  • Cardinals Defense A Risky Option Versus Chargers

The Arizona Cardinals D/ST is a risky option in Week 12, as Justin Herbert and the Chargers come to town. They were embarrassed in Week 11 against the 49ers, as Jimmy Garoppolo threw four touchdowns in a blowout win. Herbert will be without Mike Williams in this one, but an offense that includes Keenan Allen and Austin Ekeler can cause a lot of problems for the struggling Cardinals' defense. They should be avoided in fantasy lineups this week.

  • Arizona Cardinals Defense Gets Torched By 49ers

The Arizona Cardinals defense could do nothing to slow down the 49ers in their 38-10 loss on Monday night. They did not account for a single sack or turnover, getting dominated on the ground and through the air. They started strong, shutting out San Francisco in the first quarter before giving 38 points in the final three. They'll face an explosive Chargers offense next, making them a fantasy football defense to avoid.

  • Cardinals D/ST Not A Starting Option In Week 11

The Arizona Cardinals D/ST will have their hands full on Monday night, as the 49ers loaded offense will look to take advantage of their weak defensive unit. The Cardinals have given up the fourth-most passing yards this season, and it won't get any easier for them this week. A matchup against the likes of Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, and George Kittle seems like one to avoid given what we have seen from the Cardinals this season.

  • Cardinals Defense Records Three Sacks, Forces Two Turnovers

The Arizona Cardinals defense put together a solid day of fantasy production, as they recorded three sacks and forced two turnovers while surrendering just 17 points against the Los Angeles Rams. Their life was made easier with quarterback Matthew Stafford (concussion) inactive and receiver Cooper Kupp (ankle) leaving the game early, but it was an impressive showing nonetheless. Moving forward, they don't seem like a reliable weekly starting option, but they are well within streaming consideration against weaker offenses.

  • Cardinals Defense Is A Streaming Option Versus Rams

The Arizona Cardinals D/ST is a potential streaming option in Week 10 against a struggling Rams offense. With Matt Stafford questionable for this game, the Cardinals' defensive outlook in this game would be even more appealing. Even with a struggling offensive line and some inconsistent quarterback play from the Rams, fantasy managers shouldn't get too excited to start the Cardinals D/ST. They have allowed the third-most passing yards this season, which means this could be a get-right game for the Rams' passing attack.

  • Cardinals Defense Scores Touchdown In Week 9 Loss

The Arizona Cardinals defense/special teams somewhat salvaged a disastrous fantasy performance in Week 9 with a pick-six from Zaven Collins, and they allowed 31 points to the Geno Smith-led Seahawks. Smith threw for 275 yards while the Seattle rushing attack got loose for another 158 yards on the ground. The Cardinals defense is not a reliable fantasy option on a weekly basis, but they could be an interesting streamer in Week 10 against a struggling Rams offense.

  • Cardinals Defense A Risky Option Versus Seahawks

The Arizona Cardinals D/ST is a risky starting option against the Seahawks in Week 9, as they have allowed the fifth-most passing yards this season. Geno Smith, D.K. Metcalf, and Tyler Lockett are certainly not a plus matchup for this defensive unit, who allowed Andy Dalton to throw for four touchdowns against them back in Week 7. Fantasy managers can likely find better options on the waiver wire if they are in need of a streamer this week.

  • Cardinals Defense Surrenders 34 Points In Loss

The Arizona Cardinals defense allowed 208 passing yards and 173 rushing yards on the way to allowing 34 points in the team's Week 8 loss. They had no answer for Dalvin Cook, who totaled 111 rushing yards on 5.6 yards per carry. Moving forward, the Arizona D/ST does not look like a reliable fantasy option. They will be nothing more than a streaming option against good matchups the rest of the way.

  • Cardinals Defense Not A Good Option In Week 8

The Arizona Cardinals D/ST is a risky starting option in Week 8 as they take on the Vikings on the road. This is a defensive unit that just gave up 361 yards and four touchdowns to Andy Dalton, but they were bailed out by two defensive touchdowns late in the second half. They have given up the fifth-most passing yards this season, which does not bode well against Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen, and company. Fantasy managers should treat the Cardinals D/ST as nothing more than a desperation option.

  • Cardinals Defense Scores Two Touchdowns In Week 7

The Arizona Cardinals D/ST came up big with two interceptions returned for touchdowns in Week 7 but allowed Andy Dalton to throw for 361 yards and four touchdowns in the process. The secondary wasn't all that impressive despite the two big plays, nor was their pass rush. They failed to record a sack on 47 pass attempts in this one, making the Cardinals D/ST nothing more than a streaming option moving forward.

  • Cardinals Defense A Streaming Option In Week 7

The Arizona Cardinals D/ST could be a solid streaming option in Week 7 as they take on a depleted Saints offense. They will be without wide receivers Michael Thomas (foot) and Jarvis Landry (ankle) in this one, while both quarterbacks Jameis Winston (back, ankle) and Andy Dalton (back) are banged-up. The Arizona secondary hasn't been all that impressive this season, as they have given up the 10th-most passing yards. However, the depleted offense of their opponent on a Thursday night makes them worth a look

  • Cardinals Defense Records Only Touchdown In Week 6

The Arizona Cardinals D/ST held the high-flying Geno Smith-led Seahawks offense to 19 points in Week 6, as they recorded the only touchdown for the team. It was a solid showing for the defensive unit overall, as they totaled five sacks and held Smith to just 197 passing yards. They could be an intriguing streaming option in Week 7 on Thursday night, as the Cardinals will return home to take on a depleted Saints offense.

