  • Quez Watkins Leads The Eagles In Yards In Week 6

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Quez Watkins led the Eagles in receiving yards in a Week 6 loss to the Tampa Bay Bucs. Watkins was targeted five times, catching three passes for 44 yards. It was an atrocious night for the Eagles passing offense, as quarterback Jalen Hurts completed just 12 passes total. Watkins was open deep several times, but Hurts was simply unable to connect with his wide receiver. While Watkins does seem to have some upside in this offense, it seems unlikely that Hurts will be able to help him reach it. He'll remain a high-floor depth option, though.

  • Quez Watkins - Week 6 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Quez Watkins seems to have taken over the WR2 role on the Eagles offense. He's still not seeing a ton of targets, but he played 82% of the team's offensive snaps in Week 5 while a beleaguered Jalen Reagor only played 70%. While Reagor continues to fall, Watkins continues a steady rise. He's operated as the deep threat at times despite playing many snaps out of the slot. Watkins for now looks like a better bet in best ball formats, but could be developing some standard league value as well.

  • Quez Watkins Catches All Three Targets In Week 5

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Quez Watkins was targeted three times in a Week 5 win over the Carolina Panthers, making all three catches for a total of 48 yards. It was a bad day for the Eagles passing game, but Watkins finished third in catches and second in yards. He's developed a significant role on the Eagles offense, but it's not a big enough role to give him consistent fantasy value. He'll have some boom weeks when he's able to snag a long touchdown, but he's mostly a waiver wire guy in most leagues for now.

  • Quez Watkins Developing A Fantasy Role

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Quez Watkins (knee) was limited in practice on Wednesday but is expected to be able to play on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. Watkins has worked as a deep threat for quarterback Jalen Hurts and seems to have jumped past Jalen Reagor as the second wide receiver option on the Philly offense. Still, he's a low-volume receiver with a very low floor, making him an OK option in deep best ball leagues, but not one to consider at this point in standard formats.

  • Quez Watkins Catches Three More Passes In Week 4

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Quez Watkins caught three passes in Week 4 against the Kansas City Chiefs. He was targeted seven times, good for third on the team. His three catches were good for 33 yards. Watkins has clearly developed a role on the Eagles offense, but even though they look like they're going with a pass-first (sometime seemingly pass-only) approach, Watkins has too many pass catchers ahead of him to have a consistent fantasy role.

  • Quez Watkins Struggling To Stand Out

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Quez Watkins has been solid with his opportunities so far this season, but has struggled to stand out. In Week 3, he was on the field for 66% of the offensive snaps the Eagles played, but ended up being targeted just twice. He's drawn seven targets through the first three weeks and has caught all seven, gaining 186 yards. He's shown enough to perhaps work his way into a bigger role on the Eagles offense, but for now he's not a starting asset in any standard scoring leagues. An injury to someone ahead of him on the depth chart could change that, but fantasy managers in shallow leagues don't need to take Watkins off the waiver wire just yet. A Week 4 matchup against a struggling Chiefs secondary could end up pointing Watkins' season in a new direction.

  • Quez Watkins Makes Two Catches In Week 3

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Quez Watkins caught both of his targets in Week 3, gaining 4 yards. In a game in which the Eagles offense was just generally a mess, Watkins at least did the most with his limited opportunities. With the Chiefs on deck for Week 4, Watkins could have a bigger game, as should the rest of the Eagles pass catchers. He remains third on the depth chart behind DeVonta Smith and Jalen Reagor.

  • Quez Watkins Unlikely To Repeat His Huge Week 2

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Quez Watkins had an excellent Week 2 but is unlikely to keep that rolling into Week 3. Week 2 saw the Eagles slot receiver gain 117 yards on just two catches, one of which was a 91-yard play that he somehow did not score on. Watkins has seen only five targets through two games, and while he may have earned a spot on some best ball teams after Week 2, there's way too low of a floor without much of a realistic ceiling for him in standard lineup-format fantasy leagues. He should still be on the waiver wire in most leagues.

  • Quez Watkins The Fastest Ball-Carrier In Week 2

Philadelphia Eagles second-year wide receiver Quez Watkins was the fastest ball-carrier in Week 2 and through the first two weeks of the season when he reached 21.62 mph on his 91-yard reception in Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers. He finished the game with just two catches for 117 yards, but he's caught all five of his targets through two weeks for 140 yards for a league-high 28 yards per reception. Watkins' snap percentage (48.8) is behind that of both rookie DeVonta Smith and Jalen Reagor, but the sixth-rounder in 2020 has big-play ability because of his speed despite not making his NFL debut until Week 14 last year. He's one to watch in deeper leagues.

  • Quez Watkins Not A Strong Week 2 Starter

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Quez Watkins is not a great option in Week 2 fantasy starting lineups. Watkins clearly operated as the team's slot receiver in Week 1, seeing three targets and catching all three for 23 yards. There were some designed plays for him in the first quarter, but then he more or less disappeared for the remainder of the game. Part of that was game script, as the Eagles didn't need to throw the ball at all in the second half. Still, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, and Jalen Reagor will make up most of the Philly passing attack this season. Against a much tougher San Francisco 49ers defense, Watkins shapes up as a WR5/6 option at best.

  • Quez Watkins Catches Three Passes In Week 1

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Quez Watkins caught three passes in a Week 1 win against the Atlanta Falcons. Watkins was targeted three times, catching all of them for 23 yards. He worked as the slot receiver, with Greg Ward not appearing in the box score at all. Watkins was hyped all of training camp and preseason as a breakout candidate, and while he was certainly on the field more than he had been in any game last season, DeVonta Smith and Jalen Reagor worked way ahead of him as pass catchers in the Eagles offense. Watkins could have some occasional big games, but unless the Eagles start targeting their slot receiver more often, he won't put up consistent enough numbers to be worth starting in most formats.

  • Quez Watkins Likely To Start In The Slot In Week 1

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Quez Watkins is likely to start in the slot in Week 1 and should have a shot to stay in that role as long as he plays well. Watkins didn't do much in his rookie season last year, catching just seven passes for a total of 106 yards across six games. But he was one of the standouts in training camp and the preseason for the Eagles this year, and has apparently earned the starting slot receiver role over veteran Greg Ward. Watkins could develop some upside, but as of now he's just a wait-and-see kind of guy who can be taken as a depth piece at the end of most drafts.

  • Quez Watkins Working As First-Team Slot Receiver

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Quez Watkins has been working with the first-team offense in practice as the slot receiver. He's been one of the most impressive players on the Eagles offense throughout training camp and the preseason according to multiple Eagles beat writers. Greg Ward started in the slot last season and was the favorite to reprise that role this year, but the emergence of Watkins may cause a change of plans. Jalen Reagor and rookie DeVonta Smith are locked into starting roles on the outside, but Watkins could make some noise in his slot role if the Eagles offense clicks this season. He could be a late-draft steal in deeper formats.

  • Quez Watkins Standing Out At Eagles Camp

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Quez Watkins has been a standout performer in Eagles training camp so far this year. Eagles beat reporter Tim McManus wrote that Watkins, "stood out for a second straight day," after Tuesday's practice. With DeVonta Smith (knee) unable to practice, Travis Fulgham, Jalen Reagor, and Greg Ward saw most of the first team reps, but Watkins impressed with the few chances he received. The sixth-round pick from last year's draft out of Southern Miss had a forgettable rookie season, catching just seven passes for 106 yards and a touchdown in six games, but he did show some flashes of upside on the field last season as well. Watkins is buried on the Eagles depth chart, but could be a decent dart throw in very deep leagues and best ball formats.
