  • Jets Defense Plays Well In Week 12

The New York Jets defense played well in a Week 12 win over the Chicago Bears. They allowed just 10 points, recorded an interception, and sacked the quarterback twice. While they were one of the week's favorites due to taking on a Nathan Peterman-led Bears offense, the Jets did not disappoint. They put up nine fantasy points and should continue to be one of the stronger fantasy defenses going forward.

  • Jets Defense An Excellent Week 12 Option

The New York Jets defense is an excellent fantasy option in Week 12 against the Chicago Bears. With starting quarterback Justin Fields (shoulder) shaping up as a game-time decision for Week 12, Trevor Siemian could be forced to start, making the Jets defense even more appealing. Regardless of who starts though, the Jets defense has been outstanding this season, recording 32 sacks and 11 interceptions all while ranking fourth in the league in pressure rate. Meanwhile, the Bears have allowed the most sacks in the league. The Jets have seven top-12 fantasy weeks in a row on defense, and should make it eight straight after Sunday's game.

  • Jets Defense Has A Solid Game In Week 11

The New York Jets defense had a solid game in a Week 11 loss to the New England Patriots. They allowed 10 points and recorded six sacks, good for 11 fantasy points in standard scoring formats. They had only allowed three points up until a punt return that was one of the last plays of the game. The Jets defense was the only reason they were even in this game, as the offense was an absolute mess throughout.

  • Jets Defense A Good Choice In Week 11

The New York Jets defense makes for a solid option in Week 11 fantasy lineups. They'll hit the road to face an offensively limited New England Patriots team. The Jets defense has 11 interceptions and 26 sacks so far this season, both good for top-five placement in each category. They also have the fifth highest pressure rate in the league this year. They are a top-10 option with a fairly high floor for this matchup.

  • Jets Defense Strong Again In Week 9

The New York Jets defense was outstanding again in a Week 9 victory over the Buffalo Bills. While many fantasy managers may have shied away from the Jets because of the matchup with the Bills, the Jets ended up with 10 fantasy points in standard scoring, allowing 17 points to a powerful Bills offense while recording two interceptions and five sacks. It was an impressive performance by a young defensive unit. They'll head into their Week 10 bye, but should be a top-12 option most weeks after that.

  • Jets Defense Not Recommended For Week 9 Lineups

The New York Jets defense is not a recommended option in Week 9 fantasy lineups. The Jets have been more than solid on defense, finishing as a top-13 fantasy option for five weeks in a row, but Week 9 brings the Buffalo Bills and their elite offense into town, whereas the last few weeks have been much softer matchups. There's a chance the Jets find a way to slow down the Bills, anything can happen in divisional matchups, but there's not much upside and a very low floor. Fantasy managers who have been enjoying the Jets defense should thank them and move on this week.

  • Jets Defense Produces Points Despite A Loss In Week 8

The New York Jets defense put up a solid fantasy performance despite a Week 8 loss to the New England Patriots. The Jets allowed 22 points on defense but recorded an interception and six sacks, leading to 10 fantasy points in standard scoring leagues. Week 9 against the Bills will be followed by a Week 10 bye, so the Jets defense can be dropped at least temporarily in most fantasy formats.

  • Jets Defense A Solid Week 8 Option

The New York Jets defense is a solid option for fantasy lineups in Week 8. The Jets will take on the New England Patriots led by quarterback Mac Jones, who could once again be replaced at any moment by rookie Bailey Zappe. The Jets defense has been a top-13 defensive unit in each of the past four weeks, and is looking like one of the better defensive units in the AFC. They are a top-10 option for fantasy leagues with DST spots in the lineup.

  • Jets Defense Has A Pedestrian Week 7

The New York Jets defense had a pedestrian game in a Week 7 win over the Denver Broncos. They allowed nine points, recorded one interception, and one sack. That was good for six fantasy points in standard scoring fantasy leagues. The Jets could have taken more advantage of a struggling Broncos offense starting their backup quarterback, but they certainly did enough to win the game.

  • Jets Defense A Good Option In Week 7

The New York Jets defense is a strong fantasy option in Week 7 against the Denver Broncos. The Jets defense has been playing well all season and especially lately, both up front and in the secondary. With Denver struggling mightily on offense and things potentially getting even worse for them if Russell Wilson (hamstring) is limited or unable to play, the Jets defense has an easy top-10 ranking with plenty of upside this week.

