14 Jalen Hurts, PHI 14 23.4 9.03 8.5

Mike's Thoughts: Rumors of the Eagles trading for Deshaun Watson puts some shade on the Hurts hype, but assuming Hurts is the starter, his running numbers make up a lot of fantasy points to vault him into the Top 10. Update 8/17: Hurts isn't looking great in camp, nor are the skill position players around him (Sanders - drops; Goedert - out of shape; Devonta Smith - injured), causing a drop outside the Top 12.

  • Jalen Hurts To Remain Eagles Starting Quarterback

Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman said that quarterback Jalen Hurts impressed in his first full season as the starter while leading the team to the postseason. Roseman believes that Hurts did enough to keep his job as the starting QB heading into the 2022 season. In his second season in the NFL, Hurts went 265-for-432 for 3,144 passing yards, 16 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also led the league in rushing yards (784) and rushing touchdowns (10) on 139 attempts. Hurts wasn't exceptional with his arm, but he avoided consistent mistakes, and the Eagles transitioned to a run-first offense midway through the season. He is still developing heading into his second full year as a starter, but his rushing prowess alone gives him a high floor as at least a low-end QB1.

  • Jalen Hurts Unsure If He'll Need Surgery

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (foot) had 258 yards and a touchdown on 23-for-43 passing while adding eight carries for 39 yards during the Wild Card round loss to the Buccaneers. He also threw two interceptions, and even worse, he was observed wearing a walking boot during a post-game interview. The 23-year-old stated he's been dealing with the undisclosed ailment for quite some time, and he isn't sure if he will have to undergo surgery during the offseason. Nonetheless, despite his efficient play this year, Hurts doesn't have a firm grasp on the team's starting job for the 2021-22 campaign, so this is undoubtedly a situation to monitor moving ahead as if it could impact his draft stock.

  • Jalen Hurts At Full Strength Heading Into Sunday's Game

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (ankle) was able to practice in full all week and was removed from the final injury report for the wild-card game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. Hurts threw for only 3,144 yards in his second season, which ranked 21st in the NFL, but he lead the league with 782 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns in 15 games played. His rushing prowess alone gives him a pretty solid fantasy floor and makes him worth considering in DFS at his $6,100 DraftKings price tag if you're looking to save money for other positions this weekend. And if the Eagles do have to throw more often than they'd like, Hurts could find success. The Bucs D allowed the eighth-most fantasy points per game to signal-callers this year, including the fourth-most rushing yards to QBs.

  • Jalen Hurts Practicing In Full

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (ankle) was able to get in a full practice on Wednesday. Hurts was held out of the Week 18 regular season finale against the Dallas Cowboys last weekend so he wouldn't aggravate an ankle sprain that he's been managing late in the season. But the 23-year-old looks to be nearing full strength in time for the wild-card matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. Hurts hasn't gone over 300 yards passing in a game since Week 4 and the Eagles have been the best rushing offense all year (159.7 yards per game), but there is plenty of upside for the second-year QB this weekend against a Bucs defense that has allowed the eighth-most fantasy points per game to QBs this year. Hurts' rushing ability gives him considerable upside at his $6,100 DraftKings salary, which ranks eighth among QBs during wild-card weekend.

  • Jalen Hurts Inactive For Week 18, Gardner Minshew Starting

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (ankle) is inactive for Saturday's game against the Dallas Cowboys. He didn't carry an injury designation heading into Week 18, but the team will decide to rest their starting quarterback with a playoff spot locked down. The 23-year-old will finish the 2021 campaign with 3,144 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, nine interceptions while rushing for 784 yards and 10 scores over 15 games in 2021. Gardner Minshew will draw the start in the regular-season finale. The 25-year-old threw for 242 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 13 win over the New York Jets in his previous spot start. Fantasy managers should remove Hurts and adjust their lineups accordingly.

  • Eagles Non-Committal On Whether Jalen Hurts Will Play

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has said that he still hasn't decided if he will play his starters on Saturday against the Dallas Cowboys, including quarterback Jalen Hurts. The Eagles have clinched a playoff spot and are currently the seventh seed but could only move to the sixth seed with a win and some help, so there is speculation about whether that actually matters enough to risk injury to key starters. With the Eagles having already put a bunch of starters on the COVID list on Monday, it's becoming increasingly likely that fantasy managers will be without Eagles players on Saturday. Considering the Cowboys have a few key players on the COVID list themselves and also have little to gain from a win, this could be a game mostly filled with backups. That could make for some interesting DFS GPP plays on Saturday's two-game slate, but not anybody we'd recommend using in season-long leagues.

