  • Broncos Defense No Longer In Streaming Consideration

The Denver Broncos Defense must disrupt Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady in Week 3 to have a chance at avoiding an 0-3 start on the season. Linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu has stepped up in Von Miller's (ankle) absence, starting across from former fifth overall pick Bradley Chubb. The young secondary of Essang Bassey and Michael Ojemudia will surely be tested by Brady, with Tampa wideouts Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, who is returning from a concussion, having the clear advantage. Denver's D has just two sacks, one fumble recovery and one interception through two games, good for three fantasy points per game. Until the Broncos get a better matchup, you should look elsewhere for your starting defensive unit.

  • Broncos Defense Keeps Team In The Game In Week 2

The Denver Broncos Defense was respectable in the Week 2 loss against a powerful Steelers offense with two rookies in the secondary. Safety Justin Simmons had two passes defensed, including an interception of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Fellow safety Kareem Jackson also recovered a fumble that led to a fourth-quarter touchdown that cut Pittsburgh's lead to five. The defense had a total of six tackles for loss, with their lone sack coming courtesy of defensive tackle Mike Purcell. They did, however, allow two passing touchdowns and gave up over 100 yards on the ground to James Conner, the second straight week allowing a back to go for over 100 rushing yards. Against Tampa and Tom Brady with receiver Chris Godwin (concussion) back in the fold, Denver's D will be a risky streaming option.

  • Broncos Defense Faces Stiff Test On The Road

The Denver Broncos won't have any rowdy fans to worry about on their trip to Pittsburgh in Week 2, but a healthy quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and his cast of weapons will pose a big challenge to a defense missing Von Miller (ankle) for the year and cornerback A.J. Bouye (shoulder) for at least three weeks. Inside linebacker Mark Barron (hamstring) will also be out. Denver's run D didn't allow Derrick Henry to run wild last week, but their inexperienced rookie cornerbacks Michael Ojemudia and Essang Bassey will surely be tested by Big Ben with talented wideouts JuJu Smith-Schuster and Diontae Johnson leading the charge. While the Broncos Defense was worth starting last week, they should be avoided this week with key injuries mounting.
