  • Gus Edwards Sees 12 Carries In Wild-Card Loss

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards saw 12 carries -- one fewer than J.K. Dobbins -- and produced 39 yards in the 24-17 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday night in the wild-card game. He added one catch on one target for a 13-yard pickup. Dobbins was much more effective, going over 100 scrimmage yards with a receiving touchdown. The 27-year-old Edwards is heading into the final year of his deal in 2023 and should be better next season another year removed from a major knee injury that kept him out for the entire 2021 season. He played in a career-low nine games in 2022, carrying the ball 87 times for 433 yards and three touchdowns. Edwards did not catch a pass on just two targets in the regular season.

  • Gus Edwards Clears Concussion Protocol

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards has cleared the concussion protocol, so he will play in Sunday night's wild-card game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Edwards has rushed 87 times for 433 yards and three touchdowns this season in nine games played but has not caught a pass on two total targets. The Bengals have allowed the sixth-fewest fantasy points to running backs this season, so Edwards' role in a split backfield with J.K. Dobbins doesn't present much upside in this spot. Edwards will likely have to score multiple touchdowns to be a DFS-viable option, and it's tough to see Baltimore's offense performing well with backup quarterback Tyler Huntley likely under center once again.

  • Gus Edwards Returns To Practice Thursday

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards (concussion) returned to practice on Thursday and was wearing a non-contact jersey and foam protection on his helmet after suffering a concussion in the Week 18 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. It's progress for Edwards, but his status remains unclear for the wild-card game on Sunday night against the Bengals. J.K. Dobbins was rested in the regular season finale, but he will return for wild-card weekend to serve as the lead back. However, with quarterback Lamar Jackson (knee) unlikely to play and with backup Tyler Huntley (shoulder, wrist) questionable, fantasy managers should be fading all of the team's offensive skill players for a second straight matchup against their division rivals. If Edwards doesn't clear the league's concussion protocol, Kenyan Drake will take on a bigger role behind Dobbins.

  • No Practice For Gus Edwards Wednesday

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards (concussion) was not seen at practice on Wednesday. The 27-year-old's status for wild-card weekend against the Cincinnati Bengals is up in the air after he suffered a concussion in the Week 18 regular season finale last Sunday against these same Bengals. Edwards will need to pass through the league's concussion protocols and get back on the practice field in the next two days to have a shot at suiting up. Coming off a major knee injury that kept him out all of 2021, Edwards saw 87 carries for 433 yards and three touchdowns in nine games this year. J.K. Dobbins will be Baltimore's primary back either way this Sunday, but if Edwards is ruled out, Kenyan Drake will take on a bigger change-of-pace role.

  • Gus Edwards Won't Return In Week 18

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards (head) has been ruled out for the remainder of Week 18 against the Cincinnati Bengals. He finishes the day with four rushes for 16 yards. The Ravens made J.K. Dobbins a healthy scratch on Sunday, so losing Edwards leaves the team with just Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill out of the backfield.

  • Gus Edwards Should Be Off Of The Fantasy Radar In Week 18

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards hasn't broken 10 fantasy points since Week 7 and that remains the only time he's done so this season. On top of that, he's been seeing less than 50 percent of the offensive snaps since Week 12 and saw a season-low 17 percent in their last game against the Steelers. Against a higher-powered offense like the Bengals, the Ravens will likely be forced to pass early on in Week 18. Edwards would be better left on the waiver wire let alone any team's bench in the final week of the season.

  • Ravens Not Happy About Gus Edwards' Snap Count

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh didn't like the fact that running back Gus Edwards only played nine offensive snaps in the Week 17 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night after going for 99 yards in Week 16 against the Atlanta Falcons. Edwards carried the ball only three times for two yards, while J.K. Dobbins played 26 snaps and carried the ball 17 times for 93 rushing yards. "I wasn't happy about that, in all honesty," Harbaugh said. "Gus should have played more -; there's no doubt about it. That was something that We should have had him out there more, and [there's] really no excuse for that." If the Ravens end up resting some players in Week 18 against the Cincinnati Bengals, Edwards could see a sizeable role as the team's lead back as they look to get him more work before the playoffs.