  • Jalen Hurts Still On The Injury Report

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (ankle) remains on the team's injury report and was listed as limited in Tuesday's practice session. Hurts hasn't been running as much since missing Week 13 due to a sprained ankle, but he should be good to go to start in Week 18 against the division-rival Dallas Cowboys this Saturday. The second-year signal-caller wasn't really needed in the Week 17 win over the Washington Football Team, as he went 17-for-26 for 214 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. Hurts should be more involved as a passer and a runner this weekend against Dallas, but it's unclear if the Eagles will play their starters for the entire game with a playoff spot already locked up.

  • Jalen Hurts Game Manages To A Week 17 Win

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts led the Eagles to a win in Week 17 despite not being personally responsible for any scores. Hurts completed 17 of his 26 pass attempts for 214 yards and ran the ball seven times for 44 yards on the ground. He didn't throw or run for any touchdowns, but he also kept the ball safe, not committing any turnovers. It wasn't a particularly inspiring performance for the fantasy finals, but it was enough for the Eagles to win the divisional game by a 20-16 score and keep their NFL playoff hopes alive.

  • Jalen Hurts - Week 17 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has an excellent matchup against the Washington Football Team in Week 17. Hurts has been a QB1 11 times this season and has an excellent chance for a 12th on Sunday. The Washington defense was destroyed by the Cowboys last week and should be easily shredded by Hurts either through the air, on the ground, or perhaps both. He's a very good option for the fantasy championships.

  • Jalen Hurts Bumps Up To Full Practice

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (ankle) got in a full practice on Thursday after he was limited on Wednesday. Rookie running back Kenneth Gainwell (ankle) was also a full participant Thursday. Hurts appears to slowly be getting past his injured ankle after missing only one game. The 23-year-old threw for 296 yards, one touchdown and one interception and ran the ball in for two more scores two weeks ago in the first meeting against the Washington Football Team. He'll be without running back Miles Sanders (hand), but the combination of Jordan Howard/Boston Scott/Gainwell is plenty of capable of carrying the load to help the offense. Hurts enters Week 17 as the QB7 in fantasy this year and will be a strong QB1 option once again for those in fantasy championship matchups this week.

  • Limited Practice For Jalen Hurts Wednesday

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (ankle) was limited in the first practice of the week on Wednesday. Hurts continues to manage an ankle injury that caused him to miss only one game, but he should be fine to play in Week 17 against the Washington Football Team. Just two weeks ago, Hurts threw for 297 yards and a touchdown and scored two more touchdowns with his legs against Washington. The second-year signal-caller could see more rushing attempts if running back Jordan Howard (neck) is unable to play this weekend. Remember, Miles Sanders has already been ruled out due to a broken hand suffered last week. The 23-year-old Hurts has a high ceiling due to his rushing ability and should be considered a must-start QB1 in Week 17.

  • Jalen Hurts Throws Two Touchdowns In A Week 16 Blowout

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts got off to a slow start in Week 16 but ended up leading the Eagles to a 34-10 blowout over the New York Giants. Hurts completed 17 of his 29 pass attempts for 199 yards and two touchdowns. He only ran the ball twice for seven yards. The two rushes were a season low by a huge margin, as Hurts has essentially been operating as the lead back on the Eagles offense. Nursing an ankle injury and in a game in which the Eagles were comfortable on defense throughout, Hurts just didn't need to run. He should remain a QB1 next week against the Washington Football Team.

  • Jalen Hurts - Week 16 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (ankle) has been limited in practice all week but is expected to get the start in a Week 16 matchup against the New York Giants. Hurts got off to a slow start in Week 15, but ended up putting up an excellent game, throwing for 296 yards and running in two scores. He struggled last time he faced the Giants, putting up a QB27 performance, his worst of the season. But he and the Eagles offense in general have looked better since then, and his rushing upside makes him an every-week QB1 option with upside. If Hurts is suddenly unavailable, Gardner Minshew would make his second start of the season and would make for a decent fill-in for Hurts in most leagues.

