  • Chargers DST Not A Fantasy Option

The Los Angeles Chargers defense/special teams is averaging just over four fantasy points per contest this season and cannot be trusted in Week 12 against the Arizona Cardinals. Although the Cardinals managed just 10 points last week, the team is expected to have both Kyler Murray and Marquise Brown (foot) back for what is projected to be a high-scoring affair. The Chargers DST could surrender a lot of points this week and should remain on fantasy waiver wires in all formats.

  • Chargers Defense Picked Apart By Chiefs

The Los Angeles Chargers defense allowed 30 points to the Kansas City Chiefs in a Week 11 loss, recording just one sack and one fumble recovery. The Chargers are surrendering the fourth-most points per game in the NFL, so it's no surprise to see them picked apart by Patrick Mahomes and company. The Los Angeles DST cannot be trusted for fantasy purposes and should remain on waiver wires in all formats.

  • Chargers DST Must Be Avoided In Week 11

The Los Angeles Chargers defense/special teams has been one of the worst fantasy DSTs this season and will face an extremely difficult opponent in the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 11. Los Angeles is surrendering over 25 points per game, and the Chiefs are scoring over 30 points per game, setting up the Chargers for potential disaster in this matchup. Fantasy managers should avoid the Chargers DST at all costs in what could be a divisional shootout.

  • Chargers Defense Turns In Uninspiring Week 10 Performance

The Los Angeles Chargers' defense surrendered 22 points to the San Francisco 49ers, recording one sack and a fumble recovery in Sunday night's loss. The Chargers DST has been essentially unplayable for fantasy since Week 1. This is highly unlikely to change anytime soon, especially in a Week 11 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. Fantasy managers should look elsewhere as there should be better options available on waiver wires.

  • Chargers Defense Should Be Avoided In Week 10

The Los Angeles Chargers defense/special teams ranks as a bottom-three fantasy unit so far this season and will draw a tough matchup against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 10. San Francisco is fresh off of a Week 9 bye and hung 31 points on the Los Angeles Rams two weeks ago with recently acquired running back Christian McCaffrey totaling three touchdowns. Given that the Chargers have been terrible against opposing running backs in 2022, McCaffrey and the 49ers could feast once again. The Los Angeles DST cannot be trusted and should be left on waivers in fantasy leagues.

  • Chargers Defense Mediocre Against Falcons

The Los Angeles Chargers' defense held the Atlanta Falcons to 17 points, adding two sacks and two fumble recoveries in a Week 9 win. The Chargers DST was not necessarily prolific but also not terrible from a fantasy perspective. With matchups against the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs coming in the next two weeks, though, there is no reason to roster the Los Angeles defense/special teams.

  • Chargers Defense Allows 37 Points To Seahawks

The Los Angeles Chargers defense surrendered 37 points in a loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 7. The Chargers did manage two sacks, one interception, and a fumble recovery, but were once again destroyed on the ground as Seattle totaled 214 rushing yards. With a Week 8 bye on tap, the Los Angeles DST can be comfortably dropped in redraft fantasy football leagues.

  • Chargers Defense A Middling Option In Week 7

The Los Angeles Chargers defense/special teams has been extremely inconsistent for fantasy purposes this season and will take the field on Sunday against a Seattle Seahawks offense averaging 24.3 points per game through six weeks. Luckily for the Chargers, Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith came back to earth last week after a prolific stretch of games in Weeks 3-5. Still, Los Angeles' defense has been beaten on the ground and through the air this year, making it difficult to trust in fantasy lineups. Fantasy managers should look around for a better option before settling on the Chargers DST this week.

  • Chargers Defense Records Four Sacks In Week 6

The Los Angeles Chargers defense allowed 16 points to the Denver Broncos and recorded four sacks in a Week 6 victory. This was a low-scoring AFC West affair, which was positive for both fantasy DSTs involved, but the Chargers were unable to force any turnovers. The Los Angeles DST has not been a reliable fantasy option so far this season and has been especially susceptible to the run, making it hard to trust against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 7.

  • Chargers Defense Gives Up 28 Points In Week 5

The Los Angeles Chargers defense/special teams failed to deliver for fantasy purposes in a Week 5 victory over the Cleveland Browns. The Chargers did come away with one interception, but allowed 28 points and did not record any sacks. They are a difficult unit to depend on, especially with Joey Bosa (groin) injured, but could be worth a look once again in a Week 6 matchup with the struggling Denver Broncos.

  • Chargers Defense Is A Mediocre Play In Week 5

The Los Angeles Chargers defense/special teams has been on and off for fantasy so far this season. In Week 5, Los Angeles will face a relatively difficult opponent in the Cleveland Browns, who are scoring over 26 points per game. Without Joey Bosa (groin), the Chargers' defense is less appealing, but still finished as a top-12 fantasy DST in Week 4 against the Houston Texans. Fantasy managers should take a look at waivers for defenses with better matchups, but don't need to bench the Chargers at all costs.