  • Gus Edwards Non-Existent In Week 17 Loss

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards only saw three carries which he turned into two yards during the team's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 27-year-old is already a non-factor in the passing game as he's only seen two targets all season, so the lack of running opportunities hits even harder. His yards per carry are still on par with his previous seasons, but with J.K. Dobbins playing well, he's just seeing fewer opportunities. If the Ravens decide to rest some starters in Week 18, Edwards might carry a little more value.

  • Gus Edwards A Risky Flex Option In Week 17

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards shares a lot of similarities with J.K. Dobbins when it comes to fantasy football. They're in the same timeshare in the backfield, and they both contribute to an abysmal offense, but Edwards seems to get less work than Dobbins most of the time. That means Dobbins is usually the better play, but in terms of total points, they're only a few spots away from each other. Edwards probably isn't the running back that fantasy managers want to put their championship hopes into.

  • J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards Aren't On Snap Counts

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said on Wednesday that there are no restrictions on running backs J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards. Both players returned from major knee injuries in 2022, and Dobbins is heading into his fourth game since returning from a midseason clean-up surgery on his knee. He had 120 yards on 15 carries in his first game back but hasn't seen a fourth-quarter carry in either the last two games. Neither Dobbins nor Edwards have had more than 16 carries in a game, but Harbaugh insists neither is in a snap count. Dobbins had one more carry than Edwards last week, with Edwards outgaining him 99-59 on the ground. The 24-year-old Dobbins admits he's not yet at top-end speed, which likely means the Ravens will continue to lean on a more even split between he and Edwards in the backfield.

  • Gus Edwards Leads The Team On The Ground In Win

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards posted 99 yards on 11 carries in Week 16 but was unable to find the endzone. The 27-year-old didn't see any targets in the passing game and saw one less carry than his backfield mate, J.K. Dobbins, but he outgained him by 40 yards. Edwards averaged a huge 9.0 yards per carry. He was the main driving force on multiple drives but still hasn't posted a touchdown since Week 12. The run game will likely be depended on again in Week 17, so Edwards could be a flex play against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

  • Gus Edwards Looks To Increase His Snap Share Again

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards saw a sharp decline in his snap percentage with the recent play of fellow backfield mate J.K. Dobbins. Before Dobbins returned, Edwards was seeing anywhere between 11 and 16 carries. In Week 14 against the Steelers, he saw 13 even with Dobbins as the lead back. Last week, however, he only had seven but did capitalize with an average of 7.9 yards per carry. Against the Atlanta Falcons, there's a bigger opportunity for the run game to go wild, but his value comes down to whether or not he can capitalize on fewer opportunities behind Dobbins. The 27-year-old slots in at a low-end flex play for Week 16.

  • Gus Edwards Plays Supporting Role Again On Saturday

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards finished with just seven carries for 55 yards during the loss to the Cleveland Browns on Saturday. J.K. Dobbins led the way out of the backfield, totaling 125 yards off 13 attempts, so Edwards couldn't get anything going from a production standpoint. Since returning from a lengthy layoff because of a bum hamstring, the 27-year-old has only one touchdown in the last four games. With Dobbins appearing to have a firm grasp on the No. 1 spot on the depth chart, Edwards may not be the best choice for fantasy managers in Week 16 against the Atlanta Falcons.

  • Gus Edwards A Low-End Flex Option Versus Browns

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards is in a timeshare right now with J.K. Dobbins and, at times, Kenyan Drake. The 27-year-old mainly split work with just Dobbins in Week 14 and was able to gather 66 yards on 13 carries. The Cleveland Browns struggle against pass-catching backs, but Edwards has only seen a total of two targets across the five games that he's played. That coupled with Dobbins being the lead back and Tyler Huntley also stealing some carries puts Edwards in the flex range for Week 15.