  • Jalen Hurts Limited Wednesday

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (ankle) was listed as limited on the team's estimated Wednesday practice report. Hurts missed just one game thanks to a Week 14 bye after spraining his ankle in Week 12. In his return on Tuesday night against the Washington Football Team, he went 20-for-26 for 296 yards, one touchdown, one interception and a fumble lost while rushing eight times for 38 additional yards and two more touchdowns. The second-year signal-caller tossed three interceptions in the first meeting with the New York Giants in Week 12, but he should be able to bounce back and be a nice QB1 option for fantasy managers. Hurts' ability to use his legs (10 rushing TDs) gives him a high floor as a QB1.

  • Jalen Hurts Totals Three Scores In Week 15

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts had another strong fantasy performance in a Week 15 win over the Washington Football Team. Hurts actually looked good throwing the ball this time around, completing 20 of his 26 pass attempts for 296 yards and a touchdown. He also got charged with throwing an interception, but it was a clear drop by Dallas Goedert that bounced off of his foot and into a defender's hands. Hurts did plenty of damage on the ground like usual as well, running the ball eight times for 38 yards and two rushing touchdowns. Hurts has been a "better in fantasy than real life" quarterback for most of the season, but he legitimately looked like a good NFL quarterback this week, albeit against the few remaining healthy pieces of a Washington defense. Hurts will remain a top-10 fantasy quarterback for Week 16 lineups.

  • Andre Dillard Placed On COVID-19 List

The Philadelphia Eagles placed offensive tackle Andre Dillard on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday. Dillard, a third-year tackle, has started four games at left tackle and has played 33 percent of the offensive snaps this year as a valuable reserve for the team's offensive line. Rookie left guard Landon Dickerson is also on the COVID list this week. Dillard has been Jordan Mailata's primary back on quarterback Jalen Hurts' blind side this year. He will not be eligible to play in Week 15 against the Washington Football Team on Tuesday and could be in danger of missing the Week 16 divisional game against the New York Giants as well.

  • Jalen Hurts Will Start Under Center In Week 15

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (ankle) has been bumped off the team's injury report ahead of Tuesday's matchup with Washington, confirming him as the starting quarterback for Week 15. The news was expected after Hurts was able to practice in full again Monday, giving him the chance to face Washington for what could be the first of two times over the next three weeks. Hurts struggled mightily in a Week 12 defeat his last time out, throwing a career-high three interceptions vs. the Giants. After a one-game absence, Hurts will bump Gardner Minshew from the starting gig, reasserting himself as a top-tier DFS option, along with solid season-long upside due to his reliance on the run game. Hurts has exceeded 200 yards passing just once since Week 4, so he does carry an element of risk, but his eight rushing touchdowns this year provide enough substance to balance that out in many formats.

  • Jalen Hurts Practices In Full

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (ankle) practiced in full on Sunday, so it seems like he'll start on Tuesday against the Washington Football Team. Although Washington's cumulative stats appear to be extremely favorable for opposing offenses, they have played well in the last several weeks. Inversely, Hurts' production has dropped off significantly since the beginning of the season. His fantasy production has come from primarily yardage in garbage time and unreliable rushing yards. The 23-year-old is a great athlete and could be a starting quarterback for years to come but only if he can to improve. For now, however, he's too inconsistent to be considered a top fantasy quarterback. Hurts is certainly still a QB1 and should be started as such in most leagues, just fantasy managers shouldn't pencil in 25 points in their quarterback slot.

  • Jalen Hurts - Week 15 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (ankle) was able to practice in full on Friday and is likely to play when the Eagles take the field on Tuesday evening against the Washington Football Team. Backup Gardner Minshew did an admirable job in a Week 14 win, but Hurts remains the Eagles starter when healthy. While coach Nick Sirianni said the team was "hopeful" Hurts would be able to start, all signs point to him being on the very likely side of questionable. As always thanks to his running ability, Hurts will be ranked as a QB1.