  • Chargers Defense Records Two Picks, Four Sacks In Week 4 Win

The Los Angeles Chargers defense/special teams finished with two interceptions, four sacks, and a forced fumble while allowing 24 points to the Houston Texans in a Week 4 victory. Fantasy managers that started Los Angeles' DST probably didn't expect 24 points from the Texans, who averaged just 16.3 through the first three weeks of the season. Still, the Chargers weren't terrible for fantasy. Their defensive ceiling is likely not as high with Joey Bosa (groin) on injured reserve, but they will remain on the fantasy radar in Week 5 for a matchup with the Cleveland Browns.

  • Chargers Defense - Week 4 Outlook For Fantasy Football

The Los Angeles Chargers defense started off the season on a high note but has since struggled, specifically in Week 3 when it surrendered 38 points to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The team will now travel to Houston to face the Texans in Week 4 and could certainly rebound against quarterback Davis Mills who is coming off of a two-interception performance. Los Angeles did just place Joey Bosa (groin) on injured reserve so the defense will be without its star linebacker for a while. The Chargers DST is not the must-start option that it would be with Bosa in the lineup but still looks like a quality play as the Texans are bottom-10 in points scored so far this season.

  • Chargers Defense Picked Apart By Jaguars

The Los Angeles Chargers' defense allowed 38 points to the Jacksonville Jaguars and failed to record a sack or force any turnovers in a Week 3 blowout loss. Los Angeles was without All-Pro cornerback J.C. Jackson (ankle) entering the contest and also lost Pro Bowl edge rusher Joey Bosa (groin) in the first half. The Chargers do have favorable matchups with the Houston Texans and Cleveland Browns in the next two weeks, but fantasy managers should monitor the status of the team's defensive stars before deciding to deploy their DST in starting fantasy lineups.

  • Chargers Defense - Week 3 Outlook For Fantasy Football

The Los Angeles Chargers defense/special teams had a great showing in Week 1 but was much less effective last week against the high-powered Kansas City Chiefs offense. The Chargers' defense is talented and will have a much better opportunity to come through for fantasy purposes in a Week 3 home showdown with the Jacksonville Jaguars. All-Pro cornerback J.C. Jackson (ankle) is listed as doubtful, but with matchups against the Houston Texans and Cleveland Browns in the next two weeks, Los Angeles' DST should be rostered and can be started this week.

  • Chargers Defense Cools Down In Week 2

The Los Angeles Chargers defense/special teams gave up 21 points and was unable to force any turnovers in Thursday night's 27-24 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The defense looked stout early on and forced Kansas City to punt on each of their first two drives, but Patrick Mahomes and company eventually got things going. Los Angeles unfortunately only sacked Mahomes once after racking up six sacks and three interceptions against the Las Vegas Raiders last week. The Chargers DST looks like a solid fantasy option for the next three weeks, though, with matchups against Jacksonville, Houston, and Cleveland on the schedule.

  • Chargers Defense - Week 2 Outlook For Fantasy Football

The Los Angeles Chargers defense/special teams had a solid fantasy performance in Week 1 against the Las Vegas Raiders, but have an even more challenging matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2. The talent on the Chargers defense shined last week as they recorded six sacks and forced three interceptions from Derek Carr. Fantasy managers could bet on this talent to make plays again this week, but Patrick Mahomes is fresh off of a 360-yard-and-five-touchdown performance in which the Chiefs' offense looked unstoppable. The Chargers DST is not a recommended play this week solely based on their matchup but could be worth holding onto for a Week 3 bout with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

  • Chargers Defense Not On Fantasy Radar

The Los Angeles Chargers defense/special teams did not provide any value for fantasy last season, as the team's defense was in the bottom 10 in yards allowed and bottom-three in points allowed. Los Angeles will open the 2022 season with matchups against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 1 and the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2, both divisional games with shootout potential. Needless to say, the Chargers D/ST should not be clogging your bench, let alone considered for your starting lineups.

  • Chargers Defense Is The Real Deal

The Los Angeles Chargers defense is being overlooked with all the hype surrounding quarterback Justin Herbert and the offense. They have legitimate superstars up front with Joey Bosa and on the back end in safety Derwin James. When James is healthy, he is the difference-maker for the Chargers D, and the big contract they just gave him speaks to their faith in his ability to stay on the field going forward. James and Bosa could both receive Defensive Player of the Year votes in 2022, and this defense could become one of the best in the NFL. LA's defense/special teams finished just 22nd in overall fantasy points a year ago, but they could finish as a top-three unit if everything goes their way in 2022.