  • Gus Edwards Takes Backseat In Week 14

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards carried the ball 13 times for a total of 66 yards and failed to be targeted a single time in the passing game. This was the second week in a row that Edwards was out-touched by a backfield mate and failed to see even a single target. J.K. Dobbins was activated from the IR ahead of this game and stole the show, while Edwards did bounce back a bit from his paltry performance in Week 13. The promising part was the 5.1 yards per carry. He'll look to give Dobbins even more competition in the backfield against the Browns in Week 15.

Dec 11 · Source via Ravens Gus Edwards
  • Gus Edwards A Flex Option In Week 14

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards had a rough go of it against the Denver Broncos in Week 13, but he still looks to be a flex option against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was out carried by his backfield mate Kenyan Drake last week, and he only was able to put up a weak 12 yards on six carries. The Steelers' defense presents a bit of a tough matchup with their seventh-ranked run defense, but the Ravens are still the run-first offense that we've come to know. J.K. Dobbins is set to return though and that could take a lot of opportunities away from Edwards.

  • Gus Edwards A Non-Factor In Week 13 Win

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards managed a measly 12 rushing yards on six carries against the Denver Broncos in week 13. He also didn't see a single target in the passing game either. This was the first game of the season that he didn't see double-digit carries and failed to break the 50-yard mark. As a team, the Ravens only mustered 285 yards of total offense and less than half of that was on the ground. His backfield mate, Kenyan Drake, saw more action since he was more active in the passing game. Edwards will look to get back on track during a week 14 rivalry clash with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

  • Gus Edwards Finds The End Zone In Return

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards (knee, hamstring) finished with 52 yards and a touchdown off 16 carries during the loss to the Jaguars on Sunday. Edwards was active for the first time since Week 8, but quickly reclaimed his spot as the No. 1 option on the depth chart. As long as the 27-year-old remains healthy, he'll continue to lead the backfield. As a result, Kenyan Drake, who had two touches in Week 12, likely won't see much work moving ahead.

  • Gus Edwards Active For Week 12

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards (knee) is active for the Week 12 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 27-year-old will make his return to the field after a two-game absence. When healthy, Edwards has 131 yards on 27 rushing attempts this season. That being said, he's looking like a decent fantasy option for Sunday's slate. His return will decrease the fantasy value of Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill. Both players should still be involved, but won't be reliable streaming options. Edwards should be considered a RB3 for this Week 12 matchup.

  • Gus Edwards Expected To Suit Up In Week 12

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards (hamstring, knee) is expected to return in Week 12 following a two-game absence, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. Edwards has been active for two contests this season, rushing 27 times for 131 yards. While Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill should get involved Sunday, expect Edwards to operate as the lead back while ranking as an RB3 in fantasy football.

  • Gus Edwards Trending Toward Playing Sunday

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards (hamstring/knee) seems to be trending in the right direction for the team's Week 12 matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Head coach John Harbaugh said he "hopes" Edwards will play but expects left tackle, Ronnie Stanley (ankle), to be ruled out. If Edwards plays, he'll be an intriguing flex option in a top-12 matchup for running backs, but he has a low floor with no pass-catching upside and plenty of competition for touches with Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill. Ultimately, he's a touchdown-or-bust option in the context of the Ravens' offense.

  • Lamar Jackson, Gus Edwards Practice In Full

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson (hip) and running back Gus Edwards (hamstring) were both upgraded to full practices on Thursday. Jackson missed Wednesday's practice, while Edwards was limited. The 25-year-old signal-caller's injury has been downplayed, and he will suit up in Week 12 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he'll be a must-start, high-end QB1 for fantasy managers. Edwards missed his second straight game last week but is trending in the right direction to play this Sunday. Even if Edwards is able to return in Week 12, Kenyan Drake figures to lead Baltimore's backfield, which will make Edwards a tough sell as anything more than a touchdown-dependent RB3/flex.