  • Jalen Hurts Records Full Practice Session Friday

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (ankle) was able to fully participate in Friday's practice, leading to head coach Nick Sirianni saying that his starting QB was "trending in the right direction" to take the field for Sunday's game against Washington. If he suits up, Hurts would be looking to course correct after going just 7-for-20 through the air for 72 yards against Washington in his first matchup against the club last season. The 23-year-old has a vice-like grip on the starting QB gig when healthy, with Gardner Minshew not likely to factor into the plans during Week 15. While Hurts has thrown for 200 yards or better just once in his last eight games, he has rushed for 469 yards and seven scores in that span, drastically elevating his DFS value.

  • Jalen Hurts Puts In Another Limited Practice

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (ankle) was limited for the second consecutive day in practice on Thursday. Hurts missed the Week 13 game and had last week's bye to rest his high ankle sprain. He has been splitting repetitions with backup Gardner Minshew in practice this week, but the fact that Hurts is even out there gives him a shot to play in Week 15 against the Washington Football Team. As of right now, the 23-year-old should be considered highly questionable to play this weekend, and if he does suit up, his ability to scramble and make plays with his legs could be compromised, giving him a lower ceiling as a surefire QB1. The good news if Hurts does play? Washington's D allows the third-most passing yards per game (259.1).

Dec 16 · Source via Eagles Jalen Hurts
  • Jalen Hurts Dealing With High Ankle Sprain

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (ankle) is dealing with a high ankle sprain, which can be tricky. It explains why he's splitting repetitions with Gardner Minshew this week in practice. Hurts is trying to play this weekend against the Washington Football Team, but if he's not ready, Minshew will make his second straight start. Head coach Nick Sirianni said that Hurts is "trending upward" after missing Week 13 and having last week's bye to heal up, but the second-year QB isn't a guarantee to play this Sunday morning. And while the matchup against Washington is a really good one, Hurts' QB1 ceiling could be much lower if he plays and is limited in what he can do outside the pocket with his legs. Minshew makes for a fine QB2 streamer in leagues that start two QBs if Hurts misses another game.

  • Jalen Hurts Trending Upward

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said that both quarterbacks Jalen Hurts (ankle) and Gardner Minshew will get repetitions in the team's walkthrough practice on Wednesday, but Hurts is "trending upward." Hurts missed the team's last game in Week 13, but he had last week's bye to heal up and should be able to start in Week 15 against the Washington Football Team. The second-year signal-caller is the QB10 in fantasy after 14 weeks and should be in most starting lineups this weekend as long as he's active. The Football Team defense is missing most of their defensive line due to COVID-19, and they allow the most fantasy points per game to QBs this year. They've also surrendered the third-most passing yards per game (259.1) in 2021.

Dec 15 · Source via Eagles Jalen Hurts
  • Jalen Hurts To Remain The Starter

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said that quarterback Jalen Hurts (ankle) will remain the team's starter, but that he's not necessarily sure when that will be. After backup Gardner Minshew went 20-for-25 for 242 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions, Hurts' role could have been in jeopardy. However, despite Sirianni's confidence boost, Minshew's strong performance doesn't really endanger Hurts' job security. If Hurts struggles for a prolonged period after missing Week 13 with an ankle injury, the Eagles may be willing to replace him with Minshew after seeing what he's capable of. With all of that said, none of this affects Hurts' fantasy value, it just contributes to his downside a little. Continue starting Hurts once he's healthy.

  • Jalen Hurts Officially Out, Gardner Minshew Starting

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (ankle) is officially inactive in Week 13 against the New York Jets. The Eagles wanted to see how Hurts looked Sunday morning, but they made the decision to hold him out. Gardner Minshew, who made 20 starts for the Jacksonville Jaguars the last two seasons, will start under center in an excellent matchup against a Jets defense that has surrendered the fourth-most passing yards per game (266.2) on the season. And head coach Nick Sirianni hinted that the Eagles offense could look different with Minshew under center, so there could be a shift away from the run-heavy approach that the Philly offense has maintained in recent weeks. Minshew Mania is back, even if it's just for one game. Because of the matchup alone, the 25-year-old is firmly in the QB2 streaming conversation in leagues that start two QBs.