  • Jets Defense Thrives Against The Packers In Week 6

The New York Jets defense was excellent against the Green Bay Packers in a Week 6 win. The Jets allowed 10 points, recorded four sacks, a fumble recovery, two blocks, and scored a touchdown. In standard scoring fantasy leagues, that was good for 21 points, the best performance by the Jets defense so far this season. They'll face the Broncos next and should be a solid choice in most formats for that matchup as well.

  • Jets Defense Is Risky With Upside In Week 6

The New York Jets defense is a risky choice with some upside in Week 6 fantasy lineups. They've recorded five sacks, five interceptions, a fumble recovery, and a safety in the past two weeks, but face off against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers on the road this time around. They have some upside, but could end up with a bit of a down game before facing two winnable games after that. Fantasy managers who already roster the Jets defense may want to stick with them through this high ceiling/low floor week.

  • Jets Defense Has A Strong Week 5 Performance

The New York Jets defense played well in a 40-17 win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 5. The Jets defensive unit allowed 17 points, recording an interception, a fumble recovery, two sacks, and a safety. In a standard scoring league, that's good for an 11 point performance. They won't be as likely to perform well against the Packers in Week 6, but they could be a lower end streaming option regardless.

  • Jets Defense A Risky Option In Week 5

The New York Jets defense is a risky option in Week 5 fantasy lineups. The Jets looked amazing against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 4, picking off four passes. But that was against an undertalented Mitchell Trubisky and an underprepared Kenny Pickett. Week 5 will see them take on Teddy Bridgewater and the Miami Dolphins. Usually, a defense going up against a team's backup quarterback would be a highly recommended fantasy option, but Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle have shown they don't need a starting quarterback to still put up big games. The Jets seem like a rare boom-or-bust fantasy defense for Week 5.

  • Jets Defense Gets Four Picks In Week 4 Win

The New York Jets defense played very well in a Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. They recorded four interceptions, three sacks, and allowed 20 points. They also got a starting quarterback benched, but that doesn't count for fantasy points. In a standard scoring league, the Jets defense put up 13 fantasy points. Assuming Teddy Bridgewater gets the start for the Dolphins, Week 5 could be another decent streaming spot for this Jets defensive unit.

  • Jets Defense Not A Great Choice In Week 4

The New York Jets defense is not a great choice in Week 4 lineups. Despite a good matchup on paper since they're taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers and former Nickelodeon Valuable Player Mitch Trubisky, the Jets defense has just been too inconsistent to trust in most formats this season. Paired with the offense mostly struggling to move the ball leading to the defense being on the field more often, they are looking like a unit that will be ranked somewhere between 15 to 20, meaning that most leagues should have a better Week 4 option available on the waiver wire.

  • Jets Defense Does OK In Week 3

The New York Jets defense was fine in a Week 3 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. They recorded two sacks and one fumble recovery while allowing 27 points, leading to a four point fantasy performance in standard scoring DST leagues. After Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow seemed to be getting sacked on every drop back after the first two weeks, the Jets defense was expected to not struggle to get into the backfield, but they were only able to get the two sacks in the game. A matchup against the Steelers awaits for Week 4.

  • Jets Defense Could Boom Or Bust In Week 3

The New York Jets defense is shaping up as a boom-or-bust option in Week 3 when they take on the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals have started the season 0-2 and have a lot to prove in Week 3, but opposing defenses have feasted against Cincinnati so far this season. The Jets defense had one sack and one pick in Week 2 while allowing 30 points to the Cleveland Browns. Week 3 seems like one of those matchups where a fantasy team's choice of defense could actually be the difference between a win and a loss. The Jets are a risky, but potentially high upside, option.

  • Jets Defense Doesn't Do Much In Week 2

The New York Jets defense didn't do much to stop the Cleveland Browns in a 31-30 Week 2 win. They allowed all 30 points, recorded one sack, and one interception. In a standard DST scoring league, that's all good for -1 fantasy points. A Week 3 matchup against Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals means the Jets defense can probably stay on the waiver wire for at least another week.

  • Jets Defense Best Left Alone In Week 2

The New York Jets defense played better than the final score showed in Week 1, but they are still not a recommended fantasy option in Week 2. In Week 1, they allowed 24 points while recording two sacks and one interception. With Joe Flacco in charge of the offense, it could be another week where the Jets defense ends up being on the field often and for extended periods of time. There's not a ton of upside here, but plenty of downside clearly visible. Most leagues will have stronger options readily available on the waiver wire.
