  • Drew Lock Outperforms Geno Smith Over The Weekend

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith took all of the first-team repetitions during Sunday's walk-through practice, while Drew Lock worked exclusively with the No. 2 offense as the QB competition appeared to remain status quo. Smith has gotten virtually all of the first-team reps in the first week and a half of training camp, but that could start to change based on Lock's strong showing in Saturday's mock game. Lock was clearly the better QB, while Smith underwhelmed while leading the first-team offense against backups. The Seattle coaching staff hasn't made any judgments on the two QBs since the weekend, but there's a chance that Lock could have his opening to take the starting QB job and run with it for the rest of camp and the preseason. Stay tuned.

  • Geno Smith still leading Seahawks' QB battle, but is Drew Lock gaining ground?

The Seattle staff has given the veteran the benefit of the doubt, but the younger Lock might be making a move.

  • Drew Lock Saw Snaps With First-Team Offense

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Drew Lock is expected to be the backup to Geno Smith to begin the season. However, the organization wants to give both players an opportunity to show what they can do. On Friday, Lock took first-team snaps on offense, which is a bit surprising. Smith has received a bulk of the work early in camp, but they also want to see what they have in Lock. The former second round pick has failed to make much of an impact through his first three seasons. There's a chance he does receive starts in Seattle, but Smith seems like the more reliable option between the two players.

  • Geno Smith Still Ahead Of Drew Lock In QB Competition

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith is still ahead of Drew Lock in the team's quarterback competition after the Seahawks wrapped up mandatory minicamp this week. "Geno's still ahead, you can tell that, but it's not going to be too much for Drew to be caught up," head coach Pete Carroll said. "By the time we get through camp he'll be there. He's really bright." Smith is basically leading this competition because he's been in Seattle's system for the last three years as Russell Wilson's backup. The real battle will begin next month at training camp, where Lock could easily win the job with a better performance. The Seahawks have an excellent receiver duo in DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, but neither Smith nor Lock should have fantasy managers excited as their QB2, especially since the winner of the competition will likely have a short leash.

  • Latest On Seahawks' QB Situation

Seattle made headlines in early March when they agreed to trade Russell Wilson to the Broncos in exchange for multiple draft picks, quarterback Drew Lock, defensive lineman Shelby Harris, and tight end Noah Fant. After losing their starter of the last ten years, the Seahawks are going through the motions now of determining who will […]

  • Drew Lock Behind In Competition For Starting Gig

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Drew Lock currently trails Geno Smith in the race for the starting job. Lock, who the Broncos traded for Russell Wilson back in March, continues to receive plenty of praise from head coach Pete Carroll. However, given Smith's familiarity with the offense, it appears it's currently his job to lose. Nonetheless, both men may be under center at some point during the year. Still, regardless of who is the No. 1 option on the depth chart come September, each signal-caller will have an uphill climb before convincing fantasy managers they're worthy of a roster spot.
