  • Dawson Knox Remains Out On Thursday

    Headshot for Dawson Knox

Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox (back) was unable to suit up for practice on Thursday. He missed each of the first two practice sessions this week due to a lingering back issue. That being said, Knox is at risk of missing the Week 3 matchup versus the Washington Commanders. His absence could spell a big game for rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid. Through two games, Kincaid has nine receptions for 69 yards while running over 50 percent of the routes. Kincaid could be a fringe TE1 if Knox is unable to play this weekend.

  • Dawson Knox Dealing With Back Issue

    Headshot for Dawson Knox

Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox (back) did not practice on Wednesday with a back issue. The injury didn't seem to limit Knox in Week 2 against the Las Vegas Raiders, as he played 71% of the team snaps. He also pulled down three catches for 10 yards and caught a touchdown in the contest. It's only Wednesday, so there's no reason to panic yet on Knox's availability for Sunday. But his practice status is something to monitor over the next two days. If he can't go, tight end Quintin Morris would step up in his place.

  • Dawson Knox Returns To The Practice Field

    Headshot for Dawson Knox

Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox (finger) returned to the practice field Tuesday. The injury caused him to miss last weekend's preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He should be on track to suit up on Monday Night Football in Week 1. The incumbent starter is coming off a productive year with 48 catches for 517 yards and six touchdowns but the drafting of rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid muddies his future. He's now the fourth or fifth option in the passing game and does not need to be selected in standard-sized fantasy football leagues.

  • Dawson Knox Day-To-Day

    Headshot for Dawson Knox

Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox (finger) didn't suit up for Saturday's preseason meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers. According to Matt Parrino of Syracuse.com, the veteran is nursing a finger injury and is day-to-day, meaning this shouldn't be anything that extends into the season. Knox is coming off a productive year, finishing the 2022-23 campaign with 48 catches for 517 yards and six touchdowns. Although Buffalo drafted Dalton Kincaid in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Knox's rapport with Josh Allen over the years should keep him relevant in all deeper fantasy formats.

  • Dawson Knox, Dalton Kincaid To See The Field Together Often

    Headshot for Dawson Knox

Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane said on the Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday that the team will use more two-tight end sets in 2023. "We're gonna have Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox on the field at the same time," Beane said. "Kincaid is at his best when he's flexed out in that receiver role." Kincaid was taken with the 25th overall pick in this year's NFL draft and is a natural pass-catcher. The 23-year-old landed in the perfect situation in Buffalo as well, but the presence of Knox should have fantasy managers tempering expectations for Kincaid in his first NFL campaign. Kincaid has the skills to become a high-end TE1 in time, but keep in mind that Buffalo typically slow plays their rookies. At best, you should be targeting Kincaid as a TE2 with upside for more in his rookie season.