  • Gus Edwards Back At Practice

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards (hamstring) was back at practice on Wednesday after missing the past two games. The veteran running back has only played in two games this season because of various injuries. However, he has averaged 5.2 yards per rushing attempt and 12.6 half-point PPR fantasy points per game this season. Assuming he is healthy enough to play this week, Edwards should resume his role as the lead back. However, Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill will maintain their roles behind the starter. Meanwhile, Drake and Hill would see an increase in work if Edwards is forced to miss his third straight game Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

  • Gus Edwards, DeSean Jackson Hopeful To Play In Week 12

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards (knee/hamstring) and wide receiver DeSean Jackson (hamstring) could play in Week 12, as head coach John Harbaugh said the team is hopeful to get them back against the Jaguars. Edwards will immediately enter the fantasy start 'em, sit 'em bubble as a primary ball carrier in a top rushing attack, while Jackson figures to be a desperation deep league flex play. Demarcus Robinson, Devin Duvernay, and Mark Andrews should be ahead of him in the target pecking order, so the upside is limited in a low-volume passing offense.

  • Gus Edwards Inactive For Week 11

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards (hamstring, knee) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers. Evidently, the Ravens are exercising a measure of caution with Edwards, who was listed as questionable but has not played since Week 8. Kenyan Drake should handle lead-back duties against Carolina, but Justice Hill also figures to get involved.

  • Gus Edwards Not Expected To Play Sunday

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards (hamstring, knee) is trending towards being inactive in Week 11 against the Carolina Panthers, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. An official decision won't be made until after his pregame workout, but as of now, it looks like it will be Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill leading the rushing attack for Baltimore.

  • Gus Edwards Practicing Again Thursday

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards (hamstring) took part in his second straight practice this week on Thursday. Edwards was limited in his return on Wednesday, so he'll likely be listed as limited again on Thursday. The 27-year-old had last week's bye to rest up after he was held out in Week 9. In his absence in Week 8, Kenyan Drake was the leader of the backfield and scored two touchdowns. Edwards is trending towards a return this weekend against the Carolina Panthers, but he's only played in two games in 2022 and has 27 carries for 131 yards and two touchdowns. A return from Edwards in Week 11 would make both he and Drake low-ceiling RB3/flex options in Baltimore's run-heavy attack.

  • Gus Edwards Returns To Practice

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards (hamstring) returned to practice on Wednesday. The veteran running back missed the Week 9 win over the New Orleans Saints after suffering the hamstring injury in Week 8. Edwards missed the first six games this season recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in the preseason a year ago. However, the veteran had at least 65 rushing yards in both contests this year before suffering the hamstring injury. With J.K. Dobbins out at least one more week (knee), Edwards will share the backfield with Kenyan Drake in the Week 11 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

Nov 16 · Source via Ravens Gus Edwards
  • Ravens Plan To Have Gus Edwards Back After The Bye

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said the team plans to have running back Gus Edwards (hamstring) back after the Week 10 bye. Edwards made his season debut in Week 7 but sustained a right hamstring injury in Week 8 and was held out of the Monday night game against the New Orleans Saints in Week 9. With Edwards sidelined on Monday, Kenyan Drake blew up for 93 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries as the lead back. J.K. Dobbins (knee) remains on Injured Reserve, but Edwards' impending return after the bye will once again complicate the Ravens' backfield. Drake will still probably be the most attractive fantasy back in Baltimore in Week 11 against the Carolina Panthers, but Edwards' presence will lower his overall ceiling and floor.

  • Mark Andrews, Gus Edwards Officially Out Monday Night

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews (knee, shoulder) and running back Gus Edwards (hamstring) are officially inactive for the Monday night game against the New Orleans Saints. With Andrews out of the picture, rookie Isaiah Likely will look to have another big game after scoring his first NFL touchdown last week. Likely will have TE1 upside to close out Week 9 action in an offense that is also missing receiver Rashod Bateman (foot). With Edwards sideline, Kenyan Drake should be Baltimore's backfield leader, with Justice Hill and Mike Davis mixing in as change-of-pace options in the team's run-heavy approach. Andrews and Edwards will have an extra week to rest up with the team's bye coming in Week 10.
