  • Saints Defense A Streaming Option In Week 11

The New Orleans Saints defense has been surprisingly poor this season, but they have shown boom potential. Just three weeks ago, they shut out the Las Vegas Raiders. With this week's game being at home against a struggling Los Angeles Rams team that just lost the face of their offense in wide receiver Cooper Kupp (ankle), the Saints defense/special teams can be fired up as a solid streaming option in Week 11, even with quarterback Matthew Stafford (concussion) expected to return from a one-game absence.

  • Saints Defense Picks Up Six Sacks In Week 10

The New Orleans Saints defense played well in a 20-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 10. Despite the Saints allowing Pittsburgh to gain 379 total yards of offense, they did manage to sack Kenny Pickett six times in the contest. The Saints defense has been hot of late, having 12 sacks over their past three games. New Orleans will draw a plus matchup in Week 11 against a Los Angeles Rams team that is likely to be without Cooper Kupp.

  • Saints Defense A Quality Fantasy Option In Week 10

The New Orleans Saints defense will head on the road to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 10. The Steelers represent a plus matchup for the Saints as they are allowing the third-most fantasy points per game to opposing fantasy D/STs in 2022. Part of the reason for that is that Pittsburgh quarterback Kenny Pickett has thrown eight interceptions in five games while only managing to throw two touchdowns. The Saints are installed as 2.5-point road favorites in a game with a low 40.5-point over/under. Treat them as a top-five fantasy D/ST heading into Week 10.

  • Saints Defense Draws Tough Week 9 Matchup

The New Orleans Saints played well against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 8, shutting out Derek Carr and company in the contest. The Saints will look for another strong performance at home against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9's Monday night contest. New Orleans' defense will face a stiff test in that matchup as the Ravens are scoring the fifth-most points per game in the league through eight games. The Saints are installed as three-point home underdogs in a game with a high 48-point over/under. This is a tough spot to use them in fantasy, so managers should be looking elsewhere if in need of a defense to stream for Week 9.

  • Saints Defense Not A Strong Play In Week 8

The New Orleans Saints defense has been struggling in 2022 as they are allowing 28.6 points per game, 31st in the league. They head into a Week 8 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders as two-point home underdogs in a game with a high 50-point over/under. The Raiders have not been a favorable matchup for fantasy defenses in 2022 as they are allowing the fifth-fewest fantasy points per game to the position through the first seven weeks of the season. The New Orleans defense is not a recommended fantasy play heading into Week 8.

  • Saints Defense A Mid-Range Option Vs. Cardinals

The New Orleans Saints defense will head on the road to take on the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7's Thursday night game. The Saints head into Thursday's game as 1.5-point underdogs in a game with a low 44.5-point over/under. Arizona has not been an easy matchup for defenses in 2022, allowing the 15th-most fantasy points per game to the position through six games. Treat the New Orleans defense as a mid-range option in fantasy for Week 7.

  • Saints Defense A Solid Option In Week 6

The New Orleans Saints will take on the Cincinnati Bengals at home in Week 6. The Bengals have struggled to protect Joe Burrow in 2022, ranking fourth in the league with 19 sacks allowed. The matchup on Sunday should be a good defensive environment as the Saints are installed as 1.5-point home underdogs in a game with a low 43.5-point over/under. Cincinnati's offense has been generous to fantasy defenses in 2022, allowing the eighth-most fantasy points per game through five games. Treat the New Orleans defense as a top-15 option in fantasy for Week 6.

  • Saints DST A Middling Option For Week 5

The New Orleans Saints defense/special teams has not been a reliable unit for fantasy to begin the season and will face a Seattle Seahawks team that is surprisingly 11th in the league in points scored per game. This is mainly due to Seattle's 48-point explosion in Week 4, though, as the offense was not nearly as effective in its first three outings. The Saints are a solid defense and could present some problems for Geno Smith and company on Sunday, but will need to start generating more turnovers to produce for fantasy. The New Orleans DST does not need to be avoided but should be viewed as a low-end starting option if there are no better choices on waivers.

  • Saints Defense Registers One Turnover In Loss

The New Orleans Saints defense registered just one turnover against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4 -- a Tyrann Mathieu interception. The unit also sacked quarterback Kirk Cousins three times. In the end, though, the Saints surrendered 28 points to the Vikings and lost in London. On a positive note, better days are ahead as New Orleans takes on the Seattle Seahawks in Week 5.
