  • Jalen Hurts To See A Couple Series In Preseason Opener

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said the plan is for quarterback Jalen Hurts and the starters to play one or two offensive series in the preseason opener on Friday night against the New York Jets. The Eagles will be without left tackles Jason Kelce (elbow) and Jordan Mailata (concussion), but Hurts will play anyway. Second-year receiver DeVonta Smith (groin) is unlikely to play after missing his fifth straight training camp practice on Wednesday. There remain concerns about whether Hurts can improve as a passer, but the Eagles are expected to pass more with No. 1 wideout A.J. Brown now in town, and Hurts has top-five fantasy upside at the position after finishing the 2021 season as the QB10.

  • Jalen Hurts To Receive First Preseason Action

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts led his team to the playoffs last year and is expected to take a big leap in 2022. Hurts possesses exceptional athleticism, which makes him dangerous as a dual-threat quarterback, but he has received a lot of criticism regarding his skill set as a passer. Hurts received an exciting new weapon this offseason when the Eagles traded for wide receiver A.J. Brown. Hurts, along with the rest of the starters, is expected to play one or two series in Friday's preseason opener, according to head coach Nick Sirianni. Hurts is locked in as a top-12 option for fantasy football and has top-five upside because of his rushing ability, especially if he improves as a passer.

  • Eagles Confident In Jalen Hurts

The Philadelphia Eagles are very confident in quarterback Jalen Hurts despite reports this spring that he struggled in offseason practices. The Eagles believe he's progressing as he heads into his second season as the full-time starting QB. Hurts was healthy during organized team activities after having surgery on his left ankle in the offseason, so he doesn't have any physical limitations this summer. Philadelphia traded for receiver A.J. Brown on draft day as well, so Hurts will have added weaponry in the passing attack in his third NFL season. The Eagles will no doubt try to remain successful on the ground in 2022, but there's also a good chance they'll pass more. Because of his rushing ability to boot, Hurts is an easy top-10 fantasy QB.

  • Jalen Hurts Has Top-Five Potential

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts finished as a top-10 fantasy QB in 2021 despite an uneven performance, and it's not far-fetched to think that he can finish as a top-five fantasy QB in 2022 now that wide receiver A.J. Brown is on the team. Hurts thinks he'll benefit from having the same offensive scheme and play-caller for the first time since high school, and the Eagles should pass the ball more and run more plays than they did last year. The 23-year-old's rushing prowess gives him a high fantasy ceiling and a high floor, and his numbers should improve in his second full season as the starter as long as he can avoid injuries.
