  • Travis Homer Placed On Injured Reserve

Seattle Seahawks running back Travis Homer (ribs) was placed on injured reserve. The fourth-year back suffered the rib injury last week in Seattle's 27-23 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. He hasn't played much of a role in the backfield, scoring only 7.1 half-point PPR fantasy points this season. However, the loss of Homer opens up more snaps and opportunities for Rashaad Penny and Kenneth Walker III. Over the first two weeks of the year, Homer played 39.4% of the snaps. With him out for at least the next four games, Penny and Walker should earn most of those snaps.

  • Travis Homer Suffers Bruised Ribs In Week 3

Seattle Seahawks running back Travis Homer (ribs) sustained an injury early in the team's Week 3 loss to the Atlanta Falcons and did not return. Head coach Pete Carroll stated after the game that Homer has bruised ribs. The fourth-year pro only handled four carries so far this season, but has been utilized for pass protection and did get involved as a receiving option in Week 2. In Homer's absence, DeeJay Dallas saw three carries and two targets and should see the field on passing downs going forward if Homer misses time.

  • Travis Homer Questionable To Return In Week 3

Seattle Seahawks running back Travis Homer (ribs) is questionable to return to Sunday's meeting against the Atlanta Falcons. Homer only had one carry for seven yards before going down, with Rashaad Penny currently outpacing the backfield. If he doesn't make it back in Week 3, Kenneth Walker III, who has only one carry for negative yardage, may be even more involved.

  • Travis Homer Has Been Explosive

With Seattle Seahawks rookie running back Kenneth Walker III (hernia) sidelined, Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas have run the ball well in training camp. Homer has been particularly explosive, which may mean a running-back-by-committee situation for the Seahawks to begin the regular season. Homer has proven more effective as a runner and pass-blocker than Dallas, so he should get the nod as Rashaad Penny's primary backup to begin the year if Walker isn't ready. Although it's not what Penny's fantasy managers want to hear, a committee approach could be the wise move given Penny's extensive injury history. Penny is still the most attractive fantasy RB in Seattle's backfield, but his inability to stay healthy makes him more of an RB3/flex in upcoming fantasy drafts.

  • Travis Homer Rushes For 44 Yards On Thursday

Seattle Seahawks running back Travis Homer rushed five times for 44 yards during Thursday's loss to the Chicago Bears. Homer broke off a big run early in the game and finished the day with 8.8 yards per carry. He remains in competition with DeeJay Dallas for the No. 3 role behind Kenneth Walker and Rashaad Penny, but it's hard to imagine a scenario in which Homer doesn't win a roster spot. If injuries take their toll on Seattle's backfield once again this coming season, Homer could find himself thrust into action from time to time.

  • Travis Homer Involved On All Three Downs In Preseason Opener

Seattle Seahawks running backTravis Homer rushed for 41 yards on four attempts while catching two passes for 33 yards in Saturday's 32-25 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 24-year-old has familiarity with the system and coaching staff. Homer was mainly featured in the receiving game when thrust into action but received work on all three downs in Saturday's preseason opener. Homer was second on the Seahawks with 41 rushing yards behind only DeeJay Dallas (73), and most of his yardage came on a 16-yard run. Having already earned the trust of head coach Pete Carroll, it's possible Homer could see more work than anticipated to open the season, especially if Rashaad Penny(groin) is still sidelined. This would cap the upside for Penny and rookieKenneth Walker III.

  • Kenneth Walker III Unable To Shine In Preseason Debut

Seattle Seahawks rookie running back Kenneth Walker III rushed the ball five times for 19 yards, adding one reception for 11 yards in Saturday's 32-25 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is currently the team's starter, while Rashaad Penny (groin) is sidelined. Walker made his debut in Saturday's preseason opener against the Steelers, delivering a mostly average performance, with only seven yards coming after contact. The rookie running back was outperformed by teammates DeeJay Dallas, who totaled 73 rushing yards, and Travis Homer, who totaled 41 rushing yards, both of whom are a threat until Walker has established himself. Seattle will lean on its rushing attack, so he'll have plenty of opportunities, but it would provide a boost in confidence if he can produce a more standout performance in their next game against the Chicago Bears.
