Brett Maher A Top Fantasy Option In Week 3

Los Angeles Rams kicker Brett Maher should now be rostered in all leagues as he's ranked top-five at the position. The team faces the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 3, an excellent spot for the former Cowboys kicker. The Bengals have surrendered five field goal makes on six attempts through the season's first two games. The team's young defense has been struggling, and the Rams will have opportunities to drive down the field consistently, putting them in field-goal range. Maher is a must-start and a great option in Week 3.

Brett Maher Perfect In Week 2 Loss

Los Angeles Rams kicker Brett Maher did not miss in the team's 30-23 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The former Cowboys kicker went 3-for-3 on field goals and 2-for-2 on extra point tries. As a result of this Rams' offense being as high-paced as it is, Maher has attempted eight field goals through the first two games and has made six of them. The Nebraska product was a top-three fantasy kicker last season and is on his way to do so again. Maher has been a solid fantasy option this season and can be used as a streamer in the Week 3 matchup against the Bengals.

Brett Maher - Week 2 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Los Angeles Rams kicker Brett Maher had a busy debut with the team as he attempted five field goals in their Week 1 victory. While the former Cowboys kicker did miss two of his five attempts, one was a 56-yarder, and the other was a 57-yarder. Maher will get plenty of opportunities this season and has a real chance to be a top fantasy kicker again. Maher is an excellent option at the position if you still need to get a reliable kicker. However, fantasy managers might want to find a different streaming option in Week 2. The Rams offense could have trouble moving the ball in a tough matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, who allowed just seven points to the Steelers in Week 1.

Brett Maher Misses Two Field Goals In Win Over Seahawks

Los Angeles Rams kicker Brett Maher struggled at the end of last season with the Dallas Cowboys, and his struggles continued in the Week 1 win over the Seattle Seahawks. Maher made all three of his extra point attempts but missed two of his five field goal tries in his Rams debut. The Rams' offense looked explosive, so Maher might see plenty of field goal opportunities this season. That said, he likely won't have a job long if he continues to miss field goals moving forward.

Brett Maher Looks To Solidify Himself As The Rams' New Kicker In 2023

Los Angeles Rams kicker Brett Maher will make his debut with the team in their Week 1 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. The former Cowboy finished with the third most points among all kickers last season, as he went 29-for-32 and hit nine 50+ yard field goals. Matt Gay, who kicked for the Rams last season, finished top-eight at the position in 2022, showing how often this team settles for field goals. While there are still other kickers ranked above him in the latest RotoBaller rankings, Maher is a solid fantasy option this week.

Rams Sign K Brett Maher To Practice Squad

AUGUST 31: The Rams still do not have a kicker on their active roster, but they now carry one on their practice squad. Maher’s deal is a P-squad agreement, the team announced. The veteran specialist is a clear candidate to begin the season as Los Angeles’ kicker; that move would require a promotion or a […]
Aug 31 · Pro Football Rumors Rams Brett MaherRams Finalizing Contract With Brett Maher

The Los Angeles Rams are finalizing an undisclosed contract with veteran kicker Brett Maher on Wednesday, according to a source. The Rams will go with Maher after releasing Tanner Brown on roster cutdown day on Tuesday. The 33-year-old Maher was with the Denver Broncos during training camp and the preseason, but they traded for Wil Lutz on Tuesday and decided to go in another direction. The Rams will probably have a short leash on Maher to open the season, but he appears to be their starter now. He made a career-high 90.6 percent of his 32 field-goal attempts last year for the Dallas Cowboys and also missed just three of his league-high 53 extra-point tries in 17 games. Maher is a career 81% kicker in four NFL seasons and has a strong leg, but fantasy managers should be able to find better options to begin the 2023 campaign at the position.

Broncos To Acquire K Wil Lutz From Saints, Release Brett Maher

12:45pm: In a corresponding (and unsurprising) move, Maher will be released, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. After losing out on the Broncos’ job, Maher will now need to move quickly to find another opportunity as teams sort out their kicking positions amidst roster cutdowns. 11:20am: The previously rumored Sean Payton-Wil Lutz reunion is happening. The Saints are […]
Aug 29 · Pro Football Rumors Broncos Saints Wil Lutz Brett MaherElliot Fry Reaches Injury Settlement With Broncos

The Denver Broncos waived kicker Elliot Fry (undisclosed) off Injured Reserve on Tuesday after reaching an injury settlement. It means Fry will now be able to sign with another team for the 2023 season. Brett Maher is still the leading candidate to be Denver's opening-day kicker in Week 1 against the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders. It's unclear exactly what the 28-year-old Fry is dealing with, and it remains to be seen if another team will give him a chance to compete for a kicking job this summer. He didn't kick at all in the NFL last year and spent the 2021 season with the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs, going 4-for-5 on field-goal attempts in just two games.

Broncos Eyeing K Wil Lutz?

Having moved on from Brandon McManus earlier this offseason, the Broncos will have a new kicker this season for the first time since 2014. The team’s search for his replacement is ongoing, but it could lead them to another familiar face for head coach Sean Payton. The Saints are currently in the midst of a kicking competition […]
Aug 21 · Pro Football Rumors Saints Broncos Wil Lutz Brett MaherBrett Maher Signs With Denver

Free-agent kicker Brett Maher agreed to a deal with the Broncos. The 33-year-old made 29 of his 32 attempts with the Cowboys last season. However, he connected on only one of his six extra-point tries during the playoffs, forcing Dallas to go in a different direction. At any rate, Maher was a top-10 fantasy kicker in 2022-23. But he'll first need to earn a permanent spot on the roster over Elliott Fry.

Cowboys Sign Kicker Brandon Aubrey

The Dallas Cowboys signed kicker Brandon Aubrey to an undisclosed deal on Thursday. Aubrey spent the last two seasons with the Birmingham Stallions of the USFL. The Cowboys didn't take much of a look at the veteran free-agent kicking market this offseason and chose not to re-sign Brett Maher after he missed five extra points in the playoffs. Aubrey will compete with Tristan Vizcaino for the starting job in training camp this summer. The 28-year-old was a star soccer player for Notre Dame and was taken in the first round of the 2017 MLS draft by Toronto FC. He was named an All-USFL kicker in his first year in 2022 and made 14 of his 15 field-goal tries and all 35 extra-point attempts this year.