  • Jalen Hurts Ruled Out, Gardner Minshew To Start

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 13 against the New York Jets, according to a source. Hurts was hurt in the fourth quarter of the Week 12 loss to the New York Giants and was limited in practice all week. Head coach Nick Sirianni said earlier in the week that the offense could look different if Gardner Minshew starts. The Eagles have been very run-heavy the last five weeks, but that could change with Minshew under center and running back Boston Scott (illness) questionable and RB Jordan Howard (knee) out. Miles Sanders should be the primary back, even if Scott plays, and his ceiling as an RB2 just went up slightly with Hurts out for the week in a great matchup against the porous Jets run D. Minshew will be a low-end QB2 with some upside in superflex leagues. ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that the Eagles want to see how hurts feels Sunday morning before making a final decision about his Week 13 status.

  • Jalen Hurts Slapped With Questionable Tag

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said that quarterback Jalen Hurts (ankle) is questionable for the Week 13 game against the New York Jets. "It's an unknown right now," Sirianni said. Hurts got in some limited practices this week, so he seems to be on the right side of questionable. Fantasy managers will at least know first thing Sunday morning whether the second-year signal-caller is active. And if he is active, Hurts should be in starting lineups as a QB1, although limited mobility because of his ankle injury could hurt his overall ceiling. Hurts had just 129 passing yards, no touchdowns and a season-high three interceptions in last week's loss to the New York Giants, but the Jets defense is usually a good cure for what is ailing a QB. They give up the fourth-most passing yards per game and have surrendered the eighth-most fantasy points per game to QBs in the last three weeks. Gardner Minshew II would be in line to make his first start of the year if Hurts can't play.

  • Jalen Hurts - Week 13 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (ankle) was limited in practice again on Thursday, but has said that he will play on Sunday against the New York Jets. With his ankle clearly going to be a factor even if he plays, Hurts has a much wider range of possible fantasy outcomes than usual. The Eagles may still rely on their running game, but they might hand the ball off to their backs more often than letting Hurts keep the ball himself. Still, coming off the worst performance of his career in Week 12 and with a terrible Jets defense to go up against, Hurts and the Eagles should not have too hard of a time moving the ball. He's a QB1 with upside, especially if he is able to get in a full practice on Friday.

  • Jalen Hurts Limited By Ankle Injury

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (ankle) still has a chance to play on Sunday against the Jets, but head coach Nick Sirianni admitted that Hurts' ankle wouldn't be 100%, and he would likely not run as much. While fantasy managers would be excited for Hurts to play against a poor Jets defense, his limitations on the ground would certainly cap his fantasy value. He would still be a good starting option against the Jets, but don't expect fireworks in the box score as the Eagles would likely continue to rely heavily on their running backs, making Boston Scott a potentially strong play if Jordan Howard (knee) misses another game.

  • Jalen Hurts Has Uncertain Status For Week 13

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (ankle) is dealing with an ankle injury that he suffered in Sunday's loss to the New York Giants. With the team's BYE week coming up, Hurts has an uncertain status for Week 13 against the lowly New York Jets. Should he be held out of the lineup, Gardner Minshew II would be the team's starting quarterback. The Eagles' run-heavy offense would likely once again be put on display even without their dual-threat quarterback, so Minshew wouldn't offer much fantasy appeal even in a great matchup with the Jets. DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert wouldn't have their fantasy value decreased too much, if at all, considering Minshew has shown in the past he is able to support his pass-catchers fantasy-wise. If Hurts is healthy enough to play and is active on Sunday, he would once again be a solid QB1 option for fantasy managers.

He did not throw a touchdown, but did throw three interceptions. On the ground, Hurts ran the ball eight times, gaining 77 yards. The quarterback once again led the team in rushing yards, but without finding his way into the end zone, it ended up as one of his worst fantasy performances of the season. In fact, it was only the second game of the year where Hurts hasn't recorded a touchdown either through the air or on the ground. He'll have a get-right matchup in Week 13 against the New York Jets.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has had plenty of issues on the field this season, but he's still been a fantasy QB1 10 times this season while no other quarterback has made that list more than seven times. For those who value consistency in their signal caller, there's an argument to be made for Hurts being the top fantasy quarterback so far. Week 12 sees the Eagles take on the New York Giants, who have actually done well against opposing quarterbacks this year. Still, the Eagles shouldn't have too hard of a time moving the ball, and with Hurts operating as the team's top running back, it's easy to see him finishing with yet another QB1 week. He's a top-six option for Week 12 fantasy lineups.

