserve. However, this has yet to be the case. Jefferson has not been a big part of the offense the last two weeks and will try to bounce back against the Bengals in Week 3.

Van Jefferson Steps Into The Team's WR1 Role In Regular Season Opener

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson will be the team's primary outside target with Cooper Kupp out. Jefferson is entering his fourth season in the league and is looking to earn himself a second contract. The 27-year-old receiver has flashed his significant playmaking ability but has yet to show if he can consistently be a reliable fantasy option. Facing Seattle, this will likely be a game where the Rams are playing from behind and forced to throw the ball. Jefferson is a high-risk/high-reward WR3/flex option this week, but he is still someone to look at for DFS lineups.

Van Jefferson Steps Into No. 1 Receiver Role In LA

With Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp (hamstring) having been ruled out for Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks, Van Jefferson steps into the No. 1 receiving role for the Rams with Tutu Atwell and rookie Puka Nacua behind him. Kupp had over a third of the team's target share last year before going down with a season-ending ankle injury after nine games. His specific role as the "F" receiver, as well as his significant amount of option routes, means the Rams' passing game and their run-blocking system will be dramatically altered for however long he is out. Kupp could miss as many as four games if he's placed on Injured Reserve, so the 27-year-old Jefferson now becomes a prime waiver-wire target as receiver depth for fantasy managers.

Van Jefferson Next Up After Cooper Kupp

If Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp (hamstring) isn't ready for the start of the 2023 regular season after suffering a setback with his hamstring injury, Van Jefferson would step into the No. 1 receiving role, with Tutu Atwell and Puka Nacua becoming the second and third receivers, respectively. Ben Skowronek would also have a bigger role on offense. Jefferson only played in 11 games (nine starts) in 2022 after recovering from an ACL injury and finished with 24 catches for 369 yards and three touchdowns. He operated as the No. 1 wideout for the Rams after Kupp's season-ending ankle injury. The 27-year-old is merely a late-round flier in fantasy drafts before the start of the season, but he could be a worthwhile Week 1 lineup option if Kupp is unable to suit up against the Seattle Seahawks.

Ben Skowronek Secures Two Catches In Preseason Loss

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Ben Skowronek played much better in Saturday's 34-17 preseason loss against the Las Vegas Raiders. While Skowronek did have just two catches for 25 receiving yards, he flashed his after-the-catch ability with an impressive 18-yard catch and run from Stetson Bennett . It will still be challenging for the third-year receiver to get real playing time during the regular season, as it is evident that Cooper Kupp , Van Jefferson , Tutu Atwell , and Puka Nacua are all ahead of Skowronek on the wide receiver depth chart. Regardless, he will continue to try and solidify himself a role in this offense as the regular season approaches.

Ben Skowronek Quiet During Preseason Opener

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Ben Skowronek started and played the entirety of the first half in the team's preseason opening loss to the Chargers. Despite this, Skowronek was held to just two catches on three targets for seven yards. While he did start for the team last season, it is not looking like this will happen again, as the rest of the offensive starters sat out for Saturday's game. Skowronek is behind Cooper Kupp, Van Jefferson, and Tutu Atwell as of right now while being outperformed by Puka Nacua. He will look to get back on track and fight for a starting job as the season approaches.

Offseason In Review: Los Angeles Rams

Nothing gold can stay. From Sean McVay‘s 2017 arrival through the 2022 offseason, the Rams treated the football world to a win-now mantra. As draft pick-collecting crusades transpired elsewhere, the Rams’ recovery from a 12-year playoff drought produced two Super Bowl berths and a championship. Evading critics with a George Allen-esque, “eff them picks” M.O. […]
