  • Browns Defense Notches Three Sacks In Week 12 Win

The Cleveland Browns defense played well in a 23-17 overtime win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 12. Cleveland was unable to force any turnovers but they sacked Tom Brady three times to pick up the win in overtime. The Cleveland defense has struggled at times this season but they came up big in overtime, preventing the Bucs from scoring despite Tampa Bay getting the ball first. Cleveland's defense has a chance at being productive again in Week 13 in a road game against a struggling Houston Texans offense.

  • Browns Defense Not A Recommended Fantasy Option In Week 12

The Cleveland Browns defense has struggled as a unit for much of the 2022 season as they are allowing 26.9 points per game this year, the third-most in the league. They will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home in Week 12. The Bucs have struggled on offense for much of the season, ranking just 27th in average points scored per game. That being said, they are quarterbacked by Tom Brady, who should be able to move the ball freely against this porous Cleveland defense. Treat the Browns as a low-end fantasy option heading into Week 12.

  • Browns Defense Notches Two Sacks Vs. Bills In Week 11

The Cleveland Browns defense struggled to slow down the Buffalo Bills in a 31-23 loss in Week 11. Cleveland was actually able to contain Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen, but they coughed up 171 rushing yards to the Bills in the loss. They got two sacks in the contest, one from Myles Garrett and one from Taven Bryan, but were unable to force a turnover. Cleveland will look to regroup in Week 12, although that may be tough as they will face Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

  • Browns Defense Draws Tough Matchup Vs. Bills In Week 11

The Cleveland Browns defense draws a difficult road matchup against the Buffalo Bills in Week 11. Buffalo is second in the league in average points per game and in yards of total offense per game in 2022. Cleveland's defense has been up-and-down as a unit in 2022 and will have their hands full against a Bills offense that is allowing the 18th-most fantasy points per game to opposing fantasy defenses this year. The early weather forecast is calling for a lot of snow over the weekend in Buffalo, which would help put a damper on Buffalo's scoring, but Cleveland's defense is still not a fantasy unit worth trusting considering their opponent in Week 11.

  • Browns Defense Struggles In Week 10

The Cleveland Browns defense struggled in a 39-17 loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 10. It was a complete dismantling by the Dolphins, who passed for 296 yards and added 195 rushing yards on the ground. Cleveland managed just one sack and was unable to force a turnover in the blowout loss. Things will not get much easier for the Browns in Week 11 as they draw a tough road matchup against an elite Buffalo Bills offense. The Browns' defense should not be considered as a fantasy option for that matchup.

  • Browns Defense Draws Tough Matchup Vs. Dolphins

The Cleveland Browns defense has a tough road matchup on tap against the Miami Dolphins in Week 10. Miami's offense has been excellent in 2022, ranking fifth in the NFL in average yards per game and 10th in points per game. They have been stingy to fantasy defenses, allowing the 25th-most fantasy points per game to the position thus far. This game has a high over/under set at 49.5 points and could turn into a high-scoring shootout. Fantasy managers should look elsewhere for their fantasy defense in Week 10.

  • Browns Defense Picks Up Five Sacks In Week 8

The Cleveland Browns defense played well in a 32-13 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 8's Monday night game. Cleveland finished with five sacks and forced two turnovers while limiting an explosive Cincy offense to just 229 yards of total offense. They made life miserable for Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow, who threw an interception on a pass deflected by Myles Garrett on the Bengals' first drive of the game. The Browns will be on bye in Week 9 before a tough road contest against the Miami Dolphins in Week 10.

  • Browns Defense Draws Tough Matchup Vs. Bengals

The Cleveland Browns defense has underperformed for much of the 2022 season, allowing 26.6 points per game, fifth-most in the league. Things won't get much easier for them in Week 8 as they take on a red-hot Cincinnati Bengals offense on Monday night. The Bengals are scoring the eighth-most points per game on offense and are sixth in the league in yards per game. The Browns head into Week 8 as three-point home underdogs in a game with a 45-point over/under. If there is a slight glimmer of hope for Cleveland this week, it is that the Bengals are likely to be without star wideout Ja'Marr Chase (hip). That being said, the Browns are not a strong play in fantasy in Week 8 even if Chase doesn't play.

  • Browns Defense Forces One Turnover In Week 7

The Cleveland Browns defense played well in a 23-20 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7. The Browns held what can be a dangerous Baltimore offense to just 254 total yards of offense while notching three sacks and forcing one turnover. Cleveland recovered a Justice Hill fumble in the fourth quarter, which led to them trying (and missing) a potential game-tying, 60-yard field goal. The Browns got sacks from Myles Garrett, Taven Bryan, and Martin Emerson Jr. in the contest. Cleveland's defense will face a tough test against a red-hot Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 8.

  • Browns Defense Draws Tough Week 7 Matchup

The Cleveland Browns defense has underperformed for much of the year, ranking as the overall No. 28 D/ST in fantasy points per game. They draw a tough road matchup against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7 in an important divisional showdown. The Ravens have an implied team total of 26.25 points in a game with a 46-point over/under in a game that could turn into a shootout between two porous defenses. Fantasy gamers can certainly find an option better than the Browns on the waiver wire as their Week 7 D/ST.

