  • Matt Gay A Risky Streaming Option In Week 12

Los Angeles Rams kicker Matt Gay is a risky option in Week 12 who is best avoided when the Rams take on the Kansas City Chiefs. Top LA offensive weapon Cooper Kupp was already on the injured reserve. Now QB Matthew Stafford has been declared out, and Bryce Perkins will start for the first time in his career. While Perkins flashed his big play ability in preseason, he has only attempted 11 passes in his career. He might surprise and jump start the Rams offense. But the possibility that he struggles is also very likely. Gay has no floor in Week 12.

  • Matt Gay Kicks 58-Yard Field Goal

Los Angeles Rams kicker Matt Gay went 2-for-2 on field goals and 2-for-2 on extra points in the Rams' 20-27 loss to the New Orleans Saints. The 28-year-old nailed a 58-yard field goal at the end of the fourth quarter. In leagues that award two bonus points for field goals over 50 yards, Gay finishes with 10 points.

  • Matt Gay Has Plus Matchup In Week 11

Los Angeles Rams kicker Matt Gay faces the New Orleans Saints in Week 11. The Saints are allowing eighth-most points per game to opposing teams and the third-most points to opposing kickers. The Saints' red zone defense is fifth-best in the league, leading to many field goal attempts for opposing kickers. While the Saints are a plus matchup for kickers, the Rams' own offensive situation could be a drag on Gay. The loss of WR Cooper Kupp means the Rams may struggle to even get into the red zone in the first place.

  • Matt Gay Perfect On Kicks In Loss

Kicker Matt Gay connected on his lone field-goal attempt, a 36-yarder, in the Los Angeles Rams' 27-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Gay also made both of his extra-point attempts, rounding out a perfect kicking day. He did not put up tremendous fantasy numbers, but he was by no means a disappointment with backup quarterback John Wolford under center in place of the injured Matthew Stafford (concussion).

  • Matt Gay Kicks Two Field Goals

Los Angeles Rams kicker Matt Gay kicked two field goals and one extra point in the Rams' 13-16 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Gay made every kick he attempted. The Rams offense continues to struggle to move the ball. They have scored just three touchdowns in the past two games, so Gay does not have many chances to kick PATs. The Rams' drives stalling out did give him two field goal attempts. He will finish Week 9 on the edge of the top 12 kickers.

  • Matt Gay Makes Two PATs

Los Angeles Rams kicker Matt Gay made two extra points in the Rams' 14-31 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Gay has not kicked more than three extra points in a game since Week 2 and has not made multiple field goals since Week 4. He remains not a quality streaming option going forward.

  • Matt Gay Kicks Three PATs And A FG In Win

Los Angeles Rams kicker Matt Gay kicked one field goal and three extra points and did not miss a kick in the Rams' 24-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers. He is tied for the spot of K12 at the end of Sunday. The Rams offense moved the ball more than usual against a 1-5 Panthers team that was with a third-string quarterback and an interim head coach in his first game. They likely will not repeat this kind of performance against tougher opponentslike the 49ers, whom the Rams play after their Week 7 byeand Gay will not have as many kicking opportunities.

  • Matt Gay A Risky Streaming Option

Los Angeles Rams kicker Matt Gay has a home game against the flailing Carolina Panthers in Week 6. Gay has yet to score double-digit points this season while the Rams have underwhelmed on offense. This week's matchup against the Panthers, a team with an average defense and a terrible offense, may present a better game script for a kicker than the Rams' past two games against the 49ers and the Cowboys. Gay deserves more consideration as a possible streaming option this week than usual, but he still probably will not finish amongst the top twelve kickers.

  • Matt Gay Risky Streaming Option In Week 5

Los Angeles Rams kicker Matt is seven-for-seven on field goals this season. In Week 5, he faces a Cowboys team is allowing the third-fewest points per game in 2022. That means he probably won't get many chances to kick extra points this week, and his prospects for kicking field goals are unpredictable. He did kick three field goals last week in a game against the equally tough 49ers defense in which the Rams scored no touchdowns, but it's just as likely that the Rams struggle to even move the ball into field goal range. Gay is a risky streaming option in Week 5.

  • Matt Gay Poor Streaming Option Week 4

Los Angeles Rams kicker Matt Gay faces the San Francisco 49ers in Week 4. The 49ers have allowed an average of 1.7 kicking points per game, the fewest in the league. Gay is four-out-of-four on field goals and seven-out-of-seven on extra points this season, and he ranks as the K17. This matchup between two top defenses has one of the lowest over/unders of the week, so kickers aren't expected to get many chances to score points. Gay is a suboptimal streamer.

  • Matt Gay Makes Two Field Goals

Los Angeles Rams kicker Matt Gay made both of his field goal attempts in the Rams' 20-12 victory over the Arizona Cardinals Week 3. He added two extra points for eight total points. His 40-yard field goal at the beginning of the second quarter put the Rams up 13-0, and LA never looked back. Gay and the Rams have another divisional rival coming up next week when they travel to San Francisco to play the 49ers.

  • Matt Gay Makes Four Extra Points And One FG

Los Angeles Rams kicker Matt Gay made his only field goal attempted and all four extra points in the Rams' 31-27 Week 2 win over the Atlanta Falcons. Gay is now two-of-two on the year for field goals and five-of-five on extra points. The Rams were expected to be a strong offense going into the season, and in just two games, they have done approximately how one would expect. They did poorly against a strong defense and did pretty well against a weak defense. If they continue to move the ball and score touchdowns, Gay should continue to be a low-end streaming option at kicker.

  • Matt Gay Solid Streaming Option Week 2

Los Angeles Rams kicker Matt Gay is a solid streaming option in his Week 2 home matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons allowed the most touchdowns per game in 2021 but only the 25th-most field goals. In sum, they allowed the 15th-most points to opposing kickers. There is a lot of random variability when it comes to field goals, but one reason for the relative lack of FGs by Falcons opponents is that the Falcons were one of the worst defenses in the red zone, allowing touchdowns 63.8% of the time. With the Rams strong offense and the Falcons weak defense, Gay has a good chance to at least kick some extra-points and maybe a FG or two.

  • Matt Gay Hits Only FG And XPt Attempts Of Game

Los Angeles Rams went 1-for-1 on field goal attempts and 1-for-1 on extra points in the Rams 31-10 loss opening game loss to the Buffalo Bills. The 28-year-old nailed a field goal from 57 yards out towards the end of the first half. He did everything that was asked of him. The Rams offense just did not move the ball much. The Bills might be the toughest defense the Rams face all season. Add to that the facts that the Rams were missing No. 3 WR Van Jefferson, No. 2 WR Allen Robinson II didn't appear to be in sync with QB Matthew Stafford in his first game as a Ram, and Sean McVay hasn't quite figured out the running back situation, and it is plausible to chalk up this stinker as a Week 1 dud. The Rams kicker should get more scoring chances in next Sunday's late afternoon-game against a less-talented Falcons team.