  • Cardinals Defense A Risky Option In Week 6

The Arizona Cardinals D/ST is a risky option for fantasy managers in Week 6 as they take on a Seattle offense that has been buzzing along with Geno Smith under center. The Cardinals have given up the 13th most passing yards this season, so they don't seem like an appealing option against a quarterback that leads the league in completion percentage at 75.2 percent. Fantasy managers should look elsewhere for a D/ST option in Week 6.

  • Cardinals Defense Surrenders 20 Points In Week 5

The Cardinals defense surrendered 20 points to the Eagles in Week 5. On a positive note, the unit held Jalen Hurts to 239 passing yards and no touchdowns. However, the signal-caller still found the end zone, scoring twice on the ground. Arizona's D has been one of the worst in the league this season, mainly since the team entered Sunday's showdown versus Philly with only four sacks, the lowest total in the NFL. It's best fantasy managers look the other way heading into Week 6 against the Seahawks, especially with Geno Smith throwing for at least 320 yards in two of his last three starts.

  • Cardinals Defense Not A Starting Option In Week 5

The Arizona Cardinals defense/special teams faces a brutal matchup in Week 5 against a high-powered Eagles offense led by quarterback Jalen Hurts. The Eagles rank ninth in passing offense and fifth in rushing offense, making the Cardinals a near must-bench defense this week. Fantasy managers can likely find much better streaming options on the waiver wire in conventional-sized formats.

  • Cardinals Defense Forces Three Turnovers In Week 4

The Arizona Cardinals' defense took advantage of a struggling Panthers offense in Week 4, as they intercepted Baker Mayfield two times and recovered a fumble in the 26-16 victory. Having said that, fantasy managers shouldn't get used to these types of performances, as we have seen the Cardinals struggle mightily against talented opposition. They are in for a tough test in Week 5 as Jalen Hurts and the undefeated Eagles come to town, so fantasy managers should likely look for options elsewhere for their D/ST slot.

  • Cardinals Defense Faces Struggling Carolina Offense In Week 4

The Arizona Cardinals defense could be an intriguing streaming option in Week 4 against the Carolina Panthers. The Cardinals haven't been particularly impressive, as they have given up 843 passing yards through three games this season. However, Baker Mayfield and company look like the perfect matchup for this D/ST to get back on track in terms of fantasy production. With Christian McCaffrey potentially not suiting up in this one, fantasy managers can feel comfortable using the Cardinals D/ST as a streaming option with some upside.

  • Cardinals Defense Allows 20 Points In Week 3

The Arizona Cardinals defense allowed 20 points and recorded a fumble recovery in the team's 20-12 loss to the Rams in Week 3. They were able to get to Matt Stafford for one sack in this one and allowed 349 total yards. One thing worth noting is they held Cooper Kupp to just 44 receiving yards, something we haven't seen in a very long time. The Cardinals D/ST could be a streaming option in Week 4 as they take on a struggling Carolina Panthers offense.

  • Cardinals Defense Draws Tough Matchup With Rams

The Arizona Cardinals defense will be charged with the tall task of slowing down Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp and the Los Angeles Rams offense in Week 3. Through two weeks, the Cardinals secondary has given up the fourth-most passing yards and the most passing touchdowns. They don't look like a reliable option at all this week, so fantasy managers should seek out some better options to slot into their defense/special teams spot.

  • Cardinals Defense Scores Game-Winning Touchdown In Week 2

The Arizona Cardinals' defense came up huge in Week 2 as they returned a forced fumble in overtime to the end zone en route to a 29-23 victory. Despite their huge play, they recorded just one sack and allowed 243 yards through the air and 80 yards on the ground, so they don't look like a reliable fantasy D/ST just yet. With a tough matchup against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 3, fantasy managers should look elsewhere for a starting option.

  • Cardinals Defense Draws Another Tough Matchup In Week 2

The Arizona Cardinals defense will have their hands full once again in Week 2 as they take on Derek Carr, Davante Adams, Darren Waller, and company. They were shredded in Week 1 by Patrick Mahomes as they allowed 360 passing yards and five touchdowns. After what we saw in the season opener, it is hard to trust them in fantasy lineups moving forward, especially against good offenses. Fantasy managers should look elsewhere for a D/ST in Week 2.

  • Cardinals Defense Draws Tough Matchup In Week 1

The Arizona Cardinals defense will face a tough matchup to open the 2022 season as Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs come to town. Despite giving up the seventh-fewest passing yards in 2021, the Cardinals are an easy fade in what should be a high-scoring game with two of the league's best quarterbacks matching up. Fantasy managers should leave the Cardinals D/ST on the waiver wire/bench to start the season.
