Cam Akers, Darrell Henderson Jr. Dealing With Minor Injuries
Los Angeles Rams running backs Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson Jr. are both dealing with soft-tissue injuries, according to head coach Sean McVay. Both backs are currently being held out of practice. Normally, these types of injuries don't sideline a player for long periods of time. However, both Akers and Henderson might drop a bit on draft boards because of these injuries, but probably only if they linger. The organization hasn't given a timetable for them to return, but there is still plenty of time before the regular season begins. Fantasy managers shouldn't be too concerned, but keep an eye out for more updates on them going forward.

Cam Akers, Darrell Henderson Jr. Splitting Reps Evenly
Los Angeles Rams running backs Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson Jr., the team's two most veteran running backs, have been splitting first-team snaps pretty evenly so far in training camp. So far, both of them look explosive and healthy, and they're are also clearly going to be a factor in the passing game. "I look at it as we've got two starting backs," head coach Sean McVay said. "Those guys are great complements (to) one another, but I see them as both starting-caliber players." Henderson has suffered a variety of injuries the last few years, and Akers returned late last year from an Achilles tear. Akers looks to have bulked up in a positive way, which should make him a more dangerous runner. Akers should be the primary back, but at his current ADP as an RB2, he'll be a bit risky if Henderson stays healthy and steals valuable touches from him.

Kyren Williams A Threat To Darrell Henderson Jr.
The Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue gets the sense that the Los Angeles Rams hope that rookie fifth-round running back Kyren Williams (foot) eventually takes over the Darrell Henderson Jr. role in the offense. Henderson is in a contract season and has dealt with multiple injuries in the last few seasons. Williams is recovering from a foot injury he suffered in the spring, but he should be back by the middle phase of training camp. Jake Funk looks to be in better shape in his second season and will play a larger role on special teams. Of course, Cam Akers, who returned last postseason from an Achilles tear, will be LA's lead back, but Williams could carve out a nice change-of-pace role in his rookie season.

Rams Dealing With RB Injuries
The Rams are dealing with some injuries to their running backs corps. Head coach Sean McVay told reporters that running back Kyren Williams broke his foot and had surgery (via Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic on Twitter). Fortunately, it sounds like Williams will only miss the first few sessions of training camp, but it’s still […]
Jun 7 · Pro Football Rumors Rams Cam Akers Raymond Calais Jake Funk Darrell Henderson Xavier Jones Kyren WilliamsDarrell Henderson Jr. Dealing With Soft-Tissue Injury
Los Angeles Rams running back Darrell Henderson Jr. hasn't been on the field at practices with what head coach Sean McVay called a soft-tissue injury. Rookie running back Kyren Williams is also missing mandatory minicamp due to a broken foot. With both Henderson and Williams dealing with injuries, Jake Funk should get more repetitions at minicamp behind Cam Akers. Henderson has plenty of time to heal up for training camp in late July, and he should serve as the primary complement to Akers in LA's backfield this year. In 12 games for the Rams in 2021, Henderson had a career-high 149 carries for 688 yards and five touchdowns, and he also added 29 receptions for 176 yards and three more scores. He'll be a valuable handcuff for those that roster Akers.

Cam Akers, Darrell Henderson Not Present At Workouts
Los Angeles Rams running backs Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson were not present at organized team activities this week. Henderson is dealing with an undisclosed soft-tissue injury, and it's not specified whether Akers is rehabbing an injury, but the Rams are being careful with players who are returning from significant injuries last year. As a result, Jake Funk and fifth-rounder Kyren Williams took the bulk of the RB snaps at workouts. Both Akers and Henderson missed time due to injuries in 2021, so it shouldn't be a huge surprise that they weren't on the field this week. When both are healthy, Henderson should serve as a complement to Akers, who figures to be the lead back.