Hurts completed just 13 of his 24 pass attempts for 147 scoreless yards, but he ran the ball 18 times for 69 yards and the three scores. Essentially the Eagles RB1 who happens to throw the ball now and then, Hurts continues to be an excellent fantasy asset despite his struggles on the actual football field. His three Week 11 touchdowns came from one, three, and 24 yards out, with the last one essentially closing out the game in the fourth quarter. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is set for another QB1 performance against the New Orleans Saints in Week 11. Hurts has done very little to impress with his arm this season, but has been a fantasy QB1 in all but one of the games he's played. That's the difference a running quarterback can make in a fantasy lineup. This will be a tough matchup however, as the Saints have been excellent against the run, allowing the fewest rushing yards per game on average. We'll see if Hurts having to throw actually improves his upside or not. Either way, he's somewhere in the mid-QB1 range this week.

Philadelphia Eagles second-year quarterback Jalen Hurts joined Kyler Murray, Lamar Jackson and Robert Griffin III as the only quarterbacks in history with 2,000-plus passing yards, 500-plus rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns in a team's first 10 games. Hurts went 16-for-23 for 178 yards, two touchdowns and an interception and carried the ball 14 times for 53 rushing yards in the Week 10 win over the Denver Broncos. Although it hasn't always been pretty for this Eagles offense, Hurts actually ranks as the No. 5 fantasy QB through 10 games with 2,159 passing yards, 13 touchdowns and five interceptions while also adding 547 rushing yards and five TDs on 97 rushing attempts. The 23-year-old hasn't done a whole lot with his arm and will face a tougher New Orleans Saints defense in Week 11, but his rushing ability has made him an every-week QB1 starter in fantasy.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has left much to be desired on the NFL field, but has been a top-12 fantasy option in every week except one this season. It seems like there's always at least one quarterback who is in danger of losing his starting job despite being an unquestioned fantasy QB1, and that's Hurts this season. He gets the Denver Broncos in Week 10, who just embarrassed the Cowboys offense in Week 9. It's a tough matchup for Hurts and the Eagles, but the running upside leaves him as a low-end QB1 regardless.

  • Jalen Hurts - Week 9 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has a wide range of possible outcomes in a Week 9 game against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers defense is easily exploitable in the ground game but tough in the passing game, so we're sure to see plenty of the Eagles running the ball in this one. Combine that with the struggles Hurts has had as a passer, and he may be playing a role more similar to a running back's in Week 9. Still, with his rushing talent and the fact that the Eagles could end up playing from behind, Hurts remains a fantasy QB1. He's absolutely thrived in garbage time, and there's a chance to be plenty of that this week. Hurts has the largest disparity between NFL and fantasy value so far this season.

  • Jalen Hurts - Week 8 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts hasn't been great on the NFL field, but he's been an excellent fantasy quarterback regardless. There are already loud whispers about backup Gardner Minshew potentially taking over under center for the Eagles, while Hurts is currently having a top-five fantasy season. Much of his production is coming on rushing touchdowns and garbage time passes. As long as he remains on the field, he's a valuable starting fantasy quarterback. Fantasy managers in season-long leagues should start considering other plans, but Hurts can stay in fantasy lineups as long as he's in the Eagles lineup.

  • Jalen Hurts Starting Job In Danger?

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is reportedly in danger of losing his starting job to Gardner Minshew, according to Bo Wulf. Wulf reported that he would be surprised if Minshew didn't start some games this season, considering the team has had their struggles offensively which has led to a 2-5 record. Surprisingly, Hurts has been able to produce consistent fantasy numbers, as he is the only quarterback that has scored at least 20 fantasy points in every single game this season. After Week 7, Hurts trails only Tom Brady in terms of total fantasy points, so fantasy managers can continue to slot him in as a QB1 until he finds his way onto the bench for the Eagles.

  • Jalen Hurts Has Another Good Fantasy Game In Week 7

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts had another solid fantasy performance in a Week 7 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. Hurts attempted 34 passes, completing 18 of them for 236 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground, he led the team in rushes and yards, running 13 times for 61 yards. It was another up-and-down performance on the field for Hurts, but he's the only quarterback in fantasy to score 20 points or more every week of the season (in standard scoring formats). Hurts has shown that he's probably not the long-term answer on the NFL field for the Eagles, but he's a valuable QB1 in all formats as long as he keeps running the ball.
