  • Darius Slayton, Eric Gray Active For Week 12

    Headshot for Darius Slayton

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton (neck) and running back Eric Gray (ankle) are active for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots. The big story here is that Slayton, who had been listed as doubtful, made significant progress over the last few days and is now healthy enough to play. He's the first player since Week 8 of the 2020 season to suit up despite being listed as questionable. Fantasy managers should view him as a low-end fantasy WR3 in a favorable matchup. Gray, meanwhile, will operate as the Giants' No. 3 running back after being activated from injured reserve on Saturday. He could log a few snaps but remains off the fantasy radar.

  • Darius Slayton Expected To Be Doubtful Against Patriots

    Headshot for Darius Slayton

New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll said that wide receiver Darius Slayton (neck) will not practice on Friday and is expected to be listed as doubtful to play in Week 12 this Sunday against the New England Patriots. Offensive lineman Evan Neal (ankle) has been ruled out, while defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence (hamstring) is also expected to be doubtful. It would be Lawrence's first game missed due to injury in his five-year career. Slayton's injury comes at a bad time after he just has his best game of the season in the Week 11 win over the Washington Commanders, when he had four catches for a season-high 82 yards and his first touchdown of the year. With Slayton likely out on Sunday, Sterling Shepard, Isaiah Hodgins and rookie Jalin Hyatt could see more targets, albeit in a sluggish offense led by undrafted rookie quarterback Tommy Devito.

  • Darius Slayton, Sterling Shepard Practice On Thursday

    Headshot for Sterling Shepard

New York Giants wide receivers Darius Slayton (neck) and Sterling Shepard (back) both practiced on Thursday. Slayton practiced in a limited capacity while Shepard was a full participant. Slayton caught four passes for 82 yards and one touchdown last week, putting him on the fantasy radar as a WR4. Shepard, on the other hand, lacks fantasy appealing heading into the Giants' Week 12 clash with the Patriots.

  • Darius Slayton Won't Practice Wednesday

    Headshot for Darius Slayton

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton (neck), who is dealing with a neck injury and not an arm ailment, will not practice on Wednesday. Slayton injured his neck late in the first half of the Week 11 win over the Washington Commanders and was unable to return in the second half. Before the injury, he had four catches on five targets for a season-high 82 yards and his first touchdown of the year. Unfortunately, the injury appears to be serious enough to potentially keep him sidelined for the Week 12 contest against the New England Patriots. Slayton has two more days to get back on the practice field and prove he's ready to go. If he's unable to do that, it could open up more opportunities for Sterling Shepard, Isaiah Hodgins and rookie Jalin Hyatt in the passing game.

  • Darius Slayton Scores Long Touchdown In Week 11, Leaves Game With Injury

    Headshot for Darius Slayton

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton (arm) got loose for a 40-yard touchdown, his first of the season, to help propel the Giants past the Washington Commanders in Week 11. However, he departed the game after landing hard while attempting to make a catch. He was later ruled out with that injury, and the team will provide more details on the ailment later in the week. Before leaving the game, the veteran led the team in receiving with 82 yards on four catches. Undrafted rookie quarterback Tommy Devito had the best game of his young career, which ignited the passing game for the first time this season. It helped that New York was facing one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL. The matchup gets a little tougher next week when the Giants host the New England Patriots.

  • Darius Slayton Scores Long Touchdown In Week 11

    Headshot for Darius Slayton

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton got loose for a 40-yard touchdown, his first of the season, to help propel the Giants past the Washington Commanders in Week 11. Once again, the veteran led the team in receiving with 82 yards on four catches. Undrafted rookie quarterback Tommy Devito had the best game of his young career, which ignited the passing game for the first time this season. It helped that New York was facing one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL. The matchup gets a little tougher next week when the Giants host the New England Patriots. Despite the solid stat line, there won't be a rush to waiver wires to add Slayton.

  • Darius Slayton Injures Arm Sunday, Questionable To Return

    Headshot for Darius Slayton

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton (arm) is questionable to return in Week 11 versus the Washington Commanders. He had been playing well at the time of his departure, hauling in four of five targets for 82 yards and one touchdown. Saquon Barkley, Daniel Bellinger, Wan'Dale Robinson, and Jalin Hyatt should handle more targets until Slayton is able to return.

  • Darius Slayton Continues To Deliver Lackluster Production

    Headshot for Darius Slayton

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton continues to play the majority of the wide receiver snaps as the G-Men head into their Week 11 matchup against the Washington Commanders. Unfortunately, it has coincided with very little production. The veteran's season-high marks sit at four catches and 69 yards. Against Washington in Week 7, he logged just one catch for 22 yards. Despite the great matchup against a bad Washington secondary, Slayton and the rest of the New York pass catchers can't be counted upon in any fantasy football format. Undrafted rookie quarterback Tommy Devito has yet to show he can lead an offense to any sort of success. Slayton can remain on waiver wires this week, and likely for the rest of the season.

  • Darius Slayton Looks To Lead Giants In Receiving Again

    Headshot for Darius Slayton

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton continues to dominate snap counts as an outside wide receiver, but his production doesn't excite fantasy football managers. Last week, Slayton led all New York receivers with 59 yards. That was his third-best mark of the season. Undrafted rookie quarterback Tommy Devito will be throwing passes once again, meaning there aren't any receivers worth trusting from the Giants' offense. Slayton can remain on waiver wires across all formats heading into Week 10. It would be a surprise for him to do enough to warrant roster consideration in future weeks.