  • Browns Defense A Solid Option In Week 6

The Cleveland Browns defense has struggled to prevent opposing offenses from scoring this season, but they may get a break in a home matchup against the New England Patriots in Week 6. The Patriots are likely to start fourth-round draft pick Bailey Zappe at quarterback with both Mac Jones (ankle) and Brian Hoyer (concussion) dealing with injuries. The Pats are likely to lean heavily on the run game on Sunday, which has been a problem area for Cleveland's defense in 2022. That being said, this game has a low 43-point over/under and the Browns have Myles Garrett going up against a rookie quarterback making just his second NFL start. That keeps the Cleveland defense in the conversation as a top-12 option for Week 6.

  • Browns Defense Quiet In Week 5 Loss

The Cleveland Browns defense struggled in a 30-28 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 5. Cleveland failed to force a turnover while picking up just one sack in the loss on Sunday. The Browns got their lone sack from linebacker Jacob Phillips in the contest, but they were shredded for 173 rushing yards by Austin Ekeler. On the bright side, both Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney were able to play after missing last week with injury and appeared to emerge from Week 5 unharmed. Cleveland will look to bounce back in a Week 6 home matchup against the New England Patriots.

  • Browns Defense Draws Tough Matchup In Week 5

The Cleveland Browns defense has underperformed at times through the first four games of the 2022 season. Things won't get much easier for them in Week 5 as they welcome the Los Angeles Chargers to First Energy Stadium. The Chargers have an explosive offense, which has led to them allowing just the 23rd-most fantasy points per game to opposing D/STs thus far. Cleveland could be getting Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney back from injury this week but this is still a tough spot to use their defense in fantasy. Treat them as a bottom-10 fantasy option for Week 5.

  • Browns Defense Forces One Turnover In Week 4

The Cleveland Browns defense forced one turnover and notched one sack in a 23-20 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 4. Cleveland got a sack from Jordan Elliott while Denzel Ward picked off a Marcus Mariota pass in the contest. The Browns did a decent job getting pressure on Mariota in the contest, despite being without their top two pass rushers as Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney both did not suit up. Cleveland draws a tough Week 5 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.

  • Browns Defense Week 4 Outlook For Fantasy Football

The Cleveland Browns defense will head on the road to take on the Atlanta Falcons in Week 4. Atlanta's offense has been solid through the first three weeks, ranking ninth in the league with 26.7 points per game and 15th with 370.0 yards per game. The Browns could also be without top pass rushers Myles Garrett (biceps/shoulder) and Jadeveon Clowney (ankle), although both have a chance to play. Treat Cleveland as a mid-range fantasy option for Week 4 with a slight uptick if Garrett and/or Clowney suits up.

  • Browns Defense Scores TD In Week 3

The Cleveland Browns defense turned in a productive outing in a 29-17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3. Cleveland notched one sack and recovered a fumble for a touchdown in the Thursday night win. The Browns got their defensive touchdown on the final play of the game when the Steelers failed to corral a lateral in their own end zone, allowing Denzel Ward to fall on the ball for an easy score. Cleveland's defense will be a strong fantasy play again in Week 4's road game against the Atlanta Falcons.

  • Browns Defense Week 3 Outlook For Fantasy Football

The Cleveland Browns defense is coming off a rough showing in a 31-30 loss to the New York Jets which saw them give up two touchdowns in the final two minutes of the game. The Browns will look to regroup at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3's Thursday game. The Browns will be shorthanded on defense as Jadeveon Clowney (ankle) has already been ruled out and Myles Garrett (neck) is questionable with a neck injury. Cleveland's defense will not be a recommended fantasy option against the Steelers in Week 3, despite Pittsburgh's struggles to score the ball through the first two games.

  • Browns Defense Struggles In Week 2

The Cleveland Browns defense struggled in a 31-30 loss to the New York Jets in Week 2. Cleveland notched two sacks and forced one turnover, a fumble recovery, in the loss. The team got sacks from Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney, although the latter left early with an ankle injury. The Browns allowed backup Jets quarterback Joe Flacco to toss four touchdowns, including two in the final two minutes of the game, in an improbable comeback win for New York. Cleveland will look to bounce back against Mitch Trubisky and the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3's Thursday night game.

  • Browns Defense Week 2 Outlook For Fantasy Football

The Cleveland Browns defense played well in a Week 1 win over the Carolina Panthers, notching four sacks and forcing one turnover. Cleveland will look to keep it going as they draw a plus matchup at home against the New York Jets in Week 2. The Browns enter the game installed as 6.5-point home favorites in a game with a low 39.5-point over/under. With Zach Wilson still injured, the Jets will send veteran quarterback Joe Flacco out there to compete against Cleveland. The Browns defense is in a great spot against the Jets and can be started as a top-six fantasy option this week.

  • Browns Defense Finishes With Four Sacks In Week 1

The Cleveland Browns defense played well in a 26-24 win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 1. Cleveland picked up four sacks while also forcing one turnover in the winning effort. The Browns got two sacks from star edge rusher Myles Garret while Jadeveon Clowney, John Johnson, Tommy Togiai, and Ronnie Harrison Jr. all had one-half of a sack each. Cleveland's defense will be a strong fantasy play at home against the New York Jets in Week 2.

  • Browns Defense A Solid Option In Week 1

The Cleveland Browns defense opens the 2022 season with a road game against the Carolina Panthers in Week 1. Cleveland's defense will take on a familiar face as former Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield will be under center for Carolina. The Panthers were a very favorable matchup for fantasy defenses in 2021, allowing the second-most fantasy points per game. That being said, the Panthers' offense should be improved in 2022 with Mayfield representing a significant upgrade at quarterback over Sam Darnold and a healthy Christian McCaffrey at running back. Treat the Browns as a top-15 fantasy defense for Week 1.