  • Darius Slayton Leads New York In Receiving Yards In Week 9

    Headshot for Darius Slayton

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton gathered seven targets, catching four of them for 59 yards, in the team's 30-6 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. His receiving total led all Giants on the afternoon. Quarterback Daniel Jones (knee) suffered a potentially season-ending knee injury at the end of the first quarter. Undrafted rookie Tommy Devito then led the offense to unfavorable results. Slayton wasn't on most fantasy rosters right now anyway but he, and the rest of the New York passing game, will be impossible to trust with DeVito under center. The Giants travel to Dallas to take on the Cowboys in Week 10.

  • Darius Slayton A Wide Receiver To Avoid In Week 8

    Headshot for Darius Slayton

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton is a mainstay in the Giants' offense, lining up at wideout for over 80 percent of snaps in five out of seven games. The production, however, leaves a lot to be desired. In a plus matchup against Washington in Week 7, the veteran earned just two targets, catching one for 22 yards. Now, he'll be matched up against two of the best coverage cornerbacks in football, Sauce Gardner and D.J. Reed. There's no sneaky upside for Slayton this week. He's best left on waiver wires across all fantasy football formats.

Not long after Gunner Olszewski was released, he has found a new opportunity. The veteran receiver and returner has agreed to a deal with the Giants, reports Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. • Darius Slayton Facing Beatable Secondary In Week 7

    Headshot for Darius Slayton

Fresh off of a game where he led New York in receiving, Giants wideout Darius Slayton draws a beatable Commanders' secondary in Week 7. They allow the second-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. Slayton will draw at least a few downfield targets against Washington but he remains a player best left on the waiver wire. The Giants haven't scored an offensive touchdown in three weeks and Slayton doesn't receive enough targets to make up for the lack of scoring. On the season, Slayton is second on the team in receiving yards behind tight end Darren Waller. His 17 catches have gone for 236 yards.

  • Darius Slayton Leads New York In Receiving Yards

    Headshot for Darius Slayton

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton caught four passes for 69 yards in the team's 14-9 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football. Both marks were season-high totals for the fifth-year wideout. A pair of completions for 27 and 31 yards boosted his final stat line. Tyrod Taylor efficiently led the Giants' offense in place of Daniel Jones (neck) but failed to lead a touchdown drive. It's the third straight game that the G-Men have failed to find the end zone on offense. Despite the positive game, Slayton can remain on waiver wires across all formats.

  • Darius Slayton Projects To Be A Non-Factor In Week 6

    Headshot for Darius Slayton

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton remains second on the team in targets for the 2023 season but hasn't put together one fantasy-worthy game so far. His catch rate sits at just 54 percent, resulting in 13 receptions for 167 yards through five games. There aren't any wide receivers on the Giants producing for fantasy managers and the situation may be getting worse. Tyrod Taylor will start in place of quarterback Daniel Jones (neck). The offensive line is dealing with several key injuries and both Darren Waller (groin) and Saquon Barkley (ankle) are questionable to play. Keep Slayton on the waiver wire in all fantasy football formats.

  • Darius Slayton Consistently On The Field, Not Catching Many Passes

    Headshot for Darius Slayton

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton is routinely on the field, playing over 80% of the snaps in Weeks 2 through 4. However, the 26-year-old has only gathered 11 catches through four games and remains off of fantasy football radars. The Giants' Week 5 opponent, the Miami Dolphins, allows the 10th most fantasy points to wide receivers on the season. New York will be forced to throw to keep up with the explosive Miami offense. It is impossible to predict which receiver, if any, on the Giants will pick up the offensive slack. If you're desperate, check your waiver wire for Wan'Dale Robinson and roll with him over Slayton in Week 5.

  • Darius Slayton Catches Three Passes In Comeback Win

    Headshot for Darius Slayton

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton caught three of his six targets for 62 yards in the team's 31-28 victory over Arizona. The 26-year-old was blanked in the first half as the Giants struggled to move the football. Down 20 at the half, Daniel Jones came out slinging and Slayton played his part in the comeback. The former fifth-round pick plays a lot of snaps for New York but doesn't typically give managers a fantasy-worthy performance. He should be avoided in Week 3 when the Giants travel to San Francisco for Thursday Night Football.

  • Darius Slayton Fails To Deliver Production On Five Targets

    Headshot for Darius Slayton

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton tied for the team league in targets (five) on Sunday but only logged three catches for 15 yards. The entire Giants' offense did not do anything of note in their 40-0 blowout loss to Dallas. Quarterback Daniel Jones completed 15 passes in the whole game and only five of those went to wide receivers. Slayton will continue to start as an outside receiver for New York in Week 2 but does not need to be rostered in standard-sized leagues until his production coincides with the amount of snaps he's playing.

  • Darius Slayton A Likely Starter, Unlikely To Be On Fantasy Radars

    Headshot for Darius Slayton

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton is atop the depth chart at one of the receiver positions for New York but there are only so many pass attempts to go around. In sixteen games in 2022, Slayton grabbed 46 passes for 724 yards and just two touchdowns. Eleven of his 16 games were starts. Expect a similar output from the ex-Auburn Tiger in the new year; a lot of starts but little production. He does not need to be rostered in redraft leagues heading into his Week 1 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
